  1. He couldn't wait until he got back to his hotel swimming pool?
  2. Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded.
  3. Tourists and visitors may not know that pedestrians don't necessarily have the right of way here. The story said he had only been here two days. I often see tourists step out into traffic thinking cars and motorbikes will stop for them...not usually.
  4. Wattie's Beans from NZ are available at Foodland, Villa, Tops, Big C, etc. for about 75-80 Baht. They're very good and offer a lower sodium/ lower sugar version too.
  5. How many other men will be making sexual advances towards his wife while he's rotting in a Thai prison?
  6. She must have a license and insurance.
  7. I'm sure when the immigration police "request" a meeting, he won't decline.
  8. How do you get caught with two pills and 0.3 grams of coke? He must have bought the dope from a cop or a snitch.
  9. NATO members are supposed to contribute 2% of their GDP to the organization. Every new member country is theoretically a windfall for the defense contractors. Nice work if you can get it.

  12. In this case...it's a good thing, and fine with me.
  13. That's a lot of booger sugar he ingested. If just one of those pellets leaked, he would have blasted off on a one-way ticket to never-never land.
  14. Hopefully they'll spend a lot of time in Thailand...behind the walls of a prison. Lucky for the Kiwis that their parents are wealthy, it's their best and maybe only chance of seeing NZ again in the near future.
  15. Apparently he's a real hothead, but he deserves his day in court. If he confesses or if he's convicted, jail then deportation would be more than appropriate.
  16. Same. My Thai wife can almost always get a good price. I tell friends that visit to take a tuk-tuk once for the novelty, then avoid them like the plague unless you don't mind paying the inevitable inflated price or being taken somewhere the driver gets a commission. Not to defend the grifter overcharging, but even the "tourist" price is still dirt cheap compared to taxi prices in most people's home countries.
  17. When someone is kidnapped, why conceal her identity? This is not the time to "protect her privacy." You would think at least a picture of her would help in case she was spotted at a gas station, 7-11, etc.. In my home country, when somone is kidnapped, the victime's name and picture is shown everywhere possible in hopes that someone will see her and report it to the police.
  18. One of the first things you do when traveling, get a card from your hotel when you check-in. Especially when you don't speak the language.
  19. I'm not much of a pot smoker, but a couple of puffs before bed sure helps me fall asleep faster and sleep longer.
