  1. IT, it is one way of having a smooth ride into house/land ownership in Thailand inclusive of the card price, as compared to other parts of the world when purchasing property. When I look at it that way, the cards look viable on that alone, at it's current 1 double K price.

    Happy new year, Garry

p.s. not all ideas are like mud guards...shiny on top, crapola underneath... :o

  2. Hi George and thanks for your help, when I dial the 06677 the operator cuts in and tells me that the no I have dialed has not been reconised. I have tried 066 and 66 then the 77, I am desperate to contact this person as he does not always answer his text messages but he tells us he receives them with no problems. other than this being an inconvience I would also like to solve this mystery

Maybe this is too simple, but send your friend an SMS (they're getting through, like you said...right..!?) to give you a quick call and to make sure their number forwarding is turned on. Hopefully when you use your redial function, you SHOULD get a direct connection, but I have been known to be wrong before... :o

  3. I think some people in the ministry are laughing their collective <deleted> off, all the way to the bank.

There is a sucker born every minute, or so they say and I ain't talking dirty either... :o

  4. I finally replied to my last Nigerian e-mail, where they wanted to transfer USD$14,500,000.00 into my account.

With my sense of humor, I couldn't help myself and sent them a lovely reply saying I don't do any money transfers under USD$200,000,000.00 and get back to me when they have the money. Guess what, I never got an answer back. I put a colour filter on their e-mail address and it definitely never came back again.

Jeez, I crack myself up.... :o

  5. ECONOMIC REFUGEES

This phrase always comes to mind when so called refugees go past numerous country boundaries (who are willing to accept them I might add), to find the most viable (free moola & a free ride) country to try and have squatters rights in.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. I feel better now...!!!

    Have a nice one :o

  6. 2003/2004 Mercedes Sports Coupe with retractable hard-top...9,900,000 Baht

It never ceases to surprise me the price of exotic cars in Thailand. This one I saw at Lotus / Robinson in Chiang Mai a short time back. The same car here in the Middle East is around 3,000,000+ baht. Amazing mark-up. Now I know how thailand is paying some of its inflation bills.

The roads over here are also quite capable of taking speeds 300+ kph for the experienced driver, but then you only have to watch out for (dangerous wildlife) camels, donkeys and the odd goat wandering accross the road. Methinks I'll go slow. :o

  7. Hi all, being a constant trawler of info on the Net, I have noticed that embassy sites (well the Australian one at least and I would imagine others as well) have lists of reputable clinics in the various cities, which I'm sure could steer you in the right direction for possible treatmant or advice.

  8. Well said Bronco,

but as you probably know, the people (or so called do-gooders in their mind/s) who haven't got a life need to involve themselves in others peoples lives to get a life...!!!

    Merry X-mas mate :o

    Gazza

p.s. It's nice weather here in Oman in the MIddle East..northern hemisphere weather. But not brass monkey weather..thank god.

  9. Damnit, I could only vote ONCE...!?...lol.

I have my list here in relative order, with my other half helping me as well.

    1. Hennessy Cognac (for special days)

    2. Jack & Coke

    3. J/W Black & Coke (when I can't buy Jack or afford Hennessy)

    4. Baley's neat on the rocks, in fact this could come around second as my lady is giving me a dig in the ribs that it should be up higher.

    5. Anything else beer wise that wets the whistle and goes down smooth and icey cold.

Damnit (that's twice now) I'm feeling thirsty..right missus, get ya kit on, we're going out (another dig in the ribs---that's twice as well).

Cheers all and Merry X-Mas, Gazza :o

  10. I have a 2002 Yamaha Dragstar XVS1100A Classic Cruiser and was wondering about import duties.

Would someone be able to tell me how much duty/tax is involved, for example, am I looking at 50% mark-up or whatever (Hopefully not luxury car tax, which is astronomical in Thailand), if I want to import my motorcycle from overseas.

I'm not worried about trying to usurp the authorties and carry this out behind their backs, as I want to do it in a bonafide/legal way. I already have shipping and package fees sorted out, if I decide to ship it pending on import taxes...

If it is around 40-50% of current market value, then I am prepared to pay the tax, as this bike is too valuable to me to let go, otherwise it will have to stay out of country.

Please no "your crazy" answers, just some valid replies.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Merry X-Mas,

    Garry
