Is it still possible to renew on line and have it sent to relative's address in  UK to be sent on? Registered post from UK is much cheaper than a courier.

Hi Maybole, No doing it online can only be done if you are living in the UK, not allowed to submit the application online if you are living abroad.

If you send the application to someone in the UK to do for you.

You have to send your old passport with the application for them to cut the corner off to invalidate it.

But remember this, that it is illegal in Thailand not to have your passport with at all times for ID purposes, so you are taking a very big risk.

  2. Hi Tongjaw,

If you don't want to go to    UK Visa Application Centre
    The Trendy Office Building,
    28th Floor,
    Sukhumvit Soi13,
    Klongtoey-Nua,
    Wattana,
    Bangkok
    10110,
    Thailand

You can ring Key Visa Co in Pattaya & they will renew your passport & make a new application for your son. for a small fee

(contact info removed contact member by PM for it)

@barnsleyman:  Had you previously been able to use the "scan and go" system where no TM.47 form was needed?  If so, that is a BIG change in 90-day reports at Jomtien.

    Hi wpcoe

Yes I've previously done the scan method at desk 4 since it was first available.

Why I updated my thread after going to the Immigration office on Thursday was to inform other people of the now complete shambles.

As previously stated  I was told cannot do online reporting because they want to see your extension in your passport to see if has expired they are wrong because a friend of mine did the online report on Wednesday ( the web site was up & running Tuesday ) he got the Ref Number Thursday Then he completed the application on  Thursday & printed the reciept part of the form & stapled it in his passportIronically Thursday was when I was told that you cannot do online reporting.

What has been taking 5 mins with scanning process  now takes  1 hr +  & a new TM47 application + a photo which a photo has never been a requirement for 90 day reporting in the 8.5 yrs that I've lived here.which is quite obvious that the 4 officers need to all sing on the same hymn sheet.

As Wayward Wind has stated the desk 4 was open for business on Tuesday & scanning process was done.

I can only speculate the the regular 2 officers ie:-  the Lady & the man next to her was away on holiday or something else,& the 4 officers were totally inexperienced,or were were not told to use the scanning process.

  4. Hi everyone,I went to the Chonburi Immigration office yesterday morning,in a new office at the R.H.Side when you go in to ask for a ticket.

The counter 4 inside was closed down had to ask where to go at another counter because no signage anywhere.

After giving my ticket I then had to wait for 1 hour, & then the officer asked me for my T.M.47 form + a photo, this is the first time in 8.5 yrs that they've asked for a photo.

I asked why the change of the system, she didn't know.Anyway she completed a new application form & said no photo was ok but a man at the next counter was sent out to fill a new form & get a photo, what a shambles, what was taking 5 mins before when scanning the bar code now take 1hr I then said that I did my last 1 online & would do the next 1 online,She said can't do online reporting because we have to check your visa is valid.

But a friend of mine did an online application yesterday & it was accepted & got his Ref Number & the Pending notice, sorry about the long message but I thought it was better to explain in detail the new Fiasco at the Immigration office.

    Best Regards Barnsleyman.

  5. Hi everyone, The online reporting page is back on & up & running today.

Unfortunately  now too late for me to submit an application you are not allowed to apply online if only 8 days or less.

So it looks like a visit to Chonburi ( Jomtien ) Immigration office on Thursday the 15th   due date is the 17th.

  6. Hi KhunBENQ

Not successful means that the application was not completed.

When I did my previous 90 Day report online there was no problem.

I did that one on a Sunday evening, then I checked the status of it on Monday afternoon it said Pending which means the application had been accepted & was being processed.

I checked again on Tuesday afternoon & I had received a Ref Number, which then allowed me to print off a page with all my details + a new TM47 page with new reporting date ( 17th Sept 2016 ) & the bar code on it.

This time I did my online report on the 4th Sept, I checked the next day & no Pending so I waited another day  still no Pending so I tried to do another report on the Wednesday.

Thursday & Friday still No Pending notification.

So it looks like that I will go on Thursday the 15th Sept to the Chonburi  (Jomtien ) Immigration office & do it in person.

That means to me that because I was unsuccessful  from Monday till Fri only recieving the Error messages.

So that was 1 working week.

  7. Hello, I did my last 90 Day report online but, this time I've tried for a week to send a new report.

This time not successful at all. Is the web site down, has anybody recently had the same problem.

BTW.before any key board warriors reply,  I'm not a not a "Newbie" I've lived in Pattaya 8.5 years on a retirement extension on my None Immigrant "O" Visa.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can shed light on this problem.

