  1. Just a question for the idiots on here defending the PAD, have any of you been affected by loss of earnings or had flights cancelled over the past three days?

if any of you say you have been affected this way then I say now you are liars

    Loss of earnings; yes.

Flights couldn't be booked, plans changed; Yes.

    Liar; no.

    Screaming, angry, intolerant; no.

Making the best of it; yes.

    Imported packages delayed; yes.

Really caring about your opinion of me; not hardly.

well I hope you enjoy your life with a big footprint in your back as I am sure thats how you live your life. personally I call a spade a spade and the PAD are criminals with no more right to peaceful removal from the airports. Lets hope your business goes down the pan while you defend these criminals, in fact tell us the name of your business so I can sure to never use it

  2. < snipped >

I've already deferred to your much more realistic and logical alternative that you have suggested: organising an angry mob of farang to liberate Suvarnabhumi from PAD. I can almost visualise those tourists with two small children running amok. I'm with you on your posse, just let me know where to sign up.

And I won't reply further here to your gibberish.

Clearly you've never dealt with a soiled diaper. They're lethal weapons during any siege.

having been personally affected by the PADs actions I don't agree with your stance John, however this comment is funny :o

  3. Also regarding the contact lenses, I misspoke myself. The lens will fuse to your eyeball. Whenever there is a riot orm other situation in a public venue, there may be chilldren and seniors present. It is not always possible to segregate the combatants. The point is the agents are non-lethal, and the use of them is more humane and results in less death or injury than storming the place which willresult in gunfire and a good chance of innocents getting killed in crossfire. This is comon sense. I sent email to my old co-workers in NY and they find it hard to believe that some people on this forum are so clueless. Even non-law enforcement types should realize what needs to be done here.

and even law enforcement types should realize that is for the Prime Minister to resign.

Your co-workers back in NY might even agree with that one if you emailed them and asked.

yeah that will solve the problem :o oh no wait, it won't solve the peoblem, it will set a precendent for future groups who are unhappy wth the government and let them know that acts of terrorism is all that is needed to remove the government. if they quit now it will be the red shirts on the streets aiming to remove whoever replaces them, however it will be the same result in the next election leading to the same situation.

PAD need to be stamped out now, they are in the wrong with their actions, however right they may be with their agenda, their actions have shown them to be nothing more than a selfish mob who have affected thailand negatively than any government could.

What do you want them to do sit in a field in the middle of Issan waving yellow flags at rice paddies ??????

well this all depends on whether you want a sensible conversation with me about what I expect them to do, your ridiculous condecending remark leads me to think otherwise.

however here is a novel idea, they protest within the law, how does that sound to you or do you want to condone criminal acts?

over to you, a simple yes or no will do, do you condone criminal acts, yes or no?

  5. people talk about vote buying as though it decided the election, who is to say that these voters were not going to vote PPP anyway.

mp- "Hi I am your local PPP candidate, can I rely on your vote?"

voter- (thinks) i am voting PPP but sinceI know you are paying I will play ignorant.

    "I am not sure"

    mp- "we will pay you"

    voter- "ok"

ok very simplified but i wonder what percentage would vote PPP anyway

People's Alliance for Democracy Announcement 26/2008

    on

The Ultimatum for the Prime Minister to Resign Immediately and Without Condition

    โดย ASTVผู้จัดการออนไลน์ 26 พฤศจิกายน 2551 09:08 น.

    The People's Alliance for Democracy (killer mob) has been rallying continuously since May 25, 2008 for 2 main objectives;

    1. To prevent the rewriting of the 2007 Constitution (that was written by an illegal coup) by the proxy government of ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra who are trying to amend the charter (that white washed the crimes committed by the illegal coup) to whitewash the crimes committed by Thaksin and his cronies and to destroy the country's judiciary system. The PAD also strives to prevent the proxy government from abolishing the Privy Council, a move which the PAD considers to be a direct violation of His Majesty the King's authority.

The current Thai Parliament is also considered (by the mobs opinion) to be under Thaksin's complete control. It has committed various wrongdoings and violated election laws (that are being looked into according to legal Thai law and not a vigilante mob) , yet continues to claim it represents the people of Thailand. But in truth, the proxy Parliament is a sale to any highest bidding politician( another propaganda opinion by the mob). The Constitution court's imminent deliberation of a various party dissolution cases against several of the government coalition partners is proof enough of the fact that Thakin's proxy government is not a truly 'constitutional' government of Thailand (If they have come to this conclusion they should be desolved by the court and not by a vigilante mob that has no legal jurisdiction).

