"A challenging proposal by the leaders of the PAD is the 70:30 model, where 70 percent of political officeholders will be appointed while 30 percent will be elected." Now make up your mind, either I'm making it all up or you are just in denial of the truth!I don't know why you come again and again with that appointed parliament which is in that way you tell it simply not true.thailand seems to have quite a few options:
1. return to absolute monarchy
2. return to military dictators
3. return to vote buying crooks like tax-sin and samak
4. return to an integer but impotent 'good faith' like chuan lekpai
5. wait for some miracle coming out of nowhere
or look forward and seriously start to discuss all possibilities better than the 5 above
i personally prefer number 4. but it failed already, sorry enough. i do not believe in this 70:30 crap, but if it will be an interim solution leading to a better constitution, fighting corruption and preparing the thai people for a real democracy.......................why by all heavens not? lets exchange serious arguments and no rants who's wrong or right, who tells the truth and who the lies. we need ideas! obviously new ideas!!!
Thailand should permit itself to be colonised.
By the British.
Even British Malaya (Malaysia) is better than Thailand now - let alone Singapore and Hong Kong
Myanmar and India a bit dicky of course..
hahaha.....great post! But I suggest not by the British.
Well definaltely not the US. Look at the Phillipines.

Have your ear-plugs at the ready for breakfast, if there is a large group or coach party the management play loud western music in the restaurant to drive them out before they can get settled and trough all the buffet ..... quite hilarious !!!!!
Well at least they aren't burning chillies which is what the cook at the Tai Son Geet used to do at 3am to clear out all the hippies who were sitting there still.

Well due to the lack of toilets they may need the water cannon for cleanliness.

Hey Pete I just had 6 implants screwed in today at "Dental For You" on south Pattaya road opposite Tuk-Com.
I had my teeth out 3 months ago and had many xrays and 3 different "templates" made up until they got the perfect bite algimentet for my jaw.
I was quoted over a million Baht for top and bottom at BPH and 660,000.00 where im having them done now. Big saving if your prepared to take the risk of not having the facilities at hand of a hospital if need be like onzestan mentioned.
What kind of anaesthetic do they use....is it just local?

In some countries, such as Austrralia, criminal records are voided after a reasonable amount of time has passed. I think that it is 5-10 years, so even if you murdered a bunch of people, went to prison and paid your debt to society, you would not be required to claim a criminal record and there would be no way to find out if you had one.
I dont think they are that easy..as far as I know you can apply to have minor convictions removed after 10 years in most states but it is not automatic. Also if you come from outside to Australia you are supposed to declare all convictions....and they can check....and you may or may not be admitted depending on an assesmeent of the threat you pose Australia.

free until you add all their handling charges levies baggage and booking fees etc.

I have had a retinal detatchment and a scheral bucle repair. It is imperative that you get it fixed immediately or you can lose all sight in that eye permantly. Do NOT FLY. I am not sorry for shouting that is important the pressure changes will not help.

Maybe he should buy the condo freehold in his name. He could maybe then also set up a company get a work visa, after all he needs one to manage investments on line and live in his condo.
Much cheaper than marrying....slightly less upkeep and he doesnt lose 50% at least when things go bottom up.....Not wuite sure that is the right expression though:)

I cannot tell you about Thailand but I am pretty sure you will have a fairly heavy duty to pay bringing the car into the UK. Remember they do not have heaters often in thailand .....and I have heard what your weather is like:) Frrom what I have seen on the net depreciation is low in Thailand so it may be better to sell it here rather than spend a couple of thousand Pounds shipping and the duty and VAT for the UK.

Maybe if you get shot running away from the police you should have to pay $118 for the bullet.

It runs deeper than just the Royal Thai Police. We contacted the United Nations General Assembly to report our Golden Retriever's crimes against humanity. Their response? Complete apathy!
Well isn't that the UN policy on anything.

in our house the most heinous crimes are committed on a daily basis but the police doesn't take any action. this is the criminal:
I like the "innocent look" when the guilt can clearly be seen, that's right whoever chose those cushions should have the dog lick them to death!!
Well you know how much Naam likes silver and gold

You all forgot the remakable ability of all thai girls to turn a non stick frypan into a shiny mirror in less than 10 minutes.

because Vegemite is nicer and healthier

Dont forget the sick bufalows....they are usually followed by a diminishing of your finances.
The most important thing to watch out for in tourist areas and guesthouses are other farangs.
The best thing in Thailand is (or was when I lived there) the local people.

Strongly recommend you bring a copy of your "fully loaded" hard disk, backed up with the appropriate software, in order to restore your PC. You must be self-sufficient here if you are a Mac user.
This is close to my suggestion, which would be to remove and hand carry the hard drive, of course having done a comprehensive backup before travel. As implied, plan to bring a copy of your OS and other software in on CD.
Would it be ok to take the motherboard and hard drives and graphic card out of the case and just bring them. Buying a case and power supply locally should be a lot cheaper than the excess baggage.

In Turkey the owner of the orchard I used to stay in paid the local kids a bounty to shoot them with catapaults. Of course you would have to watch they didnt bring takeaways/

If you are wealthy enough malasia has their second home program and Penang can be fairly pleasant....and at least you can take the train to Thailand. but I think you would have froblems with gf visa.
-
Don't forget as you g/f is lao she has diferent visa requirements to you. Although she is possibly visa free for very short periods in ASEAN countries longer stays are much more difficult than for you.

Shouldn't the topic read "May I".
Sorry I couldn't resist

good idea to sun dry clothes and underclothes if possible or at least to leave them in direct sun for an hour or two.