  8. Hi steeevyboy

The reason that I went back the next day was I did the retirement extension on Monday ( 4th) & the Immigration officer told me to come the next day after 10-00am ( 5th ) to collect my passport. My 90 day report day was the 20th April & you are allowed 15 days before or 7 days after your report day.

So I did my 90 day report 15 days early to save me coming back again.

The next 90 day report I will do online, I could have done the report online on the 5th but i thought whilst I have to go & pick my passport u then I might as well do the report & get it out of the way.

    Best Regards.

  9. Thank you to the old for moving my post to the appropriate forum & thank you to Brit Tim for your comment,it's much appreciated.

I'm from England,& I forgot to include the time scale on last Mondays visit to the Immigration.

I also arrived at the office at 8-35am & left 30 minutes later.

When I collected my passport the next day & did my 90 day report I was in & out in 15 minutes it's a very quick process now that the TM 47 form that they put in your passport is bar coded

  10. Hi everyone,

Bank has just rang me a few minutes ago & he's out of the I.C.U.Unit & back on the private ward.

He's physically & mentally drained,& very tired, but he will post in the near future, knowing him it will probably be tomorrow lol

Best Regards eveyone,& bye for now,wai2.gif

  11. It was my pleasure to inform all of the good hearted & kind & considerate, members who have been very helpful,in following Banks thread, with the up to date information.

I know through speaking to Bank on nearly a day to day basis, that he is overwhelmed with the responses & help that you have all given him,& he is ever so grateful & can't thank you all enough, & that goes from me as well.

I've no doubt at all that Bank will express his thanks & gratitude when he is well & able to.

I will of course keep you all informed if there is any significant development in his progress which I think you should be informed.

Bye for now,& Best Regards to everyone.wai2.gif

  12. Hi everyone,I've been,& still am,a personal friend of Bank for nearly 10 years.

I've just spoken with Bank's wife a few mins ago & I'm pleased to inform all of you that Bank had the operation on the 28th of January.

He is still in the I.C.U. Unit, but is recovering well,& he will post as soon as he is well enough to do so.

  13. Hi smotherb,

'It appears you have missed my point. The mind-set that sidewalks are intended and should remain for foot traffic is, as I called it, Western. The mind-set that sidewalks are intended and should remain prime retail space; is another mind-set'.

Please accept my sincere apologies, because I did miss your point,& I also agree that sidewalk/pavements should be used for pedestrians walking,& not for retail selling,or short cuts for motorbike taxis.

  14. "Does any one know where this kind of blatant misuse of public property can be done?"

Sounds to me like you have already discovered exactly where said misuse can be done.

It seems most Asian, African, South American cities allow such encroachment on the sidewalks. Perhaps it's your Western mid-set which is at fault.

    smotherb

Perhaps it's your mid-set that's at fault, or you made spelling a four lettered word a typo

Ah yes, sorry, I really do apologize for looking so stupid. I will attempt to edit all future posts.

Since you apparently knew what I meant; do you have anything to add?

    smotherb

Nothing to add my friend,I was only being a pedantic keyboard warrior LOL

I know nothing I say will make any difference at all, btw I'm not a newbie I've lived in Pattaya for nearly 8 years,so I know the score,& it's not a case of This is Thailand ( TIT)

I just added to the original op who commented about a recent encroachment of the sidewalk/pavement in 3rd road.

I should have wrote not an encroachment on the sidewalk/pavement but, an encroachment of the sidewalk/pavement,because ALL of the sidewalk/pavement from The Royal Suite Hotel down to Pattayatai in Soi Buakhao has gone, probably taken when all the bars, shops & eating places were first built.which has nothing at all to do with a Western mind-set.

  16. Take photos and show to city hall. Tell them you will.alao talk to the army. The police will not be concerned until directed by city hall

    Hi

If & when the op decides to take photos, could he please do the same in Soi Buakhao from the Royal Suite hotel down to Pattaytai ( both sides ) because ALL of the sidewalk/pavement has been encroached upon & motorbikes & cars parked up either side means you have to walk very close to the middle of the Soi.

With the motorbikes & cars parking either side of the Soi,

It now makes the Soi only wide enough for one-way traffic instead of the two-way at present.

  17. Forget the UK it isnt a 3rd world country it is a 10th world country (if one existed)

I agree with you totally gandalf12,

I wasn't advocating,or having a desire to move back to the UK, I was just stating that I & many other Ex-pats can't go back even if they want to,unless you want to leave your family behind.

Maybe slightly off topic but it's just another thing to add to the Discriminating laws against Senior citizens ie:- state pensions frozen, because we don't reside in an EEC country,
