  1. That's 60 litres a minute with the 1 inch outlet wide open at the pump face. Definitely not after the water has been through a maze of 1/2" pipes angles and tees and then to your upstairs rain shower.

I think the main benefit of this pump is its compact and claims to be quiet. But I expect it is very similar to other 150 watt pumps.

its not even a 1 inch inlet but 3/4 of an inch according to the specs on the pdf file.

  2. Saturday I will check with the Buriram water pump technician who repairs my Hitachi Inverter water pump and obtain his opinion on the new line of Hitachi Automatic Turbine Pumps. Hitachi Pumps are distributed in Thailand by two reputable wholesalers, Toyobo is a major distributor as is Hitachi Sales Thailand. Prices on Hitachi water pumps and actual policy of warranty repairs can vary from retailer to retailer in my observation.

    what was his opinion ?

  3. So i am looking for a constant pressure water pump for a 2 story building which has 4 bathrooms. I was in home pro and the staff told me that this new pump could give water to 7 outlets simultaneously. Its only 150 watt and is supposed to give 60 liters a minute. I did some measuring and 1 shower uses 9 liters a minute (that is with a rain shower head). So 4 showers and 3 sinks at the same time will not exceed 60 liters a minute i think.

Anybody knows anything about this new turbine pump ?

  4. Ridiculous visa runs and checks every 90 days

I haven't done a visa run since 2008, perhaps if you were eligible for a proper long stay visa you'd have been alright.

    Maniacal drivers with death wishes

If you drive defensively, I find the roads very safe.

Chinese tourists for a bunch of reasons

They get a bad press, but every Chinese person I've met in person has been polite and friendly. And their skirts are to die for......

Black smoke billowing out of MANY vehicles

Very few cars have this problem in recent years.

Songtaews and tuk tuks for a hundred reasons

Occasionally I pay 18B for a Songtaew that takes me 25km. I find this service very helpful. Otherwise I don't interact with them, but I can't see why there would be a problem.

    Paying " farang" prices

    Speak Thai, it doesn't happen.

Did I mention the garlic wreaking money hungry Thai women ( and the hookers are worse )

Maybe its because I stink of garlic, but I have to say I haven't noticed the women smelling particularly bad. In fact, they smell lovely. And money hungry? Maybe its because you had nothing else to offer?

Having to whisper when discussing the ROYAL FAMILY

I don't talk about the Royal Family. They have no impact on my life, so why should I? Just like England.

    Censors and the junta shit

Censors - Zenmate. Junta? No impact on my life since coming to power.

The ransom prices of western food

??? I can eat western food here for far less than I can back in England.

    The slowness of the Internet

??? I get 13MB download in country, and sufficient to stream HD internationally. This isn't slow as far as I am aware.

The wonderment of the burning season

You've missed it this year, AQI has barely crept above 100.

Paying overvalued amounts for ALL vehicles both new and used

My truck in the UK, around 1,000,000B. Here I bought new at 618,000B. Maintenance, fuel and insurance all substantially cheaper here.

Ordering 5 things in a restaurant and arriving 5 different times

And your problem? People order and eat together. The soup arrives, we eat soup, some veg arrive, we eat veg, the curry arrives, we eat curry, but there's still some soup and veg, so we eat that, the yam arrives, we're ordering more beer. Dining here is a fantastic social experience - you wanting Thailand to be like home is your problem.

One should never live in a country where you can't drink the tap water

That rules out nearly the entire world.

The lack of English spoken and the lack of desire to learn

Why should they? This is Thailand. Do you learn the language of the foreigners who visit (that's what you were doing with your visa that required border runs) your country?

    xenophobic, status conscience, selfish population

    Pot, meet kettle.

    Loudspeaker trucks

    You got me.

Hot than hell MOST of the time

    Benefit.

Shopping malls where most Thai people can't afford to buy anything

Where most Thais don't visit, because most Thais don't live within 50km of one.

Having to support a family that EXPECTS me to do it

Again, this is probably because you had nothing else to offer.

Corrupt police ( all of them )

    This comes with benefits.

And why are you back here again?

This made my day. Best reply ever , Mods can close this topic now.

