If something is scuttling about in the roof space it's most
likely tree rats ,they like to go there in the rainy season,
and maybe a monitor is trying to get up there for a meal.
We had pigeons nesting on on the little roof over the door next to where the footprints are, gone now and access blocked off with some netting. What we heard last night subjectively sounded heavier than a squirrel...... Also I've never seen squirrels in the mango tree or around here, we had Tokae geckos before but haven't heard them for a few years.

Not so much a pet question, more an animal question. What would leave these footprints on the wall? About 30~40mm long under a window (with an easily climbable cage on).
We're in SamutPrakan and stepson reckons it's a Water Monitor, if so it's probably what we hear sometimes scuttling about in the roof space, sounds like we may need to find a snake/reptile remover!
Seems believable as when I was here in January I saw a 3 metre long Water Monitor lazily swimming up the khlong alongside the Sukhumvit Road near Robinson.

Hi,
Earlier this year before our return to the UK Thai Airways had a timetable change which unceremoniously dumped us on a 16 hour BKK>HKT>LHR flight rather than the direct flight we'd booked. I was completely unsuccessful in contacting Thai Airways in Bangkok and eventually messaged 'ThaiAirwaysUK' on Facebook Messenger, they were really helpful and they sent me this link which is really for UK departures but I very politely explained that we would prefer to fly direct a couple of days later and they fixed it for us fairly quickly. If all else fails this is their eMail address [email protected].

I got one for bank account took me 2/3 day at immigation. No, they were not busy. Just lots of passing me arround after each dept gave stamp of approval. That day, I paid a girl 300 to fill paperwork for me. another 80 for pics and copies. Then whatever to immigration itself. So, like 580? You could fill the forms yourself , but that just leads to errors and anger usually from officers lol.
But... Beyond frustrating having to wait 2 hours a time between departments and spending all day there
Today hired agent to get me another cert for car and bike license. gave passport and tm30. They picked it up from my door and delivered it back for 900 baht total.
Complete bargain of a service.
**however, not paying an agent 5000-6000 baht to do my driver licenses, as I feel they are taking advantage of ignorance since I'd still have to go twice and wait all the same amount of time at the DLT. there is no time savings except they build in getting the residency cert into it and medical cert (which if go to clinic is only 100 baht and 5 minutes though).
Like anything. do a little homework and decide what is right for you and your situation.
@Dart12 I need to get one each for Bank and Driving licence, How did you find an agent? Did immigration recommend one or? Whereabouts are you?

It used to be ridiculous - most taxi’s didn’t have the seatbelt stalk (which was pushed under the seat).. then the law that seat belts must be available in taxis came in a few years back and it was enforced... but that has slipped lately and I’m finding more taxi’s (and grab cars) that I’ve refused to take because they have no rear-seat belt..... (this matters to me, especially when going on an express way).
That does annoy me about taxis too! Also I was amazed that stepsons recent Nissan Navara pickup (bought in the government tax back initiative) doesn't have any rear seatbelts. I won't let my wife ride in the back due to the risk as she takes blood thinning medication.

Yup, as above that's what I did, I think the difference this year is the prompt at the top of the login page to use IE8~11 or Chrome, so I used Chrome and it went OK.

@ubonjoe Can you get a certificate of residency for a driving licence / Bank account if you have TR60 Visa (SamutPrakan Immigration area)?
TM30 is done and confirmed online and staying at wifes private property.

Is that absolutely the case? I have just uploaded one from Chase Bank which is has their logo all over it but you're saying that's not acceptable?
I uploaded .jpg screenshots of .pdf statement downloads (Royal Bank of Scotland & Nationwide) for our applications and they were granted without any problems. Mine came through in 3 days, wifes took a week, possibly due to being born in Thailand and having changed her name (didn't use her Thai passport due to having no vaccination record against her Thai name).
The online application pages are somewhat confusing as to whether .pdf or .jpg is needed, I just tried one and if it wouldn't upload tried the other format.

Here's a somewhat late update: Just arrived again and thought I'd have another stab at registering us online, now the https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/ page has a line of text at the top saying: '..........Check your browser, please use with Internet Explorer version 8-11 and Chrome only' so opened it in Chrome and left the TM6 number box empty and it all went through fine.

