Now General lock him up for corruption, incitement to commit murder - oops General soo sorry - he helped you get where you are now so guess its OK for him to carry on
Suthep: what corruption?
Hahahaha nice one mate, needed a funny to cheer me up. I'm incredibly partial to these subtle jokes. Well done!

Twot! He's from Argentina you know.
-
You Democrats opened this can of worms by getting into bed with the military and the amart. Now you're about to reap the whirlwind.
-
I'm too gobsmacked to comment. Hard-faced is what my Scouse mother would have called him.
-
Only the Thais would look a gift horse in the mouth. Tell them to smeg off; ungrateful smeggers.

Doesn't the country have a PM who described himself as a democratic soldier but sees democracy as a trap ?
Is what he is saying worse that Thaksin saying, "Democracy is not my goal"?
Thaksin wanted to be like his buddy, the thug, Hun Sen, and did everything possible to become 'President for Life' of Thailand.
General Prayut is doing everything possible to bury the influence of Thaksin and to set up conditions in Thailand where democracy, if not thrive, at least can grow. That is my opinion.
That all very well, but despite what Thaksin did or said, he was democratically elected by the people, and if the people disagreed with what he did/said they could democratically unelect him. Can't you people see that that is the difference between a democracy and what Thailand has now? In a democracy the voters realise that who they vote in could turn out bad, but having the ability to vote them out next time around leaves the power in the peoples' hands, which is as it should be. Every citizen deserves to have his (or her) say.
-
Just like the voice of God isn't it? Would be nice to see "In my opinion" preceeding these expressions.

She should have done a runner when she had the chance.....
Why? She's done nothing wrong. Like the Myanmar lady, she'd rather go to jail than betray her principles. Good look madam.

What a festering hypocrit is this 'person' who presided over murder, torture, beatings, massive civil disruption, occupation of government buildings, blocking elections etc etc etc. His treacherous, inhuman activities should at least have earned him a long time in jail. Instead here he is spouting off about badly behaved monks who's actions are nothing compared to what this faux monk did. How he sleeps at night I'll never know, he's a disgrace to his order.
-
Well done, Mr. Prayut. Bravo and thank you.
Are you Thai? If not, why are you thanking him??

What about foreigner prices for everything else? Entrance to different venues, etc.
Or is that "Thainess"?
No, but complaining about every little thing certainly is farang-ness.
No one forces you to go to "different venues." Hardly on the same level as obtaining medical care. Maybe attending fewer "different venues" would be healthier anyway.
I don't visit any attractions that double price. Most of them are rubbish anyway. Hospital visits are essential so you have no choice but to cough up (no pun intended). Does that make me a goody two shoes just like you?

From my observations: European & American tourist numbers - down, hence the quiet bars, Walking St etc. Russian tourist numbers - down. Chinese and Thai tourist numbers - hefty increase. All told, quieter in the bars, quite busy in the cheaper hotels/resorts and tourist areas. This is just a personal observation from a not so very observant person living in Pattaya.

Maybe it's because for every yellow that gets charged 50 reds get done. Even to the short sighted it must be obvious that it's a revenge mission with just the odd Democrat prosecuted for something, for which he'll be found not guilty.Just look at the difference in posts.. nobody here is crying political or getting angry about this. The moment one of the reds get caught its always political. I find that not really bright and this topic just proves my point. We see someone who is accused of corruption and we want him to go to jail. A redshirt get accused and its political according to the followers. I find the difference telling.
Even shortsighted people should see that its easier to find corruption in the previous ruling party (PTP) then a party that has not been in power long. Its all about who had more opportunity to commit crimes. Usually the ones in power are the ones that enrich themselves. Guess what party has been dominant.. logic demands then that they are the corrupt ones. Not because the other side is honest.. its more about opportunity.
Good enough explanation for you
No! Not even slightly decent. So things like the airport seizure, blocking elections, total disruption in Bangkok, intimidation of government officials, etc etc etc. This doesn't count because the Dems weren't in 0ower at the time. Sheer nonsense.

