    That's not it.  According to the Home Secretary, if your declaration states travel other than that currently permitted, you will be sent home - her words.

    ...should be no problem then, you're going home.

    They told me six months, and it's more than that now, I don't mind waiting, but if they would just acknowledge that they got my email.

    Go to their main (UAE) website and use the webchat to chase it up.  Make sure you have the ticket number to hand and they can quickly look at the status.  You will communicate with a person, not a bot, and get an email of the conversation for your records.  Only problem might be they will be rather busy again now due to the UK shutting down flights through UAE.

    I have a Thai driving licence and a bank account yes - thanks for the suggestions. However, I can only get a 3 month Non O from the Thai embassy in the UK, they stopped issuing 12 month multis when they went over to the E-Visa system.  I very much doubt I could convince anyone that I live in Thailand with one 90 day entry.

    Depends who's looking at the visa.  Plod won't have a clue what a non-O entitles you too and it is not stated on the visa that you get a 90 day entry.  Anyone actually familiar with the Thai visa system would likely know that you are able to get an in-country extension and stay there forever.

  4. Do you really have nothing to show you live in Thailand?  Bank account, driving license, yellow book, etc?  As for your expiring non-O there is nothing to stop you getting a new one before you leave.  Probably you're right that flights will become fewer in the coming weeks, that might be the biggest hurdle.

    Is it still 90 days VOA for uk citizens?

    It never has been.  It's 30 days visa exempt (currently 45 to compensate for quarantine), 60 days with a single entry tourist visa or 90 days with a non-O visa.  The 9 months mentioned probably relates to the Special Tourist Visa which may or may not be available.

  6. London Embassy has the following statement, which suggests an onward/return ticket would be needed;

    Certificate of Entry (COE)

    **Holders of British/Irish passports, as well as 54 other nationalities entitled to 30-day visa exemption, can go to Thailand for tourism purpose for up to 45 days without visa. Proof of air tickets that the applicant will not overstay and health insurance are required for COE application.**

    ok, please let me get this straight , the developers and producers of the vaccines say TWO DOSES, about a month apart , and this thai expert says : 'nah, only one'; uh huh

    That's also what the UK is doing.  The theory being that the additional protection from the second dose is marginal.  I presume that decision was made based upon some credible research, though by whom I do not know.

    Thanks thats about £10k which is no problem as school costs about twice that amount.

    Next question is obviously do they always extend after 1 year?

    I've sole custody of my kid, hence worried about going there and not getting visa extended in 2/3/4/5 years.

    Yes it's about £10k but it only has to make a short annual appearance and it stays your money.  There is no reason at all why the extension wouldn't be renewed provided she continues to live with you and doesn't pass 20.  And certainly no reason to pay for an elite visa.

    "including nine people testing positive in quarantine facilities" - I would be very much interested in the nationalities of these nine people and if all those required a RT PCR test prior departure.

    "Two Thais had flown back from the United States, one from the United Arab Emirates as well as a Taiwanese man from China, a Japanese businessman, two British people, an Indian man, and an Indonesian man from their respective countries."
