I got my new bike from here last week: http://www.tpmotorcycle.com/default.htm

On a Mazda Astina it'll be on the left hand side of the engine, you have no fan belt, only a timing belt, usually covered in a plastic box, and the belt that needs replacing will run from the air-con, power steering and alternator.
Get them to check the timing belt while you're at it. Not many Thais bother changing them at 100,000KLMs. If that goes then BIG trouble.
-
Power steering belt mate, get it tightened or better still replace it, a few hundred Baht I think.

Yeah, 3 years of more rot dit!!!!

Just got myself a 2000 model Yamaha TDM 850 today, 200K which is not a bad price, bit clunky, but a fun motorbike, just need to get used to bikes again as this is the first one I've had for nearly 10 years.
Anyone wants to hook up for a ride from Bangkok let me know.
-
Also no rear discs or climate control for the top spcc which is a let down.

Just been to the Nissan showroom, and taken the new Nisssan Tiida for a spin. Took the 1.8L top spec model, nearly 870K. Nice motors, got a bit of poke, interiors are nice, even for my 6'4" frame. Worth considering for a nicer than the Yaris/Jazz hatchbacks.
My missus Yaris is just too small, useless boot, and noisy engine.

I have seen a brand new one of thes for sale..looks great
Has anyone any experiences with these cars?
Great looking car, talked with Mazda dealers last time I been to Lumpini branch. The only problem is ###### expensive compared to other countries...3750000 baht for the new car, I think in EU or US this car never goes over 40K USD. The good thing they can break it for 6 years downpayment, so in the end you paying something like 60K baht per month.
Bargain!!!!

Saw the trailer with the blender with my kid when I took her to see Superman, not the sort of thing a 7 year old needed to see!!!!

What number am I?
-
Eh???
-
All depends on what the dealer want for it. There's a reasonable Camry in todays Bkk Post.
-
Great looking cars, not to sure about the Wankel engines if Thai mechanics will be able to maintain it properly, bit pricey mind, 2++ million used 2003/4 million Baht.
Personally for the same money I'd look at the Nissan 350Z.

I was at a Toyota dealership in the Uk a few weeks ago checking out the UK spec HiLux/Vigo, these cars come from Thailand via South Africa, part assembled here, and the finishing touches put on there, or someting, chassis number sare not the same as here: MROFZ29G------
They're the same car, lower spec, gray interiors and dashes, Toyota heater etc.
I export Thai Vigos so should have an idea as to the difference.
The UK spec invincible is the 2002-4 model Sportcruiser here.
-
Q is top spec, 4 airbags, DVD and navigation if you're lucky. E is the 2.0L more basic model, but underpowered I'd guess too.
Resale is always best on the top spec model.
Most one2car dealers are reasonable, some have silly ideas what their cars are worth though.
-
Somchai and the Som Tam Vendors.
Chomp Chomp Chomp.
Great track.
-
UK HiLux 102 HP no intercooler, Thai spec 163HP all the beels and whistles, 2K cheaper too!!!
-
Shatin is milesssss away!!
-
I'd stick with a Camry, power is fine, easier to resell with a smaller engine, and you can't beat Toyota reliability, I do like the 3.0L Accords though!!!!
-
Imported Vigos from Thailand to the UK should all have heaters installed, only available from after markets shops, not available from Toyota, quality varies, we install OEM heaters these days, but they weren't that readily available a few months ago.
-
No plates so not legal.
-
For that money I'd go for a recent 2004/5 model Camry, top spec with the DVD/Navigation system, warranty still valid for another couple of years and no worries on mechanical problems etc. If you can stretch to 2 million then consider only BMW and some basic Mercs for your money.
-
It's worth around 750,000 Baht I'd say, a dealer will pay maybe 690K for it.