plenty of time to cover the money trail,
But wait there's stuff on this guy from twenty years ago that is STILL UNASNSWERED, (Land deals, palm oil, etc,) there's been a lot of people out there that have said this guy is protected and maybe now it's time for the masquerading monk to pay the piper, Well about bloody time, Wait a sec, my bad he's protected, case closed.
YO,,, coastas, djjamie, Halloween, and the others out there that have this BRO-MANCE with this low life, where are you? normally your out in force proclaiming he's innocence and his almost divinity, the problem is this guy will walk as usual and so the beat goes on.
My challenge to you is do your research and show us just what he is accused of, has he answered for the charges and why has it been so long to get the questions answered?
And not just him, his kids also, the fruit don't fall to far from the tree, or have those charges been lost or quietly let go as per usual.
Doubt there are many defending him. You don't see them defending him. I also don't defend Suthep and hope he gets jailed. But unlike topics where reds are charged nobody is crying political or bombing the country.
Guess yellow supporters are brighter in general.
I must congratulate the junta for going after a real high person on the democrats side.. wonder how the reds can now justify the its political. Seems they are MORE serious now as ever before about corruption. (still far from perfect)
"Guess yellow supporters are brighter in general"
you must be the exception to the rule then - arrogant nonsense

A lot of the worst offenders late at night aren't even these specialized trucks. Its the regular cars and pickups that have been outfitted with a few bass speakers that pull up on the beach after 1 AM. They don't look out of the ordinary but once they open their doors, they can be almost as loud as the truck pictured.
Loud enough to be heard a mile away if you are on a high enough floor. Its a constant presence in Jomtien from sunset on almost every night. Talk about a diminished quality of life. If you are in a condo by the beach, this is the sountrack to your life.
The deafening base-heavy music is, for me, the biggest drawback to living in Pattaya. If you live anywhere near the beach or Sukhumvit you're doomed.

I think the US would give him a passport simply for being a fugitive from an M word D word. A lot of countries don't take an M word D word seriously at all.
Especially when the M word D word and Democrat sponsored judiciary forced him to become a fugitive by fleeing for his life.

And where is 50 year old rice farmer going to get a job ?
If all these rice paddies turned into veggie patches where would they be able to sell them and at what price ?
Start with the classifieds like most of us, or check out the Labour ministry? Provided they can read...
Sometimes when I read the comments on here I despair of being a member of the human race. My brother in law works damned hard and is struggling to make a living this year. He's getting on in years, how on earth can he uproot from his home in the sticks and get a job in the city amongst all the younger competition? Now, maybe nobody owes this guy a living but members on here could at least have a little sympathy for their fellow humans struggling to make ends meet.
Yours is the sort of comment I'd expect from an avid supporter of the junta.

That island is not really a part of Europe anyway. Begone.
Shame then that these "islanders" gave so many lives in two devastating world wars that you might be free to say such things.
Without us and our American "cousins" you'd be speaking German or maybe Russian, depending where you come from. Or even French - 200 years since Napoleon got his arse kicked.
The EU was intended as a common market. That's what I voted on in 1975. It now wants to rule the sovereign nations, impose more and more layers of unnecessary red tape and create more and more jobs for the boys and girls, their spouses and cronies.
Germany wants to dominate and feels it has the right to dictate to the other Eurozone members, France is bankrupt and directionless but keeps rattling its rusty saber, and there are still massive differences in attitudes, productivity and adherence to rules between the North and South. More and more countries see it as a club where they can leach of wealthier neighbors.
Would you prefer an "old" Europe of Spain, France, Germany and Austo-Hungry perhaps?
This is the first post of yours I've ever agreed with. It's amazing really in the face of what you've written that you're pro-junta. Anyway, well said lad!

It's Thai attitudes that need changing not the tests. Doesn't matter what's laid down, it's getting Thais to obey the rules that's the problem. They know that you aren't supposed to drive the wrong way along a road or jump a red light but they do it anyway. What's needed is strict enforcement of laws and large fines/bans for wrongdoers. The big stick is what's needed.

