  1. Many thanks - always wondered how this works. I don't yet own an EV, but have started thinking about it more and more. Planning to start looking at a few models over the next couple of months.
  2. How do the chargers work at service stations? Do I just rock up and plug in and then once charged pay whatever the cost is as if I was filling up with petrol ? Or do I need to register with lots of different companies to be able use their charging stations and then get billed periodically?
  3. It is indeed unfortunate. Pathum Thani immigration told me they wouldn't create the residence certificate as I don't 90 report. I've heard similar about Nonthaburi immigration. However, as with all things here YMMV! I've contacted a couple of agencies to see if they can get me the COR and am going to follow up with the embassy. Will report back here if I have any luck...
  4. It is indeed. I can't even get a reply to my emails. I just get an automated response telling me they won't be responding. Someone should make a sitcom about their incompetence...
  5. Thanks for this - I'll try them again and be a bit more insistent this time. This is the only thing stopping me getting a DL here and without it I'll be driving illegally once my IDP expires. I'd optimistically like to think the UK embassy bears some responsibility when it comes to helping their citizens remain legal here.
  6. Many thanks for this. Unfortunately my local immigration office have also told me they will not issue the residence permit either as I don't 90 day report. I have a multi entry non imm visa as I'm in and out of the country. So looks like I'm a bit stuck in terms of getting a driving license ????
  7. Many thanks for the info ????. Could I ask what the process to get the affirmation of residence from the UK embassy was ? I checked their website and it suggested that they don't issue these.
  8. I had exactly the same issue with Pathum Thani immigration recently. Went to get certificate of residence and they wouldn't do it, saying I have to get it from my embassy. According to the British Embassy website they don't issue these documents either! So I'm currently at a bit of a loss as to how to get this document. Any suggestions would be welcome...
  9. Ah awesome - many thanks Joe, you've just saved me a return plane ticket! I shall pop to immigration this week...
  10. Sorry to hijack the thread, but could I just double check that with you Joe. I've currently got a multi entry non O based upon marriage. I'm planning to leave the country in another couple of weeks to get another 90 day stamp, based upon what you've said though I could actually just extend this (and all future) 90 day entries by a further 60 days, in effect giving me 150 days per entry. Is this correct ? For some reason I thought you could only do this once in the life of the visa and not for each 90 day entry.
  11. Hello all - I'm popping over to Ho Chi Minh for a couple of nights in a couple of weeks and planning to enter using the visa waiver (I'm a UK passport holder). However, I was in Vietnam a couple of months ago when I also entered on a visa waiver. Someone has told me I'll therefore not be able to use the visa waiver this time and will need to apply for the e-visa. However, I cannot find anything online to suggest I cannot use the visa waiver again. Does another know if there is a limit to the number of times the visa waiver scheme can be used ? Many thanks...
  12. Thinking of doing a border bounce at the one of these crossing next week as we're in Chantaburi for a few days. I've got a multi entry Non-Imm O based upon marriage visa, my current permission to stay doesn't expire until December, but thinking of doing the bounce now as we're going to be close to the border anyway. Has anyone done this recently who would mind talking through what's involved ? Many thanks...
