  1. Their prices are very high compared to what I could get in the U.S...

Their guarantee is a piece of shit. I bought my GF a ring and she wanted to trade it for something else. More double talk and bullshit than you would believe... Bottom line if you buy something you are stuck with it...

  2. I have lived AND WORKED (still working) in Pattaya for 8 years. I am WELL AWARE of the traffic in Pattaya.

My question is about buying a car somewhere OUTSIDE of Pattaya. Does it have to be registered in the city I buy it or the original owner lives? Can it be registered in Pattaya? Anything I should be aware of since I have only purchased a car from a Bkk Dealer.

    Thanks...

  3. I would say AVOID pharmacies in Jomtien. Generally overpriced sometimes shockingly so, and the small places often don't store meds properly anyway. Suggest Fascino and P and F pharmacy in Pattaya (multiple locations).

I STRONGLY disagree!!! I go to the small Pharmacy next to Kiss restaurant in the Rompho Market. Best prices ANYWHERE... i.e. Anticil 7 baht - 1 0 baht everywhere else I checked. My blood pressure medicine 145 baht - everywhere else 450 baht. Antibiotics (Amoxicillian 850 mg) 80 baht - 350 to 500 baht elsewhere.

I was so shocked by the Antibiotic price that I checked with one of the other pharmacists to make sure that the lady hadn't mischarged me too little. It was correct.

    Any name for the Pharmacy?

Sorry, I don't know the name. It is the ONLY pharmacy in the Market area proper. Next to the Kiss/Kool Restaurant on the corner of the complex.

They may be using generics for my blood pressure/ antibiotics (or made in Thailand) but it works the same as the one from the U.S.... Anticil isn't a generic - 7 baht vs 10 baht.

  4. It is because they don't hold the contractors to any standard of due dilligence. They do shit work with no consequences. I live in Jomtien Beach and when they did the new 2nd road there was a section about 500 meters long that didn't get finished for a year because neither contractor was "responsible for it"... Typical 4th world infrastructure. Rhompho Market gets about 3 feet of water during a hard rain as do other places.

  6. Key Visa Duck Square ( Big C Sukhumvit)

Thanks for all the info. I had to go see my insurance agent in this same area, so I just went to key visa. 150 baht. I didn't want to bother with driving around to other places for a cheaper one as I had to go here anyway.

  7. When I first came to Pattaya I got a copy of my passport made into a card that showed the main page and the visa. I just got a new passport and would like to get another card to carry in my wallet and thus don't have to carry my passport.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. I'm sorry that I cannot help in locating this condo but I just wanted to say that I hope you have a plan B as things do not seem on the up and up with this landlady. Please use your common sense and your gut feelings about this. Best of luck to you and welcome back to Pattaya.

How can you say "things do not seem on the up and up with this landlady."???? NOWHERE does the OP say anything about who the landlady is etc. I live in Jomtien Beach Condos and MANY people who live there (or don't) have multiple condos which they rent out. In 7 years I have not hear of any dodgy "landladies". Maintenance is great, security is great, and it is an all around nice area to stay in.

  9. There is a complex on Soi Rompho (second road and Soi 5) which has many bars. There are some areas for food there too.

There is a shooting range in the "basement" of the venue that does the lady boy shows on second road by Big C.

  10. I've been called a food nazi before and to hold my reputation up, here we go :

Butter is made from milk. There is no olive, soya or engine oil used in the production process.

Kindly refrain from misnaming margarine (i.e. An oil based product) "butter" just because you can squeeze it between bread and marmite. You can also do this with stauffer fett (another oil based product) but it would still not qualify as "butter".

Thank you Mr. Samanticist. Butter is also a generically accepted term for any butter LIKE substance. The same as KLEENIX is a generically accepted term for any facial tissue.
