  1. The kitchen place near Foodland is top draw, lots of items in there including potato mashers even.

Makro had some panini makers /grills in there a while ago by Cuisismart or something but were about 8000 Baht, more than double the price that I paid for mine in UK.

  2. I visited Makro Pattaya this evening and I can confirm that they didn't read this thread, or it must be that they are that stubborn . smile.png

Respectfully, I think if you had put as much effort into actually contacting Makro and letting them know about your issues as you have debating it on this forum then I'm sure you would be closer to having answers. No offence intended, just sometimes you need to take real action and not be content to moan about it in the hope that their CEO or whoever will read a thread they don't know exists. If, after you have wrote to them and they have not answered or gave an unsatisfactory reply then by all means go ahead and moan all you want, I'll even join in!

  3. Dear Knowledgeable Gentlemen of Thai Visa Motor Forum,;

I was going to buy the missus a new car but unfortunately it turns out that I've got more debt than Greece.

Therefore, I am opting perhaps to spruce up her existing car by having it wrapped in a suitable girly colour or pattern for her. Has anyone had any experience with the vinyl car wrapping here in Thailand? Admittedly I dont know much about these car wraps, are they easily removable or will cause damage to paintwork afterwards? Expensive?

Your thoughts and wisdom will be welcomed, nay, cherished :)

    Seen one pattern I liked;

  4. I was quoted 1,080,000 baht for 3.2L Wildtrack, although the rep said it was unofficial but he used that figure when we sat down and went through some financing deals.

The first thing I noticed when arriving at the Ford stand (apart from a couple of fit young ladies) was the physical size of the ranger, they're BIG. The finance rates on the show's price list were a heck of alot better than I'd been given the previous day from my local dealer here in Patters ranging from 2.35% upto 3.1% whereas local dealer given 3.75 upto 4.1%. Not bad are they? I know that Mitsu are offering 1.99% and some gobshites here will claim to get much better but generally it's alright.

I managed to get some extras thrown in but not many admittedly. Some of them were 3M window film, mats, plate holder, servicing, coating and por lor bor. Other extras that I would normally ask for are more or less included as standard on Wildtrack it seemed.

Delivery of 2.2L in January (no specific date)

Delivery of 3.2L in March or April

If you're going with the intention of buying make sure to ask for a test drive and do a lap of the carpark. I was suprised about how good the turning was considering size. Still, I won't be letting the missus park in Big C anytime soon, it's a beast. :)

  5. My local Ford dealer confirmed that the prices "under 1m" were both for 2.2L, as per post above and admitted that there is alot of confusion over this issue.

I'm heading to the show later today, so looking forward to seeing them in the flesh (the cars too). ;)

Meanwhile, permission to ask a silly question please!; if I buy a 2.2L Wildtrack, do you think it's possible to buy the parking sensor/rear camera as an extra? Or other items for that come with the 3.2L for that matter...

    Cheers :)

  6. I was about to write a thread asking loads of questions regarding Pajero Sport but you guys have answered most of 'em here. Just a note therefore to say thanks very much - some excellent information!!

I wish other sub forums on Thai Visa were this good and devoid of numpties.

    Cheers :)

  7. 23rd April is Easter Sunday. Who is George and what was his involvement in Thailand? :whistling:

It is common knowledge that St. George came here on R&R from the crusades. After meeting a nubile lass from Peppermint, he decided to stay a while and opened a bar close to Soi Buakhow.

Sadly he was cheated out of his share, the mamasan left and took all the best looking girls with her. He has now swapped his knights clothing and chainmail for a Beer Chang vest and a pair of flip-flops.

He often sits alone in the Jack Tar Bar on Soi 6, contemplating what might have been.....

  8. I have had several things replaced on my iPhone(s) by a shops in Tukcom, one of them called something like "MW Service Repair" (yellow sign with red text). Also another shop called "Ice Mobile". Both located next to eachother on the 2nd floor level. Turn right at top of escalators and they should be both in front of you. I'm sure there are others there too.

They should be able to do it in about 30-40 mins for you depending on workload. Expect it to cost around 400-500 baht.

    Hope this helps.

  9. I've looked around Pattaya and am struggling to find a shoe shop that sells large size shoes, my shoe size is a UK 12, or 46. Whilst I manage to find flip-flops ok, just can't seem to find shoes or trainers. They seem to stop at UK size 11 (which I can understand - not many thai's with big feet!).

If anyone can offer some real advice on where to look it would be greatly appreciated! :-)

  10. Seems like this place has recovered well after an initial teething period where people gave negaitive feedback about meals, now getting some good reviews. Very nice environment. My only gripes would be ; For the breakfast, they use the smelly 'het hom' mushrooms, which have no place whatsoever being on a breakfast plate. Also, sometimes they claim they have run out of back bacon, whish is why they give you a couple of sad looking pieces of waffa-thin streaky bacon. apart from these mega-important, life-changing points, its OK!

My firm favourite for food however is right across the road, at the Caddyshack, which really takes some beating.

Always good to have more choice though!

  11. Slightly different and a general comment (I hope you dont mind) - As far as the news goes, it all seems to be about churning news stories out of (mostly) the police station at Soi 9. I know that they're runnning a business but there seems to be no objectivity, no getting a comment from 'the accused' or anything - just some git slyly lurking taking photos - a bit one-sided. This is not aimed purely at PattayaOne however, with most of them equally guilty of this.

  12. I visited a friend in Pattaya Heights Condo (off Pratumnak Rd) the other day and couldn't help but notice a new condo that they're building next door to it. He's only just got back himself from an extended stay in Australia and was a bit peed off when he got here to see it.

    post-65276-1269339905_thumb.jpg

Daft question #1: are there any regulations that state how close they can build next to another building here?

Daft question #2: is it worth him making a complaint? or should he just get on with drinking his Beer Chang and try to forget about it?

    Thanks

  13. It's amazing how it takes less than 10 minutes to turn a road into a river! Was driving down Soi Khao Talo last Sunday and it was a torrent of water. Had drove up it 10 minutes earlier and was dry as a bone.

  14. I'm building a 3DOF motion platform with electric servos at the moment.

Oh yeah? Well, last night I barfined 2 showgirls from Living Dolls and am now eating a kebab. Let me know if you need a hand with the 3DOF motion platform.
