Stand up & fight like a man means 'use your fists!' Don't kick like a coward and then back away.
sure stand up and likely you are a foot taller with six inches or so of reach and a lot bigger...and then you get surprised when the little thai guy jumps up and kicks you in the head....

I don't know but if the supply is as huge as i suspect and if it starts to mold then i would guess it will be sold at whatever price is necessary as most would rather have something than nothing.
I am not convinced that in the end the current efforts to decimate an industry will end up being more than a lot of hot air. Seems to be a lot of that floating around among various "lawmakers" these days.

just try and imagine how many growers have pounds and pounds of pot already grown and ready for sale...then imagine the govt actually does restrict sales, close most shops, and cause drastic drop in demand. There are many Thais who over the past couple of years have invested in and learned how to grow good weed. Will they all say oh never mind I will destroy all my equiptement and turn in all my existing supply to the cops? I don' t think so.
Pot does not have an infinite shelf life so what will the growers do with all the excess product? Hmmmm...my bet is it will go out into the black market and prices will plummet and put most of the "legit" shops out of biz. Who will go to a legit shop and pay prices way higher than they can buy on the street?
Like weed it does get a little sticky and bit more complicated to put genie back into the bottle.

one more thing to put into the IF, WHEN, PROPOSED, SUGGESTED, box along with all the rest that either never happened or were never enforced or in other words...."nevermind".
My guess is that since weed was legalized that there are a ton of Thais who have learned how to grow really good pot . I doubt they will hang up their garden gloves now.
Even now with weed stores everywhere there are still lots of "pop up" night sellers all over the place selling their home grown off of a little table on the sidewalk. One I know is within spitting distance of a big police station and they don't seem to be too worried. I suppose if necessary they could add "doctors prescriptions" to their product line.

The 'insurrection' was a set up, the democrat soros paid antifa mob were wearing red hats pretending to be Trump supporters, they were the violent ones, the maga guys were the ones walking single file through the capital after police opened the doors and let them in.
What a coincidence Pelosis daughter was making a documentary on that very same day🤔
Here's a breakdown of the authority for deploying the National Guard during the January 6th events:- The President (or his designate) ultimately has the authority to deploy the D.C. National Guard. In this case, the authority was delegated to the Secretary of the Army.
- The Capitol Police Board has the authority to request National Guard assistance. This board is comprised of the House Sergeant at Arms, the Senate Sergeant at Arms, and the Architect of the Capitol.
- The Capitol Police Board initially decided against calling the Guard before the insurrection but did request assistance once the riot began.
- D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser also requested aid from the National Guard.
In summary: While Pelosi, as House Speaker, and then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell were part of the process through their appointments to the Capitol Police Board, they did not have the direct authority to deploy the National Guard. The final decision rested with the President or his designated representative within the Department of Defense. How nice of Trump to give pardons to all those antifa "plants"....-

So disingenuous.
Both incidents are a black mark in American history.
Usa usa usa
Yes both are a black mark....but which is worse? I pick a violent insurection whose mission was to overthrow the government along with threatening to kill the vice president and speaker of the house.

Maybe do a five second google search...but i highly doubt that facts will convince the cult.

Jan 6 hundreds of thugs storming the capital, beat cops, sprayed them with bear spray, threaten to hang pence, stop the counting of votes and force senators to run and hide in fear....Trump did not call out national guard. Sat on his fat rear and watched it on TV. Nothing to see there. Move on. Oh wait there's more. After many trials and guilty convictions as well as guilty pleads Trump gives them all a blanket pardon.
California protest? Send in the troops, the guard and declare an insurection. Arrest the governor and lock him up.
Says it all.

No...wrong! Maximum CC interest rate in Thailand is 16%
but if it is us or euro etc credit card i would guess rates are controlled by issuing country? frankly i don't know many people who have thai credit cards and even if u did would you have a high credit limit? i do not know.