  5. There are in fact water filter shops all over Thailand. My first water filter was a Mazuma stainless steel tank with carbon I bought in 2006 at Buriram Supply Appliance Store near the Bamboo Bar in Buriram. I've recently bought more sophisticated water improvement filters and had them installed and maintained by a Buriram water pump shop. I believe most every province will have at least one water pump specialist that offers several price ranges of water purification. I've had my water tested for 1500 baht in Buriram at Rajabhat University in 2015. In my wife's village home I use a Netafim sediment filter for well water.

can you explain why you got rid of the mazuma system ? and also could you show your current system ?

  6. So I am having a house build with a flat concrete roof and was wondering if putting in a radiant barrier would be a good idea. In the past I have build houses with a sloped roof and always put the aluminium foil under the roof battens which helped a lot in keeping the heat out.

I still have a few rolls of the thin foil left but if there is a better material for flat roofs i won't mind buying that. I have seen the bubble foil but not sure if that is effective.

  7. So i have a 2 storey building under construction now and I would like to know what is the best way to make the floor as to make it the most soundproof between rooms on the first and second floor.

Normally the thai builders first put a lot of these 35cm wide concrete plates and after that pour concrete over it.

Would it be better to pour the whole floor in 1 piece without using the plates (and of course use more and thicker steel).

I already have a lot of plywood laying around that I can use for scaffolding.

  8. hope you can afford the petrol

They are nice but thirsty brutes

thirsty ? according to this website 1:25 to 1:29 liter to km http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/royal_enfield/classic_500

    Brutes ? the 500 produces a whopping 29hp......

or was your comment meant to be sarcastic ? somehow i believe not

    1.25 liter per km?

    somehow papa believe not

did you see the punctuation ? anyway, click the link and it should be easy to understand even for papa wink.png

  9. Er, no. XLCH/XLCR every day of the week. A very under rated motorcycle. I have a soft spot for Sportsters, Ironheads, as well as pre 03 Evos. They f##ked them up completely 03 on with rubber mounting the engine (for gays), 06 with FI, and even worse, for mechanics, you now have to split the cases to do any g/box work, doing away with the trap door/ cassette type cluster that had been fitted to Sportsters since year dot. Rant over.

The harley xlcr looks awesome. Its the only Harley I would not mind having a go on.(only for a very short ride though)

Ducati however got both looks and handling. wink.png

  10. passifier.gifpassifier.gifpassifier.gifpassifier.gifpassifier.gifpassifier.gifpassifier.gif He was cramped at 1.68m? so this is a bike for children, designed, no doubt by accountants.

The Benelli 25 is a full 250cc, is only 5,000baht more and is a proper adult's bike........and sounds like a bike?

But you are right, it will sell well, there are plenty of kids out there who have rich parents at their mercy and can get extortionate credit rates, then let them out helmet-less to kill themselves.

I child's bike that goes like shit off a shovel, Jaaasus begora, just what we need.....

did not see the specs yet but somehow i have a feeling it might be faster than your 200cc DELETED passifier.gif

That's the problem..that's what "shit off a shovel" means. The damn thing is really fast, but designed for a 12 year old...don't you think that is just a tad dangerous.

Not sure that 12 year old's still use dummies, but I get the point....in case you are taking the piss.

You don't know what you're talking about mate, you haven't even seen it!

It is a full size bike for adults. I have sat on it and it seems fine for me and I'm taller than Omega.

The shop I was at had the Benelli's too, and they looked crap in comparison to this Yamaha. The Yamaha looks bigger too.

I think the point Pokerkid was trying to make was that why would anyone pay 5000B more for a bike that 1. is slower and 2. is Chinese?

actually i misunderstood the phrase " shit of a shovel" lol

  11. Honda is still number 1 motorcycle manufacturer on Earth and in Thailand .

    attachicon.gifImageUploadedByThaivisa Connect1449219931.736287.jpg

Honda number one? If your unites sold table is any indication we could say that Honda is not even in the top 3…

well, they are the best selling bike manufacturer on earth period. About Thailand i would think as well. maybe not at this particular motorshow but why don't we compare the Thai sales figures for 2015 when they are available and come back to this topic.....

  13. Yes.

Not a nice feeling knowing that after 40 years of riding motorbikes you are sitting on a bike designed for teenagers and women ?

I would expect someone who is that old has that much experience not to fall for a simple marketing ploy but judge a bike on its own merits.

Yes you'd think so but alas I am an easily influenced old fool.

Think I'll stay old skool and kick start my life everyday with the good old SR400 ?

you can never go wrong with an sr400 but I suggest you to take the Duc for a spin. Its just such a good ride.
