  1. Many modern day fans are so blinded by the prospect of getting some multi billionaire who will copy Abramovich and pour endless millions into champagne signings, they dont seem to grasp that most these new Billionaires (apart from Abramovich) are in it to make money and not to waste cash on jumped up footballers, hence are using the clubs credit facilities to fund these unaffordable playboys.

Leeds got what they deserved because of this, and Newcastle and Chelsea got lucky with new owners just in the nick of time, im sure someone will buy Man City and they wouldnt go the way of Leeds.

Doesnt Thaksin still have a couple of Billion pound on top of whats been confiscated.

  2. I would hate to think that you really believe this. If people want to watch whatever Fox 'News' then that is fair enough, but I'm sorry this type of comment is just a joke. 'Most open to debate' - my arse. All News programs have a bias, but I think Fox just appeals to the lowest common denominator and can't be viewed as a serious venue to become informed about world affairs. Of course some people are not really concerned about any attempt at fairness and for them Fox is probably ideal. I would class Fox as a celebration of ignorance, but good luck to you. I see Fox as being very similar to 'The Sun' in England - you would never admit to reading it in front of somebody with half a brain in case they judged you a moron.

Being as i live in England and dont get Fox im not exactly a hardened viewer, and as it i owned by Rupert Murdoch its not going to be extreme right or even far right as its in his interest to keep the "status quo", it could be described as being nationalistic.

But the times i do watch it, it has fluffy liberals arguing their point against non to bright Republican Fox journalists, is this not "Open Debate" i never see this kind of debate on the intellectual stations such as the BBC or CNN.

Being as "The Sun" is the most popular paper in Britain plenty of people will admit to reading it, though im sure every single one of them can tell the difference between it and which ever full of sht rag folk read to give themselves delusions of grandeur.

Back to the OP it seems as if many on this forum have gained a dislike of the USA whilst living in LOS.

  3. Please don`t post in upper case letters (capital letters).
    WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING!!!!

This guy and his partner almost died by all accounts and is now being harrassed for 1000 of $$$$ by some shady businessman and people are being pedantic about him breaking that pathetic 13 year old girls rule of the internet..........unbelievable.

  4. But I am much more appreciative now that I am a US citizen with access to it's social services, colleges and beautiful clean parks.

The US has no social services and it's educational system is a joke. I know this because I read ThaiVisa and talk to Europoeans regularly. Maybe America has a clean park or two. You can't be from San Francisco, you must be a Republican glued to Fox News.

A fluffy liberal who is so enlightened and watches CNN and the BBC, please write more posts for us people who dont know better then to watch Fox News, which of all the global news stations is most open to debate despite being from a centre right stand point.

Almost every problem in the world today derives from the fact that the Democrats have lost the bulk of the national elections in the US over the past 25-30 years and still there are people defending Fox News. Incredible.

You overstate Americas importance, most conflicts around the world have nothing to do with America, 9/11 was planned under the Democrats, and the US was being attacked for years by these people under Clinton. Corruption throughout Asia and Africa and S America is not the USA's making these regions managed this all on their own.

But i can see why you like Thailand with its totalitarian govts & past, military coups, and lack are free press and internet.

I know little of American politics but maybe the Democrats need to change to attract the electorate as opposed to the electorate being branded stupid/racist/right wing or whatever comments socialists/commies use to brand people for not voting to pay more taxes and having less control of their life.

  5. Folks, i know this is a particular dodgy question but when you decided to make Thailand your full-time home, how much money did you have to do it??? I dont need the exact figure, just round it up :o

And, from thinking about making the leap to actually getting on the plane and doing it....how long???

No, i dont work for the Inland Revenue!!!!!! Just trying to work everything out and decide on timescales etc.

    GO FOR IT...................

Get ready for the i didnt move to LOS until i was a multi millionaire in pounds and anyone who does with less will get aids and die, and they are a scourge on Thai society.

Im 33 have a bit of cash (several million baht) and will work until im 42ish when i hope to have 500,000 GBP so i can live in LOS fulltime, in the meantime im looking to work offshore and will be qualified to get a decent job pretty soon on my time off i will live in LOS.

