  1. when it comes to eye candy consoles beats PC graphics.

I rather spend that 9000baht on a console and play games on a 50" LED screen than to spend 10 times that amount to play a game on a PC platform on the same screen with max settings... you are looking at running top end cards in tri/quad with top end CPU and also a SSD.

At this point some top end graphic cards are even having problems running in some of the latest games at max settings.

  2. Your bios did that because of the sticky power button, it can happen if you switch on/off frequently.

Your bios will be ok, but if both bios fail, as you are still under warranty you can have your motherboard replaced by sending just the motherboard to gigabyte.

Gigabyte do also have a lot of bios failures cause by heat problems. As Thailand is hot, it's advisable to stick another big fan in the box, and if using a laptop use a cooler stand.

I know this because I am a qualified technician for most it companies, not some back street unqualified person. I have 26 years in the IT industry, from building to programming to installing Hugh network infrastructures so I do know what I'm talking about.

This is all that is needed. You don't even have to send the motherboard back if both BIOS fails.

IF both BIOS are corrupted all u need to do is - Unplug the power , Clear the CMOS(the 2pins) with a screwdriver for 30secs. Remove the BIOS battery for 2mins. That should reset the BIOS back to default.

Also also HEAT does not corrupt BIOS.

Corrupted BIOS is only caused by interrupted power where the PC keeps shutting off for no reason where it also may corrupt the Operating System.

  4. windows 8 is just another windows ME , Vista with the extra "Bling"

    win98 , win2k , XP , win7 are all the better OS.

hardware enthusiasts will always use win7 until win8 can prove that it's rock solid in terms of benchmark numbers. And so far none of them have made the move to win8.

It's Windows 7 with a fancy interface and some work behind the scenes. It IS rock solid (The version number is 6.2.9200) and faster than Windows 7, but the tablet interface is an absolute joke on most desktop PCs.

How is it rock solid? No real evidence or numbers to actually prove it is.

    +1 win7 64 bit.

Lately I've been getting suckered into helping people with their win8 machines. It's an extremely frustrating OS. I personally will be staying away from it, and just cannot recommend it to

    anyone.

    Components returns rates (7)

    by Marc Prieur

    Published on November 16, 2012

    3.5" hard drives

    - Western 1.48% (against 1.63%)

    - Samsung 1.65% (against 1.23%)

    - Seagate 1.70% (against 1.89%)

    - Hitachi 3.77% (against 3.95%)

With an improved score, Western has taken over from Samsung at the top. Samsung’s returns rate has also got worse. Seagate is hot on the heels of Samsung and Hitachi, as was the case in our last report, brings up the rear with quite a high rate. It is to be hoped that Toshiba, which has taken over Hitachi’s 3.5" hard drive production, will be able to remedy this problem.

4 hard drives have a higher than 5% rate:

    - 7.65% for the Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 3 TB

    - 6.91% for the Seagate Barracuda XT 2 To

    - 5.78% for the Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 160 GB

    - 5.30% for the Samsung SpinPoint F3 (HD253GJ) 250 GB

Here now are the stats for the 3 TB drives sold over the period:

    - 7.65% for the Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 3 TB

    - 4.86% for the Seagate Barracuda XT 3 TB

    - 3.36% for the Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 3 TB

    - 3.12% for the WD Caviar Green 3 TB

    And the 2 TB drives:

    - 4.60% for the WD Caviar RE4 2 TB

    - 3.91% for the WD Caviar Black 2 TB

    - 3.32% for the WD Caviar Green 2 TB WD20EARS

    - 2.28% for the Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 2 TB

    - 1.94% for the WD AV-GP 2 TB

    - 1.46% for the WD Caviar Green 2 TB WD20EARX

    - 1.03% for the WD RE4-GP 2 TB

  9. if u r using the drives as NAS storage the 4TB WD green drives are enough

Totally disagree. Nothing but trouble with green drives on a NAS. They are the only drive failures I have ever had running synology and qnap NAS servers. U have to adjust the firmware WDIDLE etc.

Synology, QNAP - state yes they work but do not recommend them.

if you want a quality NAS drive go for WD RED drives.

Lots of bad reports and why not to use Green's in a NAS:

Using them and have had no problems as long and its cooled properly

  10. a new FM2 ITX build will be more sufficient.

What kind of games? Surfing? movies?

As an aside, if you are in fact playing older games than perhaps an AMD 5800K would suffice? Has better performance than the previous recommendation in general use and much better in multithreaded apps (yes I know the link is to the two lower specced processors but the deltas should be the same). The big problem is that in the most recent games it will only be about 1/4 as fast as the 650TI at decent settings.

So a 4350THB AMD processor combined with a 2190THB Asrock FM2A75M motherboard, the same 1999THB memory from above means you're at 8539THB. On that budget I'd recommend going with an SSD; nothing else really provides the 'wow' factor in day to day operations as putting your OS on the drive. Of course Intel makes some excellent models and this 240GBone squeaks in on your budget.

Later on if the integrated graphics aren't cutting it, you can always drop a cheap card in the slot to get your gaming on.

Before u suggest anymore ASrock itx boards to any1 else.