Slightly related to OP's question, but I 'think' I've just completed a TM30 for two of us (Thai wife on UK PP due to UK vaccination record) on the web version of online registration! I tried '0' for the non-existent TM6 number and it failed but leaving it blank worked and the data was successfully transferred to the form at the bottom of the page.
My question is, is it just a matter of hitting 'Save' and that's it? Or are there further steps to actually register?
If I use 'Search TM30' we both show up as having arrived so all looks good.

Surely a simple solution for those fleeing justice abroad would be to suspend the statute of limitations while the fugitive is not on Thai soil?

The BiB might be more gainfully employed prosecuting actual crimes rather that 'thought crimes'?

There have been many reports about a problem when saving a report online. Hotels do them by submitting a file.
The mobile app is working without a problem according to reports about it. Perhaps try installing it if you need to a TM30 report.
Android app:. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=th.go.immigration.section38
Apple: https://apps.apple.com/th/app/section38/id1451853492
Unless entering the country frequently with a new visa there is not much need to bother with online reporting since they changed the regulation for TM30 reports in June of last year.
I also tried downloading and completing the V3 .xls spreadsheet (red box in screenshot below) which has examples in and also the airport & immigration codes. This wouldn't upload either.
I was trying to do it online as SamutPrakan immigration has temporarily moved from near the Amphur offices in SamutPrakan to miles away in BangPhli.
I'll download the Android app and give it a try ready for later in the year.

Also I would love to hear from anyone who has successfully reported arrival on the immigration 'fn24online/Record of notifying foreigners to stay (Notification TM30) webpage. What was your secret? I know the date formats are a bit weird and I tried several options but as above all I got was 'an error has occurred'.
We're now registered but if I use the search function it doesn't show anyone as being registered? I guess the in person paper system is not connected to the online system?
-
On a sort of related note, after a few tries I managed to get the wife (house owner) registered on the immigration 'fn24online' site (which appears to be primarily for hotels), but, totally failed to register our arrival on the TM30 page! The date format is a bit strange and I couldn't see anything else wrong it just kept coming up with 'an error has occurred' so we ended up having to go to SamutPrakan immigration in person anyway and file a couple of days late! They didn't care last time either when we had to extend our Visa exempt stamps for medical reasons (not having done a TM30 at all) we just did the TM30 there and then 28 days late!

Hi,
My wife was previously married and divorced in the UK and still has her (UK) married family name on all her UK records including 2 x Covid vaccinations + Covid booster.
We are currently here on TR60 eVisas with her having travelled on her UK passport and vaccination certificate.
Has anyone any idea if it's possible to get her UK vaccination data added to her Thai vaccination record? Seeing as how her Thai ID is in her Thai name.

And now we move on to booking an SHA Test'n'Go hotel, buying insurance & then navigating the wonders of the 'Thailand Pass' system! Nearly forgot, RT PCR tests too!

Looks like you and I are both on the same roller coaster just now.
Only two of us out of the entire AseanNow membership?
I would have expected scores of comments from others who were also on that same ride.
Does that say something about the present demand for "new"/tourist visas to Thailand?
Yippee! Well that was a trek! Tried again this evening 'Maintenance' then up then down finally got on and completed and paid for mine and the little womans applications (she'll travel on her UK passport as her vaccinations were in her UK name and I have no idea if it's possible to connect them to her Thai ID).
I love the way it's supposed to be easier, haha! Front page of the Thai eVisa website (below) lists only 4 documents required, until you get into the application and it even wants a pic of you holding your passport and your photograph!
I wish I had started the Visa application before I booked the flights as if I had realised how much pissing about the Visa application was I would have booked flexible return flights for 30 days, gone in on Visa exempt stamp, moved the flight and extended at immigration (done it once before, just a form, a picture, ฿1900 and no jumping through hoops).

Thanks Joe, I did wonder as when I was trying last night id would have been ~03:00ish on Thailand which seems like a reasonable time to do website maintenance.
Guess I'll just wait.

Allegedly a ~1 Metre Water Monitor has been seen around here...... Don't know if they climb walls like that though? I know Geckos have sticky feet but they seem bigger than any Gecko I've seen and I haven't heard any Tokae geckos since family got rid of them a while ago.