500,000GBP at 42 on the basis i will live for another 30 odd yrs is 15,000 GBP a year, more then enough to survive.

  6. I sometimes eat in street stalls, but my Thai friend definitely refuses on health grounds.

Thais know its not always the cleanest but ive never met one that doesnt eat some kind of street food.

There was a programme about how sandwiches are made by the big UK companies these factories were far dirtier then any street restaurant where at least you get to see how clean or dirty the cooking facilities are.

Some people have a "Thai friend" here to justify there point of view regarding Thai stuff they are not really sure about. I will bet my left nut that this Thai person doesnt exist so eat the food dude its bloody good stuff!!

I eat the meat and fish off the street but i couldnt eat Thai food even if it was made by Thailands greatest chef, which means eating English/Italian food that costs a lot in LOS.

  9. I must admit i hate the weather in my home country but i wouldnt go as far as saying i hate the west (western style life) just yet anyway.

    Does anyone here feel hatred?

When i'm in LOS for an extended period of time my dislike of the British/EU superstate weakens.

But my hatred of the Lib-Lab-Con establishment reaches maximum levels the second i land at Heathrow and see all the immigrants that have now taken over this country in the British passport queue, then i get questioned by some Polish girl about where ive been and where am i going before theyll let me back in. (This is called freedom!)

Furthermore my hatred of the European Union weakens when im in LOS, its a fascist regime and is intent on creating a communist super state and no electorate will stop it, Sarkozy who is a fool and the nicest thing i could wish him is an early death will make sure of this.

  10. 'As the guy was trying to leave the bar why attack him? More to the point what were the other farangs in the bar doing whilst all this was going on?'

I'll tell you what I would do in that situation, avoid the idiot. Coming from the UK i've read countless reports in the UK of good samaritans stepping in to stop violence or an ugly situation and end up taking a pasting or get killed. No thanks i'll finish my beer and leave or just pay and leave, lifes to short.

Agreed, i'll help a mate out in a fight, if he had done nothing wrong, but im not getting stabbed for helping some drunk in Soi 8.

Ive beaten friends up in England for trying to start drunken fights on the basis i am there to get involved should they start losing.

  11. Actually, the definition of best was left up to you. Everyone has their own values for what best means. I chose France though I have no desire to live there or even visit, so I didn't see it as best for me, just best objectively.

Just thought of another twist on thinking about this, what country would people want to be REBORN into in the next life? Its one thing being an immigrant, and another being a native.

    1950s england

ps france is not your utopia unless youre a hard core communist or socialist as they like to be known

  12. I believe there immigation laws are good for the Thai people, I also will have to go through the pain with hops etc.

But Thailand is very very popular with tourists and they would buy out all the good places for cheap and most of the Thai's would be missing out.

They have pushed up land prices out of the reach of 90% of Thais.

I hope they don’t start giving out visa’s to everyone and anyone so it becomes another multicultural divided nation like what we have in all of western Europe and North America.

    Keep Thailand for Thais.

  13. Does anyone know of any boxing schools in LOS that train Farangs who in their mind are like a slicker, powerful and faster version of Sugar Ray Leonard, but in reality couldnt punch their way out of a wet paper bag.

Im looking for Boxing as in the Queensbury rules version as opposed to Muay Thai as kicking is for girls.

Any experiences on where is good are greatly appreciated.

  14. Are these practices considered normal and acceptable behaviour by the gay community? If not, then why hasn't there been more police involvement in eradicating the problem? Are gay Farang tourists turning a blind eye to fellow gays procuring young boys for sex?

I haven't seen too many straight dudes take the high road while out whoring around either, I might add!

Ive never seen straight men walking hand in hand with clearly underage girls, where as ive seen gay men with boys who could have been no older then 14, i wanted to break his jaw but was advised to say and do nothing by the girl i was with.

  15. I'm 41 and will be arriving in Bangkok to live at the end of this month. I'm not sure how many years I'll end up in Thailand. I've done 35 years in Hong Kong, but now I'm leaving I doubt I'll ever come back here to live.

I also cannot imagine living in the UK, despite being English. It should be noted that I was born in Libya so not "from" the UK.

You have shocking credentials for claiming to be English.
