Well obviously this excludes you and i, but I am not talking about if you would cheat or not, but rater why they do it and risk everything....and no you cannot get AIDS from a massage, but a lot of these Massage parlors are a front for sex houses, so if you chose to be with these girls, what drives you to risk you life? That was my question..

Now someone is actually trying to say Australians somehow speak the best English, or have the same accent everywhere,or some such thing. I suppose this may be true as no matter what part of Australia they come from, no one else can understand a word they are saying.Mate. I see the guy with this theory has a name resembling kangaroo, so that probably explains their opinion. No matter, just put some shrimp on a barbie and digeree doo some vegemee with a wallaby or whatever. Yes one should definitely go to Australia to learn perfect English. I actually think this whole grammar thing is pretty funny. Also,the valium thing was actually a joke but I think too many people took it seriously, perhaps because there may have been a punctuation error or some such thing.I t is not surprising,as I recall from my school days that English teachers I have known were not renowned for their sense of humor and are often what some people might call nerds. Also, as far as this topic having nothing to do with Thailand, this is not the first posting I have read here that has nothing to do with Thailand. But ti does have something to do with this forum.

Anyway i am soree ifn i havt ofented anybody.

I have spent most of my life in Australia, and I think it is fair comment that Australians speak the English language very clearly. Every syllable is clearly spoken, whether the person is a tradesman or professional. I can't say if the sentence construction is better than other English speaking countries, but the spoken word is clearly understood by everybody, throughout the country.

I only ask this because so many posters are so negative about Thailand, I wonder what the fawk they are doing here, or even if they are here at all.

Surely if one was so unhappy in Thailand and had a Ticket out, then one would not stay in Thailand, did not many Farangs leave their own countries for Thailand cos they thought it was better ?

I cannot understand the constant complaining and whinghing about Thailand from people who have a choice where they live, and they choose to live in Thailand !

Yet they want it to be like the country they left.

I think Thailand is great place. I have been living here about a year now, after numerous short stays.

The only complaint I have is the instability of any government. Thailand could be a far more prosperous country if the population did'nt try to remove a government because they don't some policies. I don't think any other country in the world would tolerate all the inconviences that minority groups impose on the people, ie shutting off roads for months at a time.

Anybody who was thinking of if investing in Thailand will now have other thoughts. These people, who like to think they are patriots, and try to cause as much chaos as they can, only have personal agenders, and don't give a hoot about Thailand.

With the low voter turn out, I guess it's not too popular so far.

Why cant Thailand have an immigration policy like Australia. We invite people to emigrate to our country, and become citizens with a full passport after three years. Priority is given to skilled personel, or people who have sufficient money to start a business.

We have many asian people who have come to Australia, and are made welcome by most people. Now the government has decided new immigrants need a basic English test, which only consists of a few words. Enough basically to ask someone where you can find the " dole office".

We regard everyone who comes to Australia, as Australian. We dont continually tell them on a daily basis that they are different, they are Asian.

Andy, please never take a Taxi in Tokyo, you'll have a heart attack for sure.

If you find Taxi's putting up their fares daunting after the massive increase in the price of fuel, then I doubt very much you have ever owned a car and had to pay for fuel yourself.

Try taking a taxi in Australia, ten times more for the fare, and they drive so slow to increase the charge. In Bangkok very reasonable