    2. To drive out the killer government( the killing was caused by faulty tear gas canisters from China used against an unruly mob assaulting police) (and the killings by PAD are OK) that has shamelessly acted as a nominee for fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra. The government is clearly behind the ruthless killings of Thai citizens, manipulated state media (ASTV has not manipulated any propagana?), supports the destruction of the Thai judiciary system, exploits the country's national budget, condones lese majeste actions (Are you kidding?), lacks any ethical standing and therefore is deemed to be an illegitimate government (by a minority mob which the mob of armed gunmen have decided) think which is not fit to administer the Kingdom.

For the above reasons the People's Alliance for Democracy has been rallying peacefully and without arms (except for the gunman shooting off of the PAD truck last night), a right which is sanctioned by the 2007 Constitution Article 63. Article 70 stipulates that a Thai citizen has the responsibilities to protect the 3 pillars of the country; the nation, religion and the King and the nation's constitutional monarchy (and take over government buildings and stop international air traffic).

However, during the course of the rally the lives and safety of supporters of the People's Alliance for Democracy have been in constant jeopardy. The government is also clearly involved in masterminding various violent attacks against the PAD. It has also turned a blind eye when the PAD was attacked with weapons of war on more than 10 occasions. The ruthless attacks have resulted in countless injuries and 4 deaths. Several attacks were also targeted at the ASTV headquarters in an attempt to prevent that station from broadcasting live the PAD rally (Have you forgot to mention the attack on PBS meant to do the same??) . The government has yet to take any responsibility for the underhanded sabotage attempts.

(Has the PAD taken responsibility for its attacks?)

Three Senate committees, tasked with investigating the violence and bloodshed of the October 7th incident, have found that the PM Somchai Wongsawat and his Cabinet ministers are to be held responsible for the injuries and deaths of the protesters. Their findings coincide with that of the National Human Rights Commission. Premier Somchai must take responsibility for the tragedy by resigning immediately and without any condition.

The People's Alliance for Democracy has called for a final mass rally to stop the (democraticly elected government untill the courts dissolve them) traitorous government and proxy Parliament on November 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. The final rally is well into its 50th hour and the supporters of the PAD have been pressuring the traitorous government to step down with peaceful means (other than the taxi drivers being shot) . Armed with only the plastic hand clappers (and pistols used in the taxi driver shooting) , the PAD protesters have marched to various key locations including Parliament, Finance ministry, the Metropolitan Police Bureau and the government's temporary seat at Don Muang Airport. However, to no avail, the proxy government has failed to show any sign ( of stepping down to an illegal mob) of remorse or any intention to step down as demanded by the PAD. In addition, it continues to cling on to power and is determined to amend the charter for the interests of its puppet master and his associates.

The People's Alliance for Democracy is left with no choice but to ( lose more face and look stupid to the international community) step up its peaceful rally ( other than shooting a few taxi drivers on the way there )by blocking off access to the Suvarnabhumi Airport. This is considered to be an ultimatum for Somchai Wongsawat and the Cabinet to resign immediately and without any condition.

The people's alliance apologizes for any inconvenience (in causing a billion baht of losses to Thailand so far to maintain mob rule)the closure of the Suvarnabhumi Airport may cause to the public and international visitors to the Kingdom of Thailand. But the PAD believes the measure is crucial to bring an end to the (democracy of Thailand) traitorous-killer government.

The PAD is calling for the public from all walks ( lizards and snakes included) of life to join the PAD movement and call for the current administration to resign immediately to ( end democracy in Thailand) protect Thailand from more harm and to restore (mob rule instead of democracy) morals to the Thai society without any further delay.

With deepest respect (to the brainwashed fools that would be stupid enough to belive this BS) , People's Alliance for Democracy Tuesday, November 25, 2008

there are n hand clapping smileys or i would have given you one, good response

  7. Thanks for that info, I will try Mo Chit then and hopefully will be offered a refund for our plane tickets as well(on their homepage, air asia is not quite clear about this and their lines are too busy to get through at the moment).