What a red herring this is, and anyone believing anything else is deluded. No one has any reason more than I to loathe the RTP, BUT there are some genuinely good and able police officers, including some from the top. This is merely another 'red' - aka Taksin allied - cleaning of the opposition exercise. What happened to the Russian kidnap case involving soldiers on Phuket? Who won? None so blind as those who will not see.
My goodness! 13 posts for Thaksin to get a mention. Surprising when you consider that there were no corrupt lawmen before he came to power.

"Abhisit warns of problems unless draft constitution is amended"
That The Right Honorable Abhisit is saying this is significant. More significant than the criminal fringe dwellers that populate the shadows of rebellion. He portrays a measured calm narrative for the benefit of the people. Abhisit is very smart, and being a Thai patriot I am convinced that he puts Thailand first before himself and the DEMS.
The Thai Democrat Party also will not cripple Thailand as the Pheu Thai Party was doing. The Democrats were making Thailand stronger. PTP was wrecking the country. They were crippling the poor in false promises, debt and threats if they dared rise up and demand from the PTP what they were promised.
They are still breaking the law, ignoring authority and disrespecting any attempt at reconciliation while the DEM's are quietly working with the farmers to improve their standing in a sustainable measure that ensures they never have to rely on hand outs again thus making them self sufficient.
When this man speaks he is not mentioning blood, death, division, hatred, abuse or violence. This is someone that respects that law whether he agrees with it or not and is to be commended for his composure and articulate nature that has one aim to unify and benefit the majority.
So when The RIght Honorable Abhisit speaks we don't need to cringe waiting to hear words of death, violence and division. We hear words of unification, respect for the majority and reconciliation through articulate dialect.
I don't disrespect the PTP for why they have done for the majority. I disrespect them for what they have not done for them For using them and for abusing them.
Well done Abhisit and it is always refreshing to hear your words that don't offend anyone, lead to court cases or offer degrading abuse to opposition factions.
That is what separates you from the animals.
Animals, like the 90-odd people he's accused of murdering?

The title has a question mark at the end, but are posters even allowed to write what we really feel without getting ban from tv or getting into trouble with the law?
Give it a go and we will see how you get on................
Yet, in the true spirit of reconciliation, the yellows/junta crowd can say what they like about the PTP/Shiniwatras etc without fear of arrest and being banned/having there posts removed from TV. Very even-handed. What?

No need to bother with evidence or proof or anything like that! This is reading like an Alfred Hitchcock novel.
Just catch the red shirts and get it over with.
Just out of curiosity, how are you going to spin your way out of it if it turns out to be totally unconnected with the red shirts?
Yeah, yeah the evidence proved the driver killed Akeyuth as well!!!
If someone punched you in the face 20 times by a RS and then you put a blindfold on and you got punched in the face again…Who would you think did it. The PDRC!
I personally hope it was a one off and is not the red shirts as we do not need the reds rising again to unleash their brand of terror on the peaceful majority. But then I hoped the Bangkok bombing was a one off as well. I am sure I will hope the next red shirt bombing will be a one off as well and the next and the next….Until they destabilize confidence in the government.
They said it themselves that if the economy fails it will gel the previous opposing political parties to unite and oppose the govt. This came from Jatuporn, HRW and Crisis group. All entities linked to red shirt groups with jatuporn being the leader of the group.
I also remember the PDRC blowing themselves up just to strenuously deny the fact the reds did that as well.
Will history ever teach you...
Stab a ferkin sausage, he's back. I was kinda hoping that you'd gone on permanent duty to Ulan Bator or somewhere. Wherever it is you've been it didn't dull that imagination of yours. Have you considered writing childrens' books? Your ability to conjure up fairy stories could earn you a fortune. How about I start you off.... "Once upon a time, there was a red under my bed....."

Right... Let's all get pissed out of our minds, strip off our clothes and walk around our respective villages shouting, "I'm being oppressed by overzealous religious hypocrites!"
Whatever floats your boat. From the way that you carry on I reckon your username should be Local Not Drunk Enough.
