I think Arsenal have got the hardest group.
agree, tough group to get out of that. group h is interesting in heritage terms. think it's a gimme for barca and milan though, pending celtic's home form.
chelsea and PSG got the real easy route by the way.

THE GROUPS
Group A: Manchester United
Group B: Real Madrid
Group C: Benfica
Group D: Bayern Munich
Group E: Chelsea, Schalke
Group F: Arsenal, Marseille
Group G: Porto
Group H: Barcelona, AC Milan
Ah yes, Champions League Draw Day.
Or as Spurs fans refer to it........ Thursday
wow. from a city fan. my my, at waterloo napoleon did surrender.
You gotta be in it to win it, as you well know Stevie.
Bayern, CSKA Moscow, and Plinz. I dont think we could have expected better than that. Better than last year anyway.
well yes, by definition. think city taking the piss out of spurs is a little bit previous though. like two bald men arguing over a comb.

hope so. am fed up of us talking about signing players this summer only for them to move to another club with CL football to offer or just sign a new deal where they are.
yarmalenko only has a year left on his deal so 20m or whatever would be bloody silly.
-
Where is today's picture of Bale in a stupid outfit? Come on lads, I can't do all the legwork.
the cruising look.

talk of us lashing big money at yarmolenko now. smacks of desperation this, he's not that good and we could probably have got him miles cheaper six weeks ago.

Genuine second bid? You sure? Sounds garbage to me.
TBH, I think this is the perfect time for Madrid to play hard ball. If Spurs say no, good for them this year, but Bales transfer fee could nose dive................and by nose dive, I mean to a more realistic £50m.
Well if i'm wrong then i'm sure Madrid will drop their offer, who wouldn't!!
But i'm not wrong and they won't. I have no idea who made the second bid but its genuine.
the bale figure always seemed massively inflated anyway, who started that 90m thing? was it spurs' valuation or madrid leaking that number to the press?
i don't really get why they would pay a world record fee for a player who isn't yet really proven world class. ronaldo was already world class and completely proven at the top level when they paid 80m for him, he'd won everything going. so how come this figure seemed to be established and accepted so early?
-
so now that spurs have spent all their money, is it about the time that madrid come in with a final bid of around 60m euros?
-
Did you make that yourself or did another nine year old do it for you?
it's really, really rubbish that.

Not loaded enough to take gambles? These idiots funded the transfer shambles with Carroll and much of the rest of your wage-bloated squad.
I just read this pathetic interview with Rick parry in which he also blamed the previous Yanks for Liverpool's ills. Bizarre, because he is also saying your last successes came under them in terms of getting into Europe...
oh hello captain sucks-a-lemon. 'they' funded the carroll debacle because we got £50m for torres as you well know. and parry's right to some extent in that we are still feeling the effects of H&G's downsizing and ripping off of the club in general. carpet baggers. and our last success in europe, a european cup win and another final plus consistent semi and quarter final appearances came because of benitez, and in spite of hicks, gillett, parry, moores and anyone else who wears a suit and doesn't know anything about football. parry's not really allowed to comment when he was part of the moores regime that sold the club to H&G instead of DIC for an additional £8m. buffoons.
sorry for puzzling you with all this talk of european cups by the way. g'night.

3 injuries in one night
FSG have 5 days to do something or all this loaning, selling and balancing of books is whiffing a little to much of presentation for sale
last night hit us hard. no toure against united and too many players played 120 minutes. good time for united to be playing us this. we look a bit threadbare.
I left it at 2 nil thought we'd be having an easy night.
Another CB has been on the cards the whole window, why didn't they get it sorted earlier and they'd be ready for Sunday. Hope Skrtel is up for it.
Threadbare in August
FSG aren't what we need them to be. not loaded enough to take punts and gambles and afford to lose money etc. we're treading water still. and it's still the hicks and gillett legacy and the appalling mistake that was sacking benitez after one bad season.

Oh gawd, not another team giving United a easy task! First Swansea forget their striker (Bony), then Chelsea forgot they were allowed to score as well, now you guys are folding.
got a bad feeling about this one, like moyes is about to break his anfield duck. we're thin. need to get coutinho at phil jones and have henderson and gerrard attacking the hole in front of ferdinand and vidic. on paper they're much stronger than us, even given the drag factor of their manager.

mata's the best footballer at chelsea. mourinho just doesn't seem to like these patient, technical attacking players though. total waste leaving such a good player sat on the bench.
-
he really is modelling himself on beckham then? ridiculous swimwear, silly jet age haircut. he'll have poorly-spelled tattoos next.

it's the matching trainers that i love the most. such attention to detail. wonder where he keeps his match ticket and beer money?

Chelsea in for Eto'o.
At 32 he is getting on a bit, but only £2m transfer fee sounds decent.
reckon eto'o would still score bundles in england. brilliant striker. he'd flat track bully the hell out of this league.
-
Arsenal looking pretty clinical here. Fulham have played alright but are two down.

Lots of bitter Chavs and Gooners loitering around
Why would a Chelsea fan be bitter?
No real football heritage
don't think that makes them bitter really. shallow and superficial yeah, but not necessarily bitter.
-
Agree uptheos but is bale worth 4 times the price of fellaini? whats has happened to FFP since it has been brought in the transfer market has gone bonkers.
FFP is a sham. it will never be properly implemented, the richest clubs are just too powerful.
and yeah, the average starting price of any half-decent player this summer seems to be about 30m. and bale's valuation is just stupid.

It's the fact that he reinvented himself so easily that I love most. Made the simple passing role look a doddle. Such a gifted, intelligent footballer and definitely ahead of his time. I think he was better than gazza. And I never saw enough of best to comment really.yeah ggood interesting article , but up just short of George best and gazza ? don't think so, tbh Im not even sure if he'd be up there with the likes of greaves or dalgleish, but that's footie .
