  1. I have no idea what an "official marking vote tallies behind overlapping score sheets" means.
  2. Thailand's main religion is 400 times less repressive than Malaysia's main religion.
  3. I'm out almost everyday in Bangkok, and just once have I ever smelled weed. It was coming from a home along the Saen Saeb Canal. It smelled like the good stuff, and I certainly didn't get a 2nd hand buzz from it. Darn.
  4. A few will make money, hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people will destroy their lives.
  5. I remember someone in Amsterdam telling me that one big reason cannabis is "tolerated," is that pot smokers rarely cause problems. IMO, no one belongs in jail for smoking weed.
  6. Wattie's Beans from NZ are available at Foodland, Villa, Tops, Big C, etc. for about 75-80 Baht. They're very good and offer a lower sodium/ lower sugar version too.
  7. NATO members are supposed to contribute 2% of their GDP to the organization. Every new member country is theoretically a windfall for the defense contractors. Nice work if you can get it.

  10. Same. My Thai wife can almost always get a good price. I tell friends that visit to take a tuk-tuk once for the novelty, then avoid them like the plague unless you don't mind paying the inevitable inflated price or being taken somewhere the driver gets a commission. Not to defend the grifter overcharging, but even the "tourist" price is still dirt cheap compared to taxi prices in most people's home countries.
  11. I'm not much of a pot smoker, but a couple of puffs before bed sure helps me fall asleep faster and sleep longer.
  12. Cabin crews are instructed not to help lift baggage for passengers, it's a leading cause of injury in the industry. If you can't lift the bag yourself, pay the damn checked baggage fee.
  13. The weaker Baht is at least helping with inflation here. I think I can speak for most people who receive monthly income from overseas, we're not complaing.
