What!!!
Are you serious.....
tell me more... have you had to demolish and rebuild yet?
what sort of lease are you getting... i mean time wise..
it surely cant be profitable to demolish and rebuild.....
-
I would suggest getting a " door to door" price and don't pay until your stuff arrives.
BKK customs will probably want to charge some kind of import fee and may hold your stuff until they get it.
If you have a work permit you are allowed (in theory) one shipment of personal belongings...however they will still probably want to charge you some import tax.
If you get a "door to door" fee from the shipping company then either they will tell customs where to go, or they may have someone on the inside that can sort it out.... or they will sort out the situation one way or another.
Good luck... its a lottery

I'm not 100% sure so might not be too helpful, but i don't think they can...
I think the contract stands ...
However if you agreed 2 more 30 year extensions I don't think they have to honor the extensions...

it appears on the link ( www.samuiforsale.com/real-estate/land-upgrade-sor-kor.html ) sk1 submitted before the deadline may be upgraded to nor sor 3...
I was wrong in thinking that it could be upgraded to chanote. It looks like they will upgrade to nor sor 3.

link to the 8th feb upgrade

I dunno how many have been granted
Thats why i am asking
-
Yes i shouldnt call names but his reply is completly useless... apart from calling me a kipper
The sor kor 1 WAS submitted b4 the deadline... i didn't realize it was so long ago... blimey
-
Hi all
we submitted land to upgrade from sor kor 1 to chanote at the time when they were upgrading this title without having to go through the courts....around 18 months agao, maybe more.
We still havent had the upgrade , however the land office have been out to survey the land and put chanote markers in...
The pu yai baan isn't being particularly helpful...( always busy on other things).
What would you recommend our next move is... obviously i don't want to walk into the land office and ask about whats going on...
Does anyone have a contact for land office in BKK as i may contact them to find out what is going on.
The land is in Krabi and the local land dept are pretty keen on a bit of token play money....so i hear
Im thinking a call from BKK might help things a little.
Thanks

I think Carnivore is the best for steak, Sala Bua has new owners and has slipped down in my book.
I would suggest going to Klong Muang..... Sofitel, Sheraton, Ritz Carlton etc
There really isn't much choice apart from these
-
I would presume its the Krabi doctors that don't want a private hospital.
judging by the way the local people seem to behave there.....
-
So the word on the street is that the new international hospital is now going to be turned into a shopping mall.
I saw a sign advertising a new shopping mall at the hospital site... Is this true?
If so .... What about the hospital?

No point being Grumpy, I think you just have to put up with it... It's not like it's just in Ao nang. It's all over Thailand.
Lucky they haven't caught on to Long Tails driving up and down the beach with loud music and advertising, like in Cha
weng....yet
-
What a great way to spend money, monkey bus stops..... what about the stinking rubbish and pollution all along the beach....... get yer priorities right..

Pakasai is the closest 18 hole course, although i have to disagree with your comment about it being expensive. If you become a member its 640B including caddie.... I don't think there are many courses that can offer that.
Sofitel have a small 9 hole course, and another course is under construction close to the airport, but will only be 9 holes to start with.
There is a superb course out towards surat thani... about 1 1/2 hour drive. Bit of a trek but well worth it.
Obviously Fast Eddie doesn't know what he's talking about...

Contact Phanom Bencha Mountain Resort. The owner is called Son, he is a guide and he does trips up to the top.
It's quite a hike by all accounts and you definately need a guide. I think you camp at the top too to see the sunrise in the morning too.
The resort is beautifull too

The Thai guy that looks after the golf at Sofitel does teach, and speaks good English.
There is no Driving Range at the Sofitel, but it is a great little course....
The Driving Range is just past Makro heading towards Phuket and opens at 3pm. Its also closed on Sunday....

Duh!!!!
I'm asking the question, as i am not sure if the info i have been told is correct.
I am not an accountant Rodent Warrior...are you? do you know if this information is correct?
If anyone does have any info i would appreciate it......my accountant (i assume) knows more than i do about the thai business law.
-
I do believe that they have got rid of the 2 share types now.
If this isn't true i would like to know, as i was told by my accountant that ordinary and preference shares don't apply any more.
Maybe this only applies to newly registered companies or new foreign companies.
If any one knows i would love to know too.

Agree with Sam. Set up the Thai co. If the Ministry ever decide to investigate then go to leasehold or sell!
Condo is your safest bet 100% freehold but can be expensive!
Don't put anything in your GF name not even the car! Challenger is spot on. Most of these girls are ruthless. Too many foreigners have llost their life savings to thai girls.
There is no rush to buy land out here. Plenty of choice.
Rent first take your time and live with your lady. Don't be pressurised into making rash decisions which could affect the rest of your life!!
Good luck!!
Too many foreigners have llost their life savings to thai girls. True, but a lot have been taken for a ride by foreigners
There is no rush to buy land out here. Plenty of choice. ......But you don't want to be last to the party.....The best booze may well be finished already.
Rent first take your time and live with your lady. Don't be pressurised into making rash decisions which could affect the rest of your life!! V V good advice

I can't see a Central opening in Krabi for a long time which is a massive shame.....would you rent a unit at Central in Krabi?
As Big C now own Carrefour there won't be one of them either.
There is a new retail centre being built in Krabi on the river road........or so i hear anyway....beware the grape vine

Your gonna have to go to Phuket, and be prepared to get stung.
Phuket Alpha are the apple shop in Phuket Town.
My advice is to do a search online and try following all the advice first, like booting from cd drives and safe startup etc. You may well sort it out before having to pay Apple loads of cash.
