  1. Nine pages of discussing legal or illegal Agents. The legit ones provide valuable service because they know the legal rules and make sure all the forms are accomplished by them and all the information is correctly entered. The legit ones are well known in the community and usually provide a host of other services including translation services, wills, etc. Have used the same one for four years now for retirement and marriage extensions. The girl in the office who handles all the marriage visas is the most organized and proficient people I've had the pleasure of working with, With arthritis and diabetic neuropathy  in my writing hand I could never had filled out all the forms, let alone being 20 K from immigration office. It was well worth the 7,000 I paid for their expertise and service.

  2. I used to rent a shop house. Father of landlord, married to Phillpino, died. In order for her to stay here in CM, she changed to support by daughter in University. She said, indicated that if a child is working, she told me they told her no problem using that method. Check for details at Immigration or agent for paperwork and qualifications.

  3. I am renewing my visa, this time for marriage income method. I'm told there should be no problem. I too will have 7 months deposit from pensions. My FTT transfers exceed necessary 40,000 by approx 10,000. When checked they said give them a copy of my DFAS and SSA pensions to indicate income. Said get visa advice and BKK letter Next year will have to show 12 months, of course. So hopefully many will be given lieniency this year. Good luck to all. Prepare an emergency trip to HCMC OR Savannaket just in case.

  4. Joe, I showed them proof Im getting pension without affidavit. I showed CM that my BKK bankbook is getting regular FTT deposits for 7 moths now. They said (along with other married docs) get a bank letter and credit advice. Do not understand credit advice. I'm assuming they want all 7 months, but BKK can do locally for 6 months. They did not indicate credit advice for any one number of months. What do we pay for the credit advice? I took it to mean it was a list of deposits on possible one or two pages. Do you know what charges there are for credit advices? Indicated with proper married docs and bank letter and credit advice should be no problem.

800 THb, thats cheap ,its 1600 Thb up here in Chiang Mai,

I would recommend everyone gets a TM30, they might say,

they don't want it today, but I officers change and so do

other things ,The Big Oud said you had to have it.

     Regards Worgeordie

Two years ago in Chiangmai a new TM 30 was not required if not leaving Thailand. If leaving Thailand they told me to just bring in passport and they would update computer. I had dragged in landlord again, and they said no need for him to come in and no need for new TM 30' just come into upgrade computer. Moved to our new house after marriage and wife did TM 30 same day, but have no idea what they want if we go to Bangkok to visit her family and come back to our house.

  6. We were told to get a BKK bank statement and BKK bank account direct deposit credit advice statement showing monthly incomes from overseas along with copy of my pension letter (2 pensions) showing showing the income and all the other married documents and Chiangmai would accept less than 12 months this year only. Using income method of 40,000+/Mo. So with right docs, looks like they are trying to accommodate the first year. Changing from retired to married visa. I will have 8 months out of 12 well above the required for married extension. Key was proof of monthly income (without affidavit) and the two statements from BKK direct deposit account. All marriage documents and changes of address are now finished.

Yes, all the bangkok people dont realise that the rest of Thailand went through the TM30 stuff in the last couple of years.

I was cleaning out some paperwork the other day and found a TM30 receipt dated 2014. I was living at the GF house at samut sahkon and did an extension there, GF had to do a TM30 for me living at her house, and that was 5 years ago. Immigration offices have usually done TM30 as you apply for an extension, nobody even realised as it was just a form to sign, no fines etc

Same over 3 years ago when I rented a shophouse after a divorce. Hauled landlord to Promanada IO to fill in TM30. Took 10 minutes. No charges. at that time you only reported to IO at airport if you returned to country, same address and they updated paper in passport.

You might only get a single entry for the first time you apply at Penang. The equivalent of 400k baht can be in any bank.

At Savannakhet Laos you can get one with no financial proof. Same at the consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.

Which of the two would be the easier and/ or least expensive place to go from Chiangmai given country procedures, and health, etc?

  9. With regards to the pension money from SSA and DFAS. One is usually paid on the first day of month, and DFAS paid last working day of previous month, but the experience with my last 6 months to my BBK direct deposit, they usually are received within about two days of each other between the 2 and 4th same month. So it is unlikely the IO would not see then as arriving same month. Only once received SSA on 6th in PM because of weekend and Thai holidays, but still first part of month.

  10. If on a married non o multi, can one get a work permit if you are married. I see the Multi O based on marriage an ideal way to give time to either have 400,000 in bank or show 12 months deposits in bank if able to make the trip based on health for long trip from Chiangmai to Savannakhet. Should I try local extension first to see if lienciency is given for 8 months of 51,000 would be accepted?

  11. Has money in bank for MEV non O based on marriage at Savannakhet a common requirement now. If so how much is required officially now? Has anyone else recently experienced this? Most reports tell of no requirements for money. I am thinking about just getting MEV and extending married visa locally in CM after my 12 months income has accumulated.
