  1. Can think of much better ways to spend 25K, and no it does not

    involve women ,drink or drugs....

In my life I have had no one hold my hand ,advise me what to do,

Just take life by the scruff of the neck and give it a kick in the arse,

and get on with it,you most probably only get one, so you better

make the best of it ,just my humble opinion, and at 66 think !

have had enough experience of it,

Live your life to the fullest, have no regrets, thats all folks

    regards Worgeordie

  2. Was the bank,Siam Commercial Bank?, I never got any paper work from

them for any international transfers, and they thought it strange that I

should want to know name of sender, exchange rate, charges, ect !!!!!

So only use Bangkok Bank,Thai Farmers Bank now, paper work

    issued everytime,no problem,

    regards Worgeordie

Go to your home SCB branch and they will be able to pull up the transfer information and print it out for you

Yeap, same for Bangkok Bank....a person just has to ask. Bangkok Bank also provides SMS notification (but you must signup first) of international transfers which includes the foreign currency amount rec'd, exchange rate, and amount of baht deposited to your account.

From my post ,you can see I did ask ,but got the pat answer, It has to come from Bangkok, easier to change banks than have to go through that every time regards Worgeordie
  3. On here at least ,farangs seem more against facial hair, than Thai people,

who in the real world ,with the state everything is in ,have much bigger

problems to worry about than facial hair.

Also never judge a book by its cover, its inside that counts.

take care everyone, and dont worry ,look at the bigger picture

    regards Worgeordie

  4. re .. I need one in English.

re .. 2K ? ? ? .. its near xmas man ! ... 1K .. is better than having a useless typewriter sat on your floor and m t gets what he wants for xmas: )

The one in your picture is crap, and I am the one selling MY typewriter,so I sell it at a fair price, and has nothing to do with you,has it?

Another know it all ,who has to make a comment,if Mark does not want it,no problem, I know its a fair price, but this is Thai Visa ,Chiang Mai

and it seems there are an over abundance of posters who cannot stop themselves from making snide, stupid, non constructive remarks,

    take care Worgeordie

That's true, but for that price shouldn't YOU be getting it serviced and providing the new ribbon for the would be buyer? Or you can try to offload it to a museum in another 50 years.

  6. Hi Misterman, all I did was get a drinking straw, put one

end in the smallest of the two holes on top of the colour

and blow ,so the pressure forces the ink up the small

tube to the printer head, then run off a few pages and

it should be OK, it worked for me anyway.

  7. I think that only if one's driver were femail would facial hair create attention.

I have had a beard since 1976. I have lived in Asia since 1982. (Chiang Mai since 2000)

When I was younger, the beard was quite bushy, but now I keep it trimmed short - for my own preference.

My wife of 10 years (Thai) likes it and has never suggested that I remove it.

I have never sensed any negative reaction from an Asian to my beard. (perhaps I am just insensitive).

(However, those who know bahasa Malay will know how I got my nickname..but it was in a friendly teasing way).

Fortunately, my income does not rely on my satisfying other people's opinion of what I should look like.

I hate shaving, especially in a hot climate where sweat stings a razor burn. My beard stays.

Does your beard enjoy the hot weather?

Can you wait while I ask it?

  8. Hi Khaan, are you sure PCSafe doctor is a legit program as I

checked on all the well know websites for downloads and they

    dont list it,

best to go with well know scanners, like MalwareBytes,Hitman Pro,SuperantiSpyware,

as there are fake antispyware scanners out there that will infect your computer.

    take care regards Worgeordie

PS if you google PC safe doctor, lot of people asking if its safe too,and no download site lists it ,and I believe its not easy to uninstall.

  9. I had same problem with a tv, just took the speakers out ,

and put a bead of silicone rubber sealer around them

where the diaphragm had come away from frame, and

it worked like a charm, but dont know how easy it would

be for you to take laptop apart.

    regards Worgeordie

  10. Hi Kaan, Download Hitman Pro,(google it), its free and scans

with 5 different engines, and will remove your virus

You should also download a program that does not let the UBS

run, until you have scanned it first, USB s are most likely the

greatest way to get infected with viruses Ect.

    regards Worgeordie

the USB program I was thinking of is called ,NoAutorun, its only a few Kbs ,but works

  11. Hi NanLaew, Try unblock-us (google it) , its not free, but only

    costs C$ 4.99 pm,works very well,one click install,and they

    channels.

  12. Hi Triffid, Have only seen Pataks Mango chutney, not problem for

me as I make my own, chutneys and pickles,

Last night some of my family arrived from the UK,with 10 jars

assorted Pataks curry pastes, so I be OK for another year.

    regards Worgeordie

  13. Good Morning, Have tried several times to log on to WeTV website

but all I get is Could not locate remote server,

They have extended their service to our Mooban on Mae Jo road,.

this was 2/3 months ago,and they put flyer's in the letter box,so I

phoned them ,to ask to join, they sent someone out to do a survey

and said my house was too far from the node...which I think is no

more than 70 meters, seems ridiculous to bring the cable several

Kmts ,then say 70 meters is too far !!!,

Then last week they phoned back ,do you still want the service..OK

I said, but now I cannot get on to the website ,as what I need to know

is do they still have SYFY,Universal, and Australian network,as that is

the main reason for getting their service.

    thanks ,regards Worgeordie

  15. I live in Chiang Mai, and yesterday I bought some very good smoked bacon,

a really nice oak flavor, and it did not shrivel up when fried as most Thai

bacon does, maybe the best bacon I have had in Thailand.

On the lable it states it is made by Salungkham Restaurant ,Chiang Rai,

I have a daughter at M.F.U. ,so I visit Chiang Rai regularly ,and I am always

looking for decent places to eat, while I am up there,

So I would be grateful if anyone who knows Salungkham Restaurant and

has eaten there ,could give a report on type of food they serve and the

quality, as I am only going on how good their bacon is,

Last time I was up there, I followed the recommendation of this forum and

tried the Teak Cafe near to M.F.U. ,and pleased to report it was very good

    food and value for money.

Thanks for your time, and if you can recommend any other good places

to eat in Chiang Rai ,I would be grateful. regards Worgeordie
