  1. i honestly do not think doing any housework on your own house is a breach of any kind. BECAUSE you are not engaged in a commercial or business environment.

Sure tourist police can stop and TRY to make a case, but i doubt they would insist if you simply do not comply with them, AGAIN because you are not involved in a commercial activity of any kind.

Of course if your spouse owns a restaurant and you are painting it or stacking the fridge, you are in breach. because it is a commercial premises

The Tourist Police or any other police does not hae jurisdiction on work permits. It is a matter for the local Employment Office. So if a police officer of any kind tries to interfere with your grass cutting or whatever, tell them to piss off. OIr to call the EO.

It only took 4 pages for a sensible response? Must be a record for the Phuket Forum.

  2. Tried the lebanese place on Sai Yuan the other day. Awful, will never come back.

First of all, the setting : green lights in the restaurant... brilliant idea from the owner! Customers look like zombies and food straight out of sewage pipes.

Service was standard thai style : we were 4, each of us ordered a kebab, but we only got two for unkwown reasons. biggrin.png

The kebab consisted in some ultra dry and bland chicken, not marinated, spiced up or anything, with chopped salad and tomato on the side of the plate, and some cold industrial pita bread. I don't recall the exact price but it was more than 200thb and a basic rip off.

Last year there was a decent lebanese restaurant next door, with bamboo decoration and red lightning, too bad it didn't survive, it was quite good and not too pricey.

Right now i would guess that the best choice for kebab in rawai is the small stand outside laguna plaza. 100thb and surprisingly tasty kebab!

Hey compirnicus, you do realize that kebab people on Sai Yuan are the same people selling kebabs at Laguna and Icon?

  3. thanks for the quick replies... I thought at first the one at Juncgeylon would be ideal - until I had a look at their rates.. monthly costs from 7-800 baht per m3 for small units from 9-15 m3.. that's more expensive than what I would pay back hime in Canada!! I've emailed the Chalong place for their rates as they arent posted on their website.. maybe better to look for a vacant unfurnished room in the Patong area...

Yes I agree. For that ammount the should include a fan, small fridge, and wifi. Living it up in paradise.

  4. Hey MacWalen!

Not everyone in Phuket is some dumb dick pensioner injecting their opinion like anyone gives a shit. I know at least 2 people in this thread. Broke losers stirring the shit.

  5. sorry to bump an old thread. This just happened to me. Loaded the machine with cash to deposit and when I confirmed the amount, the ATM went offline and spit out my card and receipt and no money back. Went inside the bank where they called bangkok or wherever and have to wait 3-5 days to get the money back.

  6. worst burger in my opinion was a tie..

Burger joint at Cheers bar in Rawai, tasted like seasoned something with not much meat involved..gross I tossed it

Hey bro, I own that one. You should probably not talk bad about my burgers, Burgers Mafia. There is Meat Involved.

  7. Crate train the dog. Dogs will not poop and pee where they sleep. Keep it in a crate and when you let it out take it immediately outside and reward the good behavior. When it has an accident you should put its face directly in the mess and slap the dog on its snout (moderately) and put immediately back in its crate. Should take just a few weeks.