Good alternative is to have a credit card with a decent limit . This will bail you out in in emergency then you can pay it back over an extended period.
At 20++% interest rate? Good luck with that.

it happened in nong khai not pattaya...not that makes it ok but pattaya has plenty of it's own stories without taking over things that happened hundreds of km away

Back in usa at the moment in one of the most expensive cities. Always interesting to read the posts complaining about how expensive pattaya now is....LOL....you want to see expensive go to a bar a restaurant or a grocery store in a big american beach resort town and it will quickly open your eyes as to how inexpensive pattaya is in terms of hotels, transport, beers/bars. food, and entertainment.
I can go into supermarket here and walk around looking at prices and actually sort of bust out laughing at many of the prices. Same with bars and restaurants. Are there some expensive prices in Pattaya...yes for sure if you insist on buying imported stuff or eat western foods? Sure there are. But the cost of living in a nice condo, eating at all kinds of good restaurants with local foods and being able to have a nice cold beer for a couple of dollars then hop on a 10 baht transport ? No comparison at all. Pattaya is still an inexpensive place IF you are not a two week millionaire type....and like most anywhere if you want to get the attention and affection of some hot young babe it is going to cost you a lot generally but even that is cheaper than a hot babe in USA.
Pattaya expensive? It's all relative but in my world it is a great bargain.

I try to follow this one:
Don't use words that you don't really know the meaning of, like epithet.
Yes two better choices would be:
- Adage: This is a proverb or a concise statement that embodies a general truth or piece of advice.
- Aphorism: A tersely phrased statement of a truth or opinion; an adage.

so thailand shares a border with burma cambodia laos and malaysia and seems to sit right in the middle of all kinds of dictators/discord.
Burma is total mess with dictator. Malaysia and Thailand have all sorts of spiffs on southern border. Now here we go with Cambodia spiff and Trump for some reason puts Laos on no travel list.

will be interesting to see if the lawyer who is so rich he forgot about a big pile of $ and didn't keep it in a bank but in his condo has a good explanation...if he does then next is how much "tip" does he give the lady who found it...better be a really nice bundle to her.

They will!! As they listened eg in Vietnam. Or do you think Thais are stupid if it comes to pay a fine of 2000 Baht ??😳
Viet Nam sure figured it out as it is rare to see anyone without a helmet there. How many lives have been saved there over the past decades? A LOT. How much money has been saved by hospitals from not having to treat nearly as many serious head injuires or care for injured people for decades.
Every year or two out come the same old stories of deaths in Thailand and very little enforcement of helmet laws. Then lot of media articles about how it has to change. Then many people saying it is a personal choice conveniently forgetting all the personal and monetary loss to take care of people who refuse to at least semi protect their heads. How many thai families end up taking care of maimed sons/daughters for decades?
It really really needs to change. I remember at a public high school up north ten years ago that the govt sent lots of big signs saying wear a helmet which were hung all around the school and along the roads leading into the school. Then of course along come most of the teachers and many of the cops riding along with no helmets. Followed by motorbike after motorbike with 4 students riding with not a helmet in sight.

Welcome news.
Last thing Thailand is cheap pensioners.
Even "cheap" pension long term residents spend money in markets/bars/shops/transport that a lot of "cheap/poor" thai people are very happy to have the money.
I would rather have more cheap old retired guys than a glut of young idiots who are two week millionaires and seem to cause a lot more problems with violence and many have no clue of thai people or thai culture.

I would say with current on again off again tariffs and restructuring of who are reliable trading partners and can be trusted that it is impossible to predict.
Every day now as I watch stock markets i remember allan Greenspan decades ago as fed chairman calling the super high stock markets as being fueled by "irrational exuberance".. ...seems to me lot of that going on right now.

Well done. I stopped smoking in 1975 after returning from a holiday on Malta where I picked up a lung infection. My doctor told me if I wanted to get well stop smoking. I did and now 50 years later at 81 years not one cigarette!
Good for you. Dumbest thing I ever did was getting addicted to nicotine for decades. Smartest thing I ever did was finally finally get off of those damn cigs for good 25 years ago
i grew up in small southern town...RJ reynolds tobacco few miles away... In mid 60's they had men who stood in front of drugstore where lots of 14-18 y.o kids had lunch from school most every day...they had big bowls of 5 cig winstons and salems free "sample" packs to hand out to all the kids....of course idea was to get us hooked and boy did they succeed with many of us....what a horrible thing to do...amazed that parents didn't shut it all down but of course parents were mostly also all addicted.
So got me hooked at 16 and i fought it for next 34 years til finally finally realized i could barely breathe and if i did not quit it was not going to end well. Hate to even rememeber all the hacking coughing etc not to mention having nicotine fits if i had to go more than an hour or so with no cigs. Now it seems the plan is to hook the new generations with candy flavored nictotine vapes...disgusting in every way.

Or maybe it was all those antifa shills that stormed the capitol on jan 6 as surely no maga thugs would do something so disgusting? Awfully nice of Trump to then pardon all those antifa folks after they were tried and convicted in court....oh yeah forgot...it wasn't antifa at all....it was maga thugs so beating up cops is ok and in fact very patriotic.
