  1. No problem at all. Well legally anyway. That's a shit ton of protien and supps if your gonna bring 9 months worth. Probably be well over your baggage allowance so be prepared to pay for extra weight and it ain't cheap.

I don't think it will happen, but if you get stopped in customs and they think you are going to resell then you might have to pay duties. But I don't think that will happen.

I travel in and out of Thailand every 2 months with a 10 lb bag of ON Whey and 2 tubs of Superpump, been doin it for years and never had a prob.

  2. Yeap thats what we are trying to get, G19 Gen4 with the #4 Spring. But from the places that i have called, they do not have this newer model in stock. Gen 3 would be ok, but the Gen 4 is .08" shorter from the palm area to the trigger. Better for the wifes smaller hand.

I have been searching, and all they say is a general area like "chinatown" or "Burpha Road" and then a bunch of people talking about how guns are dangerous/scary/tinfoil hats bla bla...

Can I ask. Why are you buying a gun for your wife?

    sent from my Wellcom A90+

For her to be able to protect herself when I am offshore. We are out in the sticks. Local cops arent really reliable, to say the least.

  4. Ok the wife got her Por 3 from the Amphur a few days ago, so the next step is actually buying her gun from the gun shops around bangkok.

What I would like to know, is, if any of you guys have been through this process, and what shops you have used. Your experience as well, good or bad.

Wifes been looking around a the thai forums as well, looking for the little tricks people are going to try to pull, but im looking for a foreigners experience.

Finally, if someone could please be so kind as to explain to me how to get to (I believe its the Bhurpha Road area) the area with all the gun shops. I dont know bangkok that well, and I dont want to take a taxi cause it will take forever (But I will if I have to) or maybe a big landmark and I can use google maps or something. Im in lower Sukhumvit area.

    Thanks for any help,

  5. Have it already, but not a fan. I like to look on the mobile version through safari. Only have 16G and a ton of apps and photos and don't need the thaivisa app.

So whats up? Is it going to be fixed? Or is there something (not time consuming) that I can do?

  6. Everytime I click on a thread, it goes to the last post, on the last page. There is no "go to first page" link... So I have to keep hitting "previous" about a hundred times. Everything was fine until a few weeks ago.

    Whats up with this??

All the other forums on the planet bring you to the first post of the thread and let you read through it from the beginning.

Yes, I have tried the search function, but, the thaivisa search function is probably the WORST of all the websites that I am a member of....

  7. There's a really nice place right in town, full block walls on the sides and back with block wall and steel gate/fence in the front. Enough room for 100 dogs and walking distance to the center of town. Beautiful modern home with large kitchen., 3 bathrooms, air, hot shower and lots of undercover areas, gardens, fountains and parking for a great life style.

So where is it? How much per month? Contact details? Pictures?

  8. Ive been living in Prasat for a while now, and im getting a bit bored and tired of drving 30 k's to go to the gym everyday. I would like to move to surin town and be closer to everything. I would really appreciate ANY suggestions/help with this as there really isnt much online for rentals in Surin.

Im looking for a 3 bed 2 bath house on about a 1/4 rai (fenced/walled) as I have a dog and want him to have more space (live in a townhouse now).

Something in town would be best, but I will consider anything if the house is nice and has space. I will look at houses with barely no land also. Anything.

I have a price range of about 5,000 - 8,000 but I would pay more for something REALLY nice.

Anyway, if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would REALLY appreciate it.

  10. "Compelling Reasons to return to Thailand" are the magic words.

Very true and two significant elements of this determination are (1) the perceived strength of the relationship and (2) the strength of your (not only her) ties to Thailand. If you are here on a visa exempt entry or a tourist visa, the consular officer is more likely to think that you are returning to the US and trying to take your GF with you than if you have a non-immigrant visa and a work permit. Marriage will certainly help with the "strength of relationship" part, but if you have few demonstrable ties to Thailand yourself, even that may not be enough for a B1 (visitor) visa.

I mean I have as many ties to thailand as I can possibly have if I get married and change visas. I guess I could buy a house, but that would still be in the wifes name not mine. I dont work in thailand so no work permit, not old enough to retire... Make money out of the country so dont pay any taxes in thailand. What else can I possibly do?

So my retirement visa is not really looking that good, though I used to have a non imm B when I did work maybe my 9 years of living here will help though only married to my wife for 3. Gee what an ordeal just to take her to see my country which to be honest I have no real desire to do and even less so with all this...thanks to Kamnan, Prothai and others for their advice...3 more weeks till my wife goes for her interview will report her outcome.

So your wife is going for a tourist visa interview in 3 weeks? Good luck man. I am curious to see if she gets it.

  12. my wife got her visa on her own merit without mentioning me, she had a job and reason to return to thailand visa it was good for 10yrs. imo i would have been happy to put up with a bit more hassle at thai immigration if my visa was for 10yrs.

If you dont mind me asking, what is your wifes job? And what were her reasons for returning?

Im just curious what satisfies these people...

