This has been in force for years national parks, water falls etc. so when thai people obtain a visa and come to let’s say Australia maybe they should pay for entry into places that charge a fee, and we be allowed to enter for free? Yeah not likely. Same as a local market I went to some time ago with the Thai mrs. she bought a pineapple got it chopped up etc 40 baht, it tasted lovely so I went on my own to get another same size, she said 65 baht? I called the mrs over who had a go at her oh sorry she said I make mistake, I couldn’t help myself I said come to my country everybody pays same same not farang price and Thai price

Well still a tad confusing my mate phoned the embassy here in Sydney they advised him he does not need to have his documents notarised and bound?? They said must get a JP to witness the documents, one problem my mate says there is no place for a JP to sign? I told him get a JP to sign every page. Mind you he may sort all this take it to the Embassy and they may change their mind on the above. Thank you to all on here for offering assistance

But not shown on the Sydney consulate website. Not sure if that is a mistake or their new policy. I would suggest anybody apply there to confirm.

Thanks for your reply it is a bit confusing as you say. I have told my mate to make a call to the Thai Embassy sydney  to confirm as to what they require 

Did my o/a visa back in 2011 and needed to get all documents sorted and then to a lawyer to be bound and notarised, my mate here in Aus has been here since November sick his 0/a has expired he is going through the process again and says they don’t require being notarised? Can any members advise on this

Tiago you really have put yourself in a very awkward situation. Firstly you should not have touched this bag it could have held explosives, you should have left it alone and advised airport security or staff. There are warnings in many countries about this. In saying this I hope you are ok and have learnt  your lesson.

Ok thanks they will probably get confused as they notice my o/a visa which expired 2 years ago. So could be a wait at passport control

Just a quick question I did have a o/a retirement visa for a few years but had to return to Australia for health reasons. Got my aged pension now served my 2 year travel ban and I am good for wheels up. So am leaving 27 October returning 26 November. Question is do I need a tourist visa? I don’t think I do but some people are saying I do.

Plenty of original copies about ?

A good mate of mine with a retirement visa living in Pattaya left thail in August 2017 for major surgery for skin cancer. Then radiation and now waiting on plastics to these areas doing it tough. So I advised him I would check on here for him. He is worried about his yearly extension of stay due July 2018. I advised him he may be able to sort this at the Thai Embassy here in sydney? Can any kind member advise. Please

Pattaya needs to get tough and stop Songkran going on far too long 10 days or more crazy. 2 days is enough. Any wonder so many expats get out of town

A very good mate has been very sick in various Hospitals in Udon Thani.in a Coma for a long time.He is slowly getting well,but unable to walk.he advised his lady to check his o/a Visa.he was over due by 2 months for a 90 day report.she attended Immigration in Udon.told he must pay?? yeah great almost passed away in Hospital.in a bed for months.

\,and they want cash? she took doctors bills,photos of the Hospitals.pictures of him in Hospital bed.still told must pay.Great way to look after Farang.who retire in Thailand and spend money.

She is now trying to speak with someone in Immigration at the Airport who she was put onto.hopefully she can get it sorted.

I assume you have been getting extension of stay at immigration not a OA visas from an embassy or consular for the past 6 years.

If you leave your extension will end on that day. You would only need a re-entry permit if you wanted to keep it valid.

I will obtain a tourist visa when I return for holls.

Just a quick question. I have been living in Thailand for 6 years with my o/a Visa.I am heading back for good in a few months.House sold here etc etc.Will continue to return here maybe once a year with a tourist Visa.I gather my o/a will be finished,no problem. Do i require to get a re entry permit before i leave.i think not but just checking..