    Basch

yes airsia is now just an engaged tone, i was lucky to get through this morning after a 3o minute hold listening to that annoying music. They were very forthcoming though on a refund, she asked if i wanted it or wanted to wait until the situation dies down so i could make a clearer decison on changing the flight. like i say i wasgoing to change the flights to chang mai to Kl and she said i could pay the difference, take a refund or wait until the bangkok to kl flight is available, Nok air is an option for you, they have offers at the moment although I am a little peeved about them refusing me a refund (although it does say no refunds on the ticket I am sure I will get it as legal battles end up costing them more in the long run)

  8. Assuming I will not be able to go to Chiang Mai by plane with airasia tomorrow(so much for the first and only holiday to get out of bangkok in years for us) I am wondering how many people in the same situation have tried to buy train tickets instead and if so, what is the situation there? It is impossible to call the train station (always busy) and if someone knows the current situation at Hua Lamphong any info would be appreciated, probably there is utter chaos as well cuz of this but then again, who knows...

    Basch

I contacted air asia this morning as my flight was cancelled and they offered other flights (when the airport opens) or a refund. I had to get to KL for a meeting so opted to try Nok Air from don meaung to hat yai and was then preparing to travel by coach, I paid 4200 baht for a business class seat one way as thats all that was left. i checked in nd then my meeting was postponed which means I will not fly, i am now back at home. Nok Air are refusing a refund.

you could try nok air from don meaung, this airport is still operational. This morning i looked at a coach to chang mai in the hope of flying to KL from there with air asia, however the price was double what it was from bangkok. the coach however from mo chit would have cost 580 baht and take 9 hours, it leaves at 9pm

  9. i just drove to don meaung to buy a ticket for nok air to hat yai. My 7.10 am flight to kl was cancelled this morning from swampy.

what was going to be a nice two hour flight followed by a business meeting this evening has now turned into flying to hat yai, then finding a bus for the 10 hour road journet to KL arriving at stupid o'clockand having to meet tomorrow whilst tired.

I have not even contemplated how I will get back yet

    PAD crminals and scum

edit to say I saw none of these scum at the domestic terminal at don meaung

    PAD wrong to block airport

The People's Alliance for Democracy's blockade of the Motorway entrance to Suvarnabhumi airport is a wrong and unnecessary move.

This ill-conceived disruption of one of the main roads leading to the country's most important international airport will get the PAD nowhere in its claimed agenda of toppling the government or any nominees of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, or making Thai politics less prone to manipulation by money barons.

In fact, this move will only further erode the rapidly dwindling public support, a hard-earned provision that the protesters badly need especially at this critical juncture of its campaign.

The damage to the PAD, however, cannot compare with that caused to the country. Suvarnabhumi airport is the main gateway to the Kingdom.

The PAD's reason for the road blockage - to prevent Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat from returning home from Peru, where he has been attending the Apec summit - is ludicrous, as news reports say Mr Somchai will not be arriving in Bangkok until this afternoon, and he could very well choose to land elsewhere upon learning of the PAD's action.

In fact, there are reports that authorities have prepared both U-tapao and Chiang Mai airports for the prime minister to land in case of emergency.

So, the PAD's road block only serves to hurt ordinary Thais going about their business and foreigners coming to Thailand on vacation or business.

The PAD's march on the Motorway entrance to the airport yesterday prompted members of its rival groups - the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) and the pro-Thaksin taxi drivers' association - to try a counter-attack.

The resulting melee caused major traffic jams in and around the airport, resulting in extreme inconvenience for people who had to use the airport. This is absolutely not fair treatment for anybody at all.

Beyond the day's immediate chaos, the impact of the PAD's reckless action on the country's tourism industry will be immense and difficult to rectify.

Even before the PAD attempted its boneheaded move to partially block access to the civil airport yesterday, up to 14 countries had already issued advisories warning their citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Thailand, and to exercise caution if they do visit.

According to Apichart Sankary, president of the Association of Thai Travel Agents, the protracted political tension is estimated to be costing the country 400 million baht each day in lost tourist revenue.

The National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) has a similarly gloomy story to tell.

Due to the higher cost of travelling and our domestic disturbance, foreign tourist arrivals were down 16.5% while the average rate of occupancy at hotels around the country dropped to 45%.

Tourism-related revenue accounts for about 6% of the national economy, and had been forecast to reach about 700 billion baht this year - a goal that is unlikely to be met now.

Put these figures into the context of real life and we will see a picture of so many people who depend on the industry for their livelihood, who will have to suffer more and more as those numbers keep going down.

The PAD has the right to peaceful demonstration. But blocking access to an international airport does not fit that description.

This latest action by the People's Alliance for Democracy comes closer to terrorising the public.