  13. "Compelling Reasons to return to Thailand" are the magic words. Evaluate her chances by making a list of her compelling reasons to return, ranking them from most important downward. Then use your own judgement as to the quality of the reasons. The interviewer is mandated by law to start the interview process with the assumption she will overstay and it is up to her to prove to him otherwise.

Money, ownership of land and the like are not compelling reasons to return.

Your long stay in Thailand in the past and into the future can be compelling if your relationship with her is strong and well documented. The question remains, why you haven't married her after so long a time with her.

Yes her visa chances increase if you married her.

Yes her visa chances increase if you have long stay visa in Thailand, have an established domicile in Thailand and she has a job of long standing to return to. Having and caring for her children, if any, also is a compelling reason to return. Purpose of trip, whether you will accompany her etc. are critical questions.

There are many threads on this subject in Thaivisa.

There are soo many conflicting opinions about the US tourist visa.

She graduated uni, but has no job. No kids. We rent a house and finance a car. Just regular stuff. We have been talking about getting married but we have been stalling because we cant decide what US Visa to apply for. Know what I mean?

Well I think we will apply again after we get married and I change my visa. I really thought we had it in the bag and im still REALLY annoyed about the whole thing.

  14. In most cases extension of stay will not work for marriage when person is working outside Thailand as application is normally not accepted until the last 30 days of the 90 day permitted to stay, and you must be in the country to receive final approval and that can be 30 days or more after application. Much better to use multi entry non immigrant O visa in my view.

I didn't see the latest post by the OP and agree with Lopburi. The multiple non-O would be a lot easier.

This is something that I definately needed to know. Ok so multi entry non imm o will be the best bet unless I will be seeing an extended time off near the last 30 days of the visa.

    Thanks man!

  15. Just curious if anybody has got any recent reports about getting a Multi Entry Non Imm "O" from Savannakhet Lao.

And what banking information they want to see. I dont have a Thai Bank account, just my american one. Can I just print out a 90 day statement showing a salary of more than 40,000 per month? Also, Marriage cert, Wife tabien bahn, Letter from wife, anything im missing here? This is the first time I will be applying for this visa as im newly married.

And I apologise if this has been asked before, and I tried the search function, but, im offshore now and for some reason explorer keeps crashing everytime I try to search.

    Thanks in advance

  16. Im just curious how many people have actually got a tourist visa for the states. Seems almost impossible to get one, and it ALSO seems like the embassy personnell dont even know what they want to see. Looks like they just take a look at the person and if they dont look up to thier standards then its "Im sorry I will not grant your visa. Please exit to your left."

Ive been with my girl for a little more than 3 years. We have been all over south east asia. I work offshore and live in thailand for 5 months a year. She has a rental contract for our house in her name, a car/motorbike in her name. We have a legitimate relationship documented with a BILLION photos, email, ticket stubs... She spent like 3 months gathering all the documents and labelling folders and preparing for the interview. Getting documents from my parents while I was offshore. We thought we had it in the bag. Huge legal pouch full of individually labeld folders. Letter from my family... 10,000 USD in her thai bank to cover emergencies.

We arrived at 7:30 and she went in. I didnt see her again until AFTER 2 PM! Finally she came out and said she got denied. I said what happend, and she said he didnt even look at her evidence or paperwork. He just read my letter, and in it I said that I stay in thailand on tourist visas, And he said that I (the boyfriend) do not show strong enough ties to thailand and he can not grant the visa. W.....T.....F?

My girl was shocked, and asked what she should do? He said "I dont know, maybe you should travel more together" huh?? He also said "Maybe it would be better if you were married" then promptly told her to leave.

Those people are unbelieveable and im ashamed that they are representative of my country.

Im sure this has been done before, but I would really like it if I could get other peoples experiance on the subject.

Also, do you guys think it would be easier if we were married and I changed over to a non imm "O" in an attempt to satisfy these people? We have been talking about getting legally married for a while now. I dont plan on going back to live in the states for a while, or I would get married and apply for the CR-1.

  17. So a Non Imm "O" Visa will enable me to Put green books/car books in my name, get a thai drivers liscence, all that stuff? Then all I have to do is report to my nearest immigration office and report every 90 days? I can still cone and go out of thailand as much as I want Right?

And the 1 year extention of stay means that I can stay for a whole year and NOT leave thailand, but if I leave I have to get a reentry permit?

Am I understanding this right? I work offshore 30/30 so I need freedom to travel all the time. I think The non imm "O" will be best.

All banking information can be from the states, in english, and just printed out a day or 2 before I apply? Any other things I might need, like, letter from bank, or letter from embassy?

    Any opinions?

  18. I want to apply for the above visa. Im married to a thai. I read somewhere that I have to show 400,000 Baht in a THAI bank account OR an income of 40,000 baht a month. Thing is, my bank is in the states. Will a 90 day print out of my checking account work for that? Do I need a letter from my bank also? I also read that I need a letter from the embassy? What does it need to say? Im a little confused here and if anyone has a checklist or something, that would be great.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  19. /\ /\ Negative. All the prices I said were for a PS3. All what I paid. 5000 for an old, full size (large model) with small memory (40GB) well used.

    Anyway, good luck scouse.
