  3. 555 Yes I know it sounds like a touch of the oldtimers, But twice in 15 years I think is not too bad. Perhaps I should have elaborated more. My bad
  4. Love to hear these stories. There is good and bad in all cultures in all countries. I lost my phone in a train in BKK. The lady who found it answered the phone, caught a taxi quite a distance, returned the phone and flatly refused to take a reward or compensation for the taxi trips. Lost my wallet in a clothes store only a few minutes later hearing someone running behind me yelling "Sir" "Sir" My wallet and substantial cash was handed to me Again the young store person refused any reward.
  5. There are just so many variables in vehicle accidents unless you were on the spot at the time there is no way to tell. But as worgeordie explains the situation sounds pretty spot on. 3 people on what looks to be a very badly maintained old bike. Heavy rain, Ever ridden a bike in the rain without a full face helmet you cannot see a thing and the pain is a distraction cutting vision down to a few feet at best. All of a sudden this wall of metal creeps into view directly in front of you. Panic .. Brake... Slam... Mass x Velocity. RIP old son I'm glad the kids were ok could have been so much worse.
  6. No matter how I try to validate this story in my mind it does not make sense. Another tragic minivan outcome. RIP Sathu.
  7. That poor kid. What a way to go. A 22 wheel truck? Did he even know? If he did he is lower than a snakes belly. But. Jostling, trying to manoeuvre that behemoth through a bottleneck of traffic, concentrating out the windscreen. He would hardly feel anything. if at all. My sympathies are with his family and for a life taken way too soon. RIP son, I am so so sorry. ????
  8. Oh Well TAT did say they wanted only rich tourists ???? Make life miserable for the dirty westerners and European falangs that have been supporting the economy to the tune of billions of baht per year. I appreciate covid has changed things a lot But Thailand was always a fun place, Not too dangerous,. Prices relatively cheap and not too many scum like this lurking around soy 11. TAT's attitude to us has imho turned many regulars away for life. Retirees begin to look elsewhere and the place starts to go downhill with the scum filling the void. Oh how I wish it was 15 - 20 years ago. The only silver lining is another Scumbag bites the dust ????
  9. Sounds suspiciously like a timing chain rattle. Once the timing chain is stretched they will hit the tensioner /adjuster / retainer and rattle for a few seconds until the oil pressure builds up. "That is the dead give away." (As I have not heard the noise.) Worn belts have a squealing type sound upon start up. Pulley bearings have a metallic growl type sound. But bearings are usually a continual growl. To ascertain if it is a pulley bearing or belt sound. Get a silicone based lubricant can. Carefully isolating each pulley / belt spray individually into each pulley bearing ( from the back of the pully mainly ) Then spray some on the front of the pully bearing. Start vehicle individually. give plenty of time between start-up for oil pressure to drop. Time Consuming! but if you are careful with the overspray onto the belts you can isolate a pulley bearing noise this way. then do the same for each belt. But it is a few second rattle sound on start-up for a few seconds I would suspect worn timing chain rattling against the retainers / adjusters until the oil pressure builds through the engine from the sump. ( Try to get a spray can with a fine hose attached. WD40, SILICONE Any spray lubricant will do. Silicone bases is best tho. Good luck i
  10. There was a man walking along a beach that was covered by thousands and thousands of starfish that had grounded themselves with the unusually high tide that night. Also out for a morning walk a man following noticed every few steps the man in front of him would bend down, pick up a starfish and throw it into the ocean. When he caught up to him he said. That"s pointless, you won't make any difference, there are hundreds of thousands of them. To that statement the man bent over and picked up a starfish and threw it into the ocean.. Turned and stated. Made a difference to that one.!
