Bob,  no mention of the penalty decision!!!!  Salah could have seriously injured himself hitting the deck like that!!!?

haha. there were about three penalties in that incident. but the fact that it annoyed the hell out of roy hodgson pleases me greatly.

  2. it's a good point jellydog makes, pogba has lots of attributes but leadership has never really struck you as one. this united side lacks leaders, whereas great united sides of the past always had three or four natural captains in their ranks. it's hard to see who the actual leader of this team is. 'cos it doesn't look like the manager does it?

That game took me back to the golden era of David Moyes.

What an astonishing impact that 450m odd Jose's spent has made on their progress

he hasn't made a single united player better in their role. except possibly fellaini, if you're stretching the definition of "better" to mean simply "more important to my tactics".

even de gea, still probably the best goalkeeper in the world, looks like he might be on the decline under him. which is surely a personality or morale thing rather than ability.

I was pleased with his work rate but his end product let him down a bit and but what do you expect with the kind of scrutiny he is under and not just the press. Even you bareback are never happy with him and I think that's unfair as he is still very young and his stats are beginning to look up there. He is similar in end product to di Maria but he's much younger and will become better/clinical . If he stays at City for 4-5 years he could be one of your top goalscorers ever.

I'm not keen on his Mrs mind.

that's a shame. she speaks very highly of you.

I'd be uncomfortable with buying a City reject tbh.... I think it was more his decision to leave but still.

he joined bayern munich and became one of the best centre backs in the world. not sure that's being "rejected" to be honest.

Especially as they have backed him to the hilt. He is being very disrespectful and I can’t see that going down very well. It’s gone well past the usual grumpy persona.

it's like constructive dismissal but the other way round. and if they fire him for being a prick they'd have to pay him tens of millions to get shut of him presumably.

Who was it that posted United are backing away from high priced transfers due to Mourinho being on thin ice ? That's looking more like the truth each week.

the united owners and execs can't be loving his pathetic poor me poor me PR game lately. and he seems a bit like he did in his last days at chelsea, that he basically doesn't want to be there and is trying to get himself fired through his own behaviour.

“Other clubs that compete with us are really strong, they have fantastic squads, Tottenham, Chelsea, City or they’re investing massively like Liverpool who are buying everything and everybody. If we don’t make our team better it’ll be a difficult season.”

United have signed 3 players this summer as have Liverpool

i reckon jose will be gone from united by november.

Good win by Liverpool but as been said, you can't read too much into pre-season friendlies/tour matches.

On the other hand I really cannot see him being the best manager for Utd...…...there HAS to be someone else out there!

interesting isn't it, city and liverpool are kicking on with signings and momentum, arsenal have replaced their manager and they'll hope freshened things up, spurs have focused on keeping their best players, chelsea have replaced their manager and look for a fresh start, united have a manager who looks thoroughly miserable and that he'd rather be any place else.

Even though it was only a friendly it don’t bode well for him this year. His body language is already awful and he needs a good start to the season else he will be under a lot of pressure.

doesn't look like a manager ready to inspire his players for the new season does he? long may it continue of course.

LFC 1-3 BVB....Van Dijk with our goal. Two late goals cost us. Controlled the game but Solanke, Ojo and Moreno all missed sitters in 2nd half. Matip off injured early doors. Karius looks like he isn't even trying! He has to go!:post-4641-1156693976: Pulisic was BVB's best player by a street.

we're nowhere near full strength but it was still a bit sloppy to concede the two goals we did. i'm really not bothered about pre-season matches, particularly commercial jaunts to places like the US, but it's nice to see keita looking lively.

and no wonder klopp wants to sign pulisic.

    Still need a midfielder gents.

I won't bother comparing your summer to ours....suffice to say I'm feeling a tad depressed...and on a Friday too!

probably need to replace oxlade really, the poor unlucky sod. got quite high hopes for marko grujic though myself.

Its the Liverpool thread.  I think they would be saying either talk Liverpool news or knob off.

And this morning you really are boring the crap out of me, more even than normal.  So better just to knob off.?

i'd say please, please, please stop quoting bredbury blue's posts 'cos they're too tedious for words.

  14. pogba speaks four languages fluently i believe. that wasn't about being able to talk to your mates.

mourinho is a negative, bus-parking manager who looks incapable of getting the best out of good, very expensive players and who takes credit for any wins and blames his players when they lose. so good luck to you with the knowing what he's doing thing. i can't imagine having the job he does and being quite so miserable.