  12. I hope none of you is flying in or out of Suwannaphumi tonight or tomorrow. If you go to www.manager.co.th now, you can see a photo on the main page showing the PAD completely block off access to & from the Suwannaphumi airport. There are lots of traffic behind which is getting nowhere. I hope Songhi is sensible and not close the airport.

i have a flight at 7.10 am, but i am sure if i ask nicely they will all move, they are all peace loving after all :o

  13. Protesters disperse from Supreme Command

Protesters blocking the entrance of the Supreme Command head office dispersed Tuesday afternoon and headed to the Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Their leaders announced at 4:30 pm that the rally at the Supreme Command would disperse and the protesters would head to the airport instead.

    The Nation 24/11/2008

oh great I have a flight booked for 7.10am tomorrow, ah well i am sure there won't be many left at swampy by that time :o

  14. SRJ ---- surely people from Isaan are not coming to join the PAD! Only Thaksin is loved in Isaan!!

    :D

Sorry to disappoint them, but there are PAD contingents and offices in Khon Kaen, Korat, Udon Thani, Buriram, Ubon, etc.

    Hi SRJ,

I am in Ubon, can you please send me the address/phone number of PAD here,my wife would like to get involved.

Can send me a PM if you don't want it posted.

    Cheers,

    Blue Scouse.

ah a fellow scouser (albeit with a strange choice of football team) with some masterful sarcasm :o

  15. Werbs .. your hyperbole and shifting of tactics every time ... sad

There was an order for the PAD to leave Government House. That order was appealed and there is an injunction against it being enforced until the court decides. So there is at THIS time no legal reason for them not to be there. IMHO they are in effect having a very well organized sit-in.

If you are unfamiliar with the events of Sept 2nd please review them.

Attacked police .. you mean on October 7th? Asked and answered .. the Senate says the police were wrong and that they caved to political pressure.

Weapons? --- apparently I would prefer for my enemies to have a baseball bat in front of ASTV than military ordinance tear-gas launchers!

well we will just have to agree to disagree. at no point have i changed my stance,i think you are choosing to read what you want to read.

If you wish to support the criminal masses go ahead, in fact if you are so confident about their peaceful activities and believe in their stance please feel free to don a yellow t shirt and go and join them.

is this something you are likely to do? no, i thought not, all talk and no action

  16. Werbs the court has not said they have no right to be there (Gov't House), but we were in particular talking about your observations at ASTV!

The events outside of Gov't House on Sept 2nd ending in the death of the unfurtunate UDD thug happened when the UDD attacked the PAD.

The events of the 7th of October when 2 were killed and 400+ wounded were started by the police and the responsibility for the deaths has been resolved in a Senate Inquiry.

I am sincerely concerned that you would keep a child in a school near all of this though! If I had schoolage children they certainly would not be in a school in an area that even my embassy (usually clueless) says to avoid!

why should the courts have to say they can't be there? they are trespassing and could be arrested for the tresspass except sheer volume of numbers make this difficult. how about i break into your condo and say its politically motivated and put an armed guard on the door, is that ok with you?

as for my daughter, she can not go to school, this is the whole point I am trying to make, she has had to miss so many days this year. and lets be honest she has been going to school there well before the criminals started acting up, we chose the school because its good, it wasnt chosen with the hinsight that we now have that the area would be over run with criminals

as for ASTV, I have seen them armed there and elsewhere in the area

as for your comments about the UDD 'thug', i suppose its ok for the PAD to use thugs for murder and mayhem. this is where your logic falls down, you are suggesting that it was ok for the PAD to murder someone from the UDD because he attacked them (speculation), yet its not ok for the police to defend themselves when they come under attack (as can be seen in the clips above)

  17. Werbs I am sure you did not mean to threaten me :o

So, people guarding ASTV do not have shotguns and military tear gas launchers? But you imply they have weapons like a baseball bat? WOW The guards at my condos have batons and a blackjack they must be PAD!

You are free to go back through the media reports about the Jeep :D You may as well skip the first reports from the police etc ... and instead focus on the rest. BTW the jeep was obviously not 'loaded with explosives'.

of course its not a threat.

the guards at your condo have a job to do, the guards at government house have no right to be there, they have no right to carry weapons.

now if you think getting killed by a baseball bat is nicer than getting shot and killed then i pity your sensibilities.

the fact is that the PAD are not intersted in peaceful demonstrations and repeated efforts by posters to dispute this makes them look ridiculous
