  1. I've been a 3BBB user for a long time. Just moved and upgraded to 100/100. But I use true satellite for gold package. They tried to sell me the combo. I have used 3BBB for long time and they have great service. When I looked at the True promotion, it was a little cheaper until you read the fine print and find out at the end of the first year the same combo goes up another 1000 Bht. (or as I remember it) so only good deal with first year promotion. They transferred my upgraded 100/100 3BBB out to Sansai, installed in new house free, and left my price at 590/mo.

  2. Agree. Retired military should have no problem because it is an excellent benefit for retired military. Not sure Thai Immigration knows much about it, but here in Chiangmai, as I understand it, has a contract with Tricare and bills directly for their part. Also, part if the coverage is the benefit is Coverage 100% coverage after the first $3000 of allowable benefit each year.

Hope the US Embassy can help educate the Thai Immigration about the Tricare coverage for active and retired military.

To comply with IAT requirements for its ACH transfers, a U.S. bank would have to enable a sender to start adding additional sender information that currently NONE of them incorporate into their ACH processes, including the home address and location for the owner of the recipient account.

I've seen/heard ZERO indication that any of the financial entities I deal with, which are many, are doing anything to move in that direction. The IAT rules have been in place for about a decade now, and U.S. banks haven't done anything about that, because they see ACH transfers as purely domestic and only see international recipient transfers as being Swift international wire transfers, where that additional recipient info has already long been required.

On the other hand, what probably IS going on behind the scenes is some additional time for BIG U.S. government pension and other payors (Social Security, military, etc.) to bring their payroll systems into IAT compliance, because they DO have to send a lot of payments internationally, and aren't going to be doing those via individual foreign wire transfers.

My DFAS goes to BBK bank Direct deposit account. Neither my SS or DFSA direct deposits are in the new IAT  format, but coming through. Because of holiday weekend, mySS on 4th not, posting until 4 PM tonight, but usually get DFAS on 2nd, and SS on third or 4th. Has been like clockwork except delayed May 4 deposit.  manager how to change to new Sansai address. Had me fill in new address and will send it to Airport Plaza BKK where  I opened account and then on to BBK, BKK,  and BBK Bank NY. My counter mtransfersm were a 100th the trouble  the BKK Bank is now.

  4. Pray that is case. Last month it came on April 4 th at 1030. Seem many banks in Thailand still affected by Monday holiday because of Corrination. Most ATM open. Both dfas and SS like clockwork work since starting. Thank you everyone. If you have ever tried to contact SS in Manila you know what a run around it us to get an answer back. Does anyone know the best local way to get a missed pension payment at Bkk\Ss. Fixed? First time not get on time. Only rec'd Dfas pension.

    Thank you everyone!

Only money or very bad international publicity gets any action on problems in Thailand.  Perhaps the loss of tourists--with the loss of their money--will spur some action on the bad smog.  But, don't hold your breath.  Err, maybe do hold your breath if you are outside in CM.

Maybe they will have the sense, but don't count on it, to start appreciating the expats living here and the money they spend here, even if it is not as high as they want to make it easier to stay.

  6. Ubone Joe, Does it still make no difference where first extension based on marriage in CM of 400,000 put in 2 months before renewal comes from? District office paperwork submitted. Wife's second sister and brother in law coming to visit from Bangkok and will witness marriage documents. So they had to line their id's to wife at District Office today, but appointment set for 22nd. FYI: For those in Sansai District Office Area, they want copies of your witnesses ID's before they call you back to sign. Then the same persons must come to witness in one week when you sign.

  7. Didn't pay for work permit at CCC, Payap University International Business MBA and International College programs for 10 years, and RMUTL Chiangmai. Payap took care of filing taxes for International Ajarn. Only thing is I had to go to Labor Office to take documents. I know many of the other schools pay poorly and make you take care of being legal in your own.

  8. Do you really care what happens to your body. Your soul has left it. If not a direct cremation you will be paying every Thai along the way including the big party for everyone. Sending back to home country would cause someone a lot of money. Leave it to those left to decide what to do. Enjoy your afterlife!

You do not want a re-entry if getting a new visa = have no knowledge on taking car into Laos but perhaps you will leave at border crossing and then take bus.  Marriage visa will require you have original of marriage certificate as well as copy and wife home register/id copies.  You can obtain multi entry - next working day afternoon service and cost 5k.  You are right not available for retirement without financials.

As last resort in September am thinking of going to savannaket for MEV based on marriage. Switching from retirement to marriage. Visa due mid September (30 days before current extension expires) Married 2 years, but just registering in May. I will have an un-used re-entry permit in my passport at that time. I get each year but don't use. Why do you say can't have re-entry permit in passport, and what happens if you do? What do do in that case?

  10. Lopburi3, Have been planing a Multi entry from savannaket based on marriage as a last resort, but have a re-entry permit in my passport that will not probably be used. If I go savannaket for Multi entry based on marriage are you saying cant have a un used entry stamp in passport? Will be registered before end of May and will be first based on retired to married.

    Thanks
