Yeah. Rumours Spurs and West Ham both in for Batshuyai. Apparently loan terms agreed with WHU but now just announced Palace are going to buy him!........edit, now a loan deal!

Why are you so naive to mention every rumour going ? and worse still you have to put them on here !

Well that was an interesting turn around and now it starts to look as though Poch was well justified in his FA Cup selection.

    What a funny old week!

To be fair Ronny, even before the results of the last few day's i thought we had enough of a buffer to not have to worry too much about last nights game that's why i didn't see a problem with playing a stronger team at Palace (hence why i was angry), even if it meant not taking 3 points last night.

I read something yesterday regards injuries and how it can effect a clubs season. We've suffered 28, City 18 yet Wolves only 4!!!

i seem to remember when Leicester won the league and Chelsea the last time neither had hardly any injuries.

Its so much more significant now with the amount of fixtures over a season, to the point you need to be lucky and not suffer bad ones.

    carms, it's 37 actually ????

Yep, one more bad result and they'll be calling for Poch again, a shame he's going nowhere ????

I appreciate £10 mil don’t buy you much but by your own admissions Llorente ain’t up to much anyway it wouldn’t take much to improve with out Kane up front.

As well as that a new face can freshen up the dressing room a bit and give everyone a lift and provide at least a little competition for Llorente.

The Lifelong supporter sounded genuinely peeved that he felt

Poch as good as threw away a good trophy opportunity rightly or wrongly.

    From Redknapp :

“It’s difficult to replace people – where are you going to find a top class player who is going to come in for just four and five weeks, but when Harry Kane is back fit you’ll be on the bench? It’s very difficult to find somebody.”

So in the past 2 seasons Spurs have bought several players around 10m but when somebody raises why not spend 10m our resident spurs expert (555) goes off on one again.

You spurs fans should remember your 81 FA cup victory  over City. Why do i raise it? Because  City were  struggling that season then john bond went out and bought 3 seasoned pros on the cheap and it turned our seaon around [(tommy Hutchinson (winger) . .gerry gow (midfield)..Bobby McDonald (LB)]. Maybe one decent pro in the 10-15m could help the Harry Kane Team kick on.

The conversation was about an understudy for 10m to Harry and iv'e already explained why it wouldn't be a good idea I.e.  having 3 centre forwards next month when H is fit

    Quote

So your advocating getting a 10m pound player to give competition to LLorente when we now have Son back and H will back in a months time.

So your comparing buying 3 old timers in 1981 with a 10m pound CF as understudy to one of the best CF'S in Europe in  2019 ????

Anyway you are now on ignore again Supergrass as you are boring me again.

It’s just an opinion Alfie. Not everyone has to see it your way. Im only repeating what some other lifelong fans were discussing last night.

Some may argue, as your own fans were on the radio that your squad doesn’t already have sufficient quality to progress any further and in a months time you may be struggling to hold on to 4th. It’s a matter of opinion, they are Spurs fans too so maybe not everyone is as expert as you on how your own club works.

Why dont you just stick to a discussion and accept not everyone has to agree with you and sort your anger issues out.

No anger issues just people like you come on here speaking rubbish telling us where we are going wrong, why don't you stick to sorting out your own clubs issues like being the 7th highest net spenders over the last 5 years and still looking over your shoulder at relegation !

Mind you, you did say something half sensible, that we should buy Crouchie ????

Anyway, so buying a 10m pound CF is really going to solve this

What your saying for Spurs to do is exactly what Poch implies he no longer wants to do, i.e load up the squad with players of insufficient quality.

Why don't you stick to the scammers thread as you really don't have a clue as to how Spurs work.

We'll be in the Champions league, you'll be lucky to get in the Europa cup. That's a fact!

I’m a big fan of Poch and what he has done at his disposal shows his class but yesterday I think he got it wrong despite prioritising a top 4 position.

Even despite your injury situation to make 7 changes to a side that lost 4 days earlier was pretty much giving up on any chance of Silverware this year. By not even having Eriksen on the bench, and it doesnt appear he is injured, just rested and with Watford, Leicester and Newcastle your next three games seemed an odd decision. It was a game in the balance and introducing someone of his quality could of changed the game. It was clearly winnable.

Maybe he was trying to send a message upstairs in a weakened version of what Mourinho was doing that he needs more players and at a minimum should spend the money they got for Dembele to freshen things up.

