  1. I suggest gold, guns, and ammo.

I had all three of those back in USA , now all that is left is my well worn Warren Zevon song "Lawyers, Guns and Money"

But often that is enough to keep me warm at night

Can't your wife/gf to keep you warm???

Guess she don't like the song!

    Try Thai songs.

  2. Out of the millions of wonderful nice Thai women you could hook up with you are intent on following up with a whore to see how serious things can get..... This forum is like the twilight zone. Got any self esteem buddy?

    No women is a whore.

    Even well educated ones.

    But most men are "sluts"

    Even well educated.

    Said from a man.

  3. If you don't want to be marginalised and spend every night on the reserves bench you should try getting more involved with ' them '. Firstly, start learning to speak more thai or lao so that you can join in more with the conversation. Like the Alpha dog you will have to excert you position on them. Don't stay upstairs, sit downstairs amongst them and read a book or the paper or whittle wood, anything but just try to avoid totally surrendering your space to them. Get in your mother in laws good books by whatever means possible so that she takes your part. Buy her small gifts of fruit etc. Make visitors bring their own booze by not keeping any in the house yourself. Talk to your wife and tell her you want everyone out of the house by 11.00 p.m. except on special occasions.

Finally if 11.p.m. comes around and the relos are still cluttering up the house, wear you smallest Y fronts and start pottering around in front of them, collecting glasses and emptying ashtrays. EXERT YOUR PRESENCE or you'll end up in the dog house. Woof !

    This man/lady makes sense.

I think no Thai like you.

    "Them" and us???

Can you not sleep with "Them" in your house.

    "Alpha dog"..............Sit.

    No reserve bench for you,

    RED CARD.

    Are you a scientologist?

    No,but I like phycology.

    The history of algea.

Hit mee with your bamboo stick.

    Give you 5 min.

    NA.

  6. So I guess I am stupid I got married 5 years ago to a thai women and we lived happy in Australia

since then I deceided to move to thailand because of her parents. But now I don't have a life any more.

We build a house ( next to the parent one) But every body just keeps walking in ( no knocking on doors)

My wife watches TV all night long till 1 am ( not with me of course ) but with the family and some times with our workers we have employed. So in the morning she is so tired and when I complain about her watching TV she says oh let me have my joy. Call me old fashioned but I always thought wife and husband schould be in bed together. Am I wrong ?

    Get some Thai friends.

    Great people.

  7. It's difficult to make a relationship work with anyone who has taken money for sex. It's the whole game, failed relationships, greedy relatives, hedonistic lifestyle, easy cash, general laziness and fecklessness, sorry, generalisations I know but usually not so far from the truth.

Also,to form any relationship both people need to be both able, and be in a position to be able to commit, just liking, and good chemistry is not enough.

Wouldn't definitively say no, but advise strong caution.

And yes there are possible health concerns, probably just minor.

    NOT.

Are you member of an NGO group???

    YMCA???

    "Hedonistic lifestyle"?

    Goose pimples all over.

  8. but money isn't paper. currency is paper. money can be in the form of many things that are an equitable asset. if tomorrow we were to revert back to the barter system then your assets and your skills would be your money which you could use to acquire other assets and services.

    whose assets ?

    and for how much ?

how can you ask "how much" in a barter system? example: I'll fix your car if you give me your sofa. Your car was fixed for 1 sofa. now you are out of a sofa and would like one, so you decide to trade your recently fixed car for 1 sofa, 1 tv, and sound system. now you are out of a car so you find some sucker that will lend you his car every week for your 2 hour special massage. all of this has been done without the use of currency. the people in the transaction associate the value. currency is easy, but it is just laziness to hold it for a rainy day because that rainy day might be the super inflation of your held currency.

I suggest gold, guns, and ammo. in thailand there is plenty of gold but the laws here don't let us keep guns. so be creative and save your money and not your currency.

    What about my grandmother???

    No rainy day.....!

    Please, need gun & ammo.

    NO SOFA.

  9. Hi there

I know alot of people will probably be judgemental regarding thism but here goes, I wont go into all the detail but summarise the maini points.

I met a Thai girl online, who happens to provide an escort service. That was the initial intention, but then we got to like one another during the 2 weeks I spent with her. Shes educated and used to have a decent job, but allegedly used the internet after breaking up with her cheating boyfriend, shes 31 by the way. She told me her rate and I said it was quite expensive so I made her an offer , she said she would see when she meets me, was quite fussy about what I looked like etc.

