  1. Not cheap for the good stuff, 800-1200 Baht per gram ain't cheap.
  2. By no means am I saying these women deserved to be scammed, but anyone who gives large amounts of money to someone on the phone without verifying their authenticity is absolutely mind-boggling.
  3. Singapore Airlines was ranked #1, Cathay Pacific was #2. I haven't flown Thai in a while, but was very pleased the times I did, both long haul and short haul.
  4. Same in the gated community I live in, here in Bangkok. It's almost laughable that people who have never smoked weed before are now growing it. My wife who has never smoked weed before, has a nice little crop right next to her roses. She has no plans to smoke it, just wanted to grow some. Next to the Family Mart nearby, there's a beauty salon that has a couple of plants growing right in front of their shop.
  5. I always tell friends who visit, try a tuk-tuk once for the experience and never take one again, because you will be ripped-off.
  6. How the heck are Thai people that make 350 Baht a day going to afford paying a 2000 Baht fine, much less a 4000 Baht fine? It's easy to say to not commit the offenses in the first place, but more than a week's pay, or two weeks pay should be a crime itself. A fine of 500 or 1000 Baht would likely have the same deterrent effect, without taking away someone's ability to feed themselves or their family.
  7. I'm sorry she died, but using your phone while riding a motorbike should be called a suicide.
  8. For the first time since the pandemic started, I personally know six people that presently have Covid. Whether it's just a coincidence or a bad sign, I don't know. The good thing though, is that all of the six people are only experiencing mild symptoms and all are vaccinated.
  9. I wouldn't expect things to be much different than before, it's not like weed wasn't widely available before legalization (so I've heard, hehe). The main difference is there will be a lot more stoned tourists, which should be of great benefit to the junk and fast food industries. Releasing the prisoners who were imprisoned for cannabis related crimes was a big plus too.
  10. I'll take a 73 yr. old paying attention to the road over a 17 yr. old texting on his phone every time.
  11. Every year I get out a straight edge and a pencil, and draw a crappy map showing my house and the main roads near my house. It takes me about 5 minutes and has been accepted every time.
  12. It will probably stay the same (BKK), just like Ho Chi Minh City remained SGN, Mumbai kept BOM, Beijing is still PEK, etc.
  13. Neither man deserved what happened to them, but it could have been completely avoided by respecting those around them.
  14. Sounds just like the Brits who live across the street from us in Bangkok. We counted over 150 loud parties a year from these selfish cretins, for over three years. Every neighbor on our street signed a petition asking them to try to be more quiet after 9:00 PM or so. They completely ignored it and continued their ways. I could care less if they partied all night, but they partied outside in front of their home and couldn't be bothered to move inside when it started getting late. There were times when it was a good thing (for them) I didn't own a scythe, or an AK-47.
  15. My wife's overweight, diabetic 70 yr. old sister who received two Sinovac jabs, tested positive for Covid 19. She was hospitalized and said she felt a little sick, but quickly recovered and is now fine. Maybe the "Chinese stuff" isn't as effective as some others, but appears to have worked in my sister-in-law's case. "Better than nothing" at the very least.