Listenong to the Radio 5 phone in after the game there was a mixed reaction to his decisions with some growing frustrations of being knocked out of 2 competitions in 4 days with some saying they would rather win a trophy than worry about a top 4 finish. One fan for 39 years stating that Poch should go as he has taken them as far as he can and he is a “loser” and you need a winning manager. A bit extreme but there does seems to be a growing divide among the supporters with some losing patience as to which direction the club should be going and what the priorities should be.

It's not more players we need it's less injuries and we can't just go out and replace them short term as A. it isn't cost effective B. you can only register 25 players.

Well 10m isn't going freshen anything up !!

To be fair some fans such as this one have very short memories, he must have seen enough lean years where we have struggled to even get in the top 8 and had some real crap players and he should be appreciating what Poch has done with little resources.

Yeah we all quite loath it.

Remind us, who are all these academy players you are referring to?

Well judging by Foden being a regular quite a few ????  incidentally you constantly ask this question ( do you have alzeimers ? ) and one of us answers so best you go back and have a look at previous posts.

  13. Haven't read any of the previous posts so might be repeating what has already been said. Anyway, i'm livid, ok we have a few injuries to key players but Poch didn't have to play such a weakened team and as soon as i see the team i knew we were going to struggle, one trophy we have a realistic chance of winning and he Farks it, play Eriksen, Lamela, Rose, Winks and rest them in midweek after all the Watford game isn't a must win where as yesterdays game was in my book.Strangely enough i thought we might struggle against Zaha and Townsend but they really didn't give us any problems and in Foyth i think we have found a great replacement for Alderweireld.

Huh? I explain that i have INTERPRETED something and your asking me to you SHOW you my interpretation?

    This is getting bizarre now.

I have given you my explanation of what i meant by REGULAR in my statement "This and last season Foden and Diaz have become 1st team regulars". = play regular, frequently or often. You either accept my explanation or you don't. Up to you.

So now you've changed things around again, now you say "i have interpreted"  when before you said

Stick to the crux of the arguement, not minor points, which was my use of the word REGULAR which i used to mean FREQUENTLY or OFTEN.

He has made five starts and 11 sub appearances (all competitions) this season, but despite the obvious contrasts with the relative success of his former teammates, huge optimism remains among club insiders that he will buck the trend and become the homegrown, first-team regular they have been craving.

I made a statement “This and last season Foden and Diaz have become 1st team regulars”.

Featuring only on Foden, as Diaz has left and is no longer relevant, my revised statement (as my original statement was intended to mean) is as follows “This and last season Foden has played REGULARLY and FREQUENTLY and OFTEN for the 1st team”.

Thailand is simply not as appealing as it once was to expats looking to relocate or long term expats and some of the reasons are-

    -  Rising Baht and rising prices-  Products from the USA/Europe/Australia are 5 x the cost of the home country while Thai products sold abroad are sold at lower prices.  Not everyone can eat Thai food every day.

-While rents are low compared to home country- prices of Condominiums with space and land prices in the major urban areas have risen tremendously.

-The quality of most Thai products are poor and the Chinese imports are worse- to get a good quality product one has to purchase Korean/Japanese or Western at much higher prices.

=The Immigration conundrum- After 40 years married to a Thai- I still have to get together all my yearly paperwork and head to Immigration in the hopes they will let me stay one more year.  My wife's US Permanent Residency took less than 60 days to obtain; gave her unlimited access to the US forever and no 90 day reporting.  No such reciprocity in Thailand. I can't even apply for PR in Thailand due to not working in Thailand for at least a decade and no current tax payments.

-The weather in Thailand is no longer appealing- it has gotten much hotter over the decades and with the increase in traffic- the pollution has made  many of the Thai cities unlivable and there is no plan to do anything about it.   Most of the beaches are filthy and the water unhealthy to swim in.

-The Police- completely untrustworthy and an industry in themselves-

-Wealth disparity-  a situation that is  so serious that IMHO it is a national emergency- it is true the rich are getting vastly richer and the poor are remaining vastly poorer.  Many have lost hope- turning to  alcohol and drugs to relieve the pain. Working as a clerk in 7 or the big box producers for 9-10K a month is going to work much longer.

Yet- with all of the above stated- I am still going to remain because of family  and the fact that the majority of Thai people that I interact with are still polite; still resourceful and still basically honest. The majority of them live day by day toiling to stay alive and provide for their families. It is their country and only they can change it...

    -

Seems like you are an expert on the cost of produce throughout the world REMARKABLE ! perhaps you could give us some examples of each country for comparison.