At the end of the holiday she didnt ask for any money and appeared (even found money in the hotel and gave it to me) to be enjoying my company as I am a similar age to her and we got on very well sexually and personality wise, we even had a few arguments like boyfriend and girlfriend do, this had never happend to her before when meeting clients it was a more professional basis. I was ill and she looked after me, she seemed to care filling my plate when it was empty and glass etc. She even paid for some of the meal we had one day. Im going back in December and she wants me to visit her place where she grew up (maybe family). I have also spoken to one of her cousins (female) who saked me about myself and what I did.

She tells me she has no children and is quite open with me. By the way I dont find it difficult to attract women back here in Europe, so we seem a good match together. She even talked about cooking for me and if we were married she would care more for me then her MOM.

I know that she still does her job and Im fine with that, but Im not sure if Im just another client or if this is genuine (afterall she is a sort of escort), its 50/50 in my gut. We communicate now and again on MSN and email and text almost every day.

I know this might be a bit pathetic, but what are the chances this is genuine? I will probably know more in December when I return.

    Kleenex please!

    Eyes turning red.

    How romantic!!!

    Bull.......sH.

  10. Sorry to hear about this problem mate. One thing that doesn't add up is that loan sharks do not require a guarantor for their loans. They'll just beat up the person in question instead and if these guys are the police like you say they are...they will find the original person. Hate to say but your lady's taking you for a ride...

For a loan of that much they usually do take collateral. Be it car registration, house or other documents. AND there is the knowledge that you will be on the receiving end of some physical violence.

Why does the wife have to be taking him for a ride??? Do you really not understand the way so many family and friends will stand guarantor? They do so without real thought to the consequences, as Thais do with most things in life.

Sometimes you find sensible intelligent people on this board, all too rare unfortunately.

To the OP, hope your wife does understand the misery she gets you into by acting as a guarantor for a shark loan.

Also strange the experts on this board don't have a clue on the interest rates (10%/month) these loan sharks are asking.

Small noodle shop in the village: every day a man on a 150cc motorbike has his noodle soup for free and collects 100B for his boss, that is DAILY interest included. I hear all these news stories told by my wife and shake my head.

Normally the going rate is beetween 3-5% per month.

    Paying 10% ?? Come on.

Maybe your wife is pulling your leg, or just adding extra spice to the story.

  11. Personaly, I only see people kicking a man already down.

    Disgusting.

Compassion is the key word for me.

Like Dalai Lama said "I you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy,

    practice compassion"

Even an athiest can understand that.

My best luck to you James

    John.

  12. Voranai, in his latest op-ed, is a total xenophobic rant with no justifiable reasoning. As for his knowledge of modern Thai history that comes straight out of a nationalistic pamphlet as issued by the Ministry of Education. What is the guy saying in his Cold War paragraph? Blaming the West for appointing all of Thailand's dictators? It was the West who exploited Thailand's democracy?

As for his democratic ideals and the haves and have-nots, it is Voranai who is being disdainful of the Thai rural grassroots people and their lack of education. The same people who also voted in the likes of Chuan Leekpai etc…. or is he trying to tell us that vote-buying in Thailand didn't exist prior to Thaksin?

Half the people in the UK are 'uneducated' (didn't go to come fancy university in Bangkok, WoW!) and read what they believe in say the The Sun newspaper. The 'educated' British journalists however, don't (and wouldn't dare) go lambasting the un-educated working class masses for the latest election result - same goes for in The US etc...

Voranai and his "Educated middle class" (urban Thai-Chinese) should get a history lesson and realize that he and they are the ancestors of 'guests' to Thailand, so perhaps he should shut his mouth and not complain, just as he is ordering foreigners to do.

    My opinion is the same.

    Who is Voranai Vanijaka???

Asked this question yesterday in the post "PAD, Democracy and labour unions.

Can somebody give me an answer?

  13. What happen to my off topic post last night,or it was in my dream ?

    May loo!!!!

I looooove when I can eat spicy.

    Overlooking "thesunset"

    My "taste buds" are fine.

    So is my taste.

Since im here and cook myself I like my spicy food add as much chilies as i want, and extra spicy here wont make me sweating much like BKK...blow the fire on the snow....If i dont cook i can eat most kind of western foods.

Don't you love knom jin (hope i spell it right)

You can make it with Tunafish too.

Cheap in europe, and tastes good.

  14. PADs way of wanting to rule resembles to some peoples opion here on TV.

Censorship has always been a problem.

    PADs agenda is the same.

Wanting to control most of the opinions of other people.

Like trying to take different media corp.

Please don't forget that PAD is strongly supported by the Manger Media Group.

Including ASTV based out of........... Hong Kong!!!

    How strange.
