  2. Well i really do not see the point, unless they planning to use this as an excuse to use lethal force.

But 100's if not 1000's of police could not stop the red shirts from breaking into the ASEAN summit in Pattaya, so i really do not see how this law will do the job.

Should 10000 or so of red shirts decide to head over to Phuket, i doubt the law will stop them, as its already been proven that police are useless and only the army in large numbers are capable of doing anything.

  3. Why not just tattoo a number on the arm's of all foreigners to keep track of them .... I can't believe this .... :)

Don't the Thais have the right to ensure those who come into and stay in the country are ligitimate? Many countries in the world have registration systems to provide information on who is living where and for how long. What's the problem?

It's no hardship for the foreigner, it's the guesthouse or hotel that has to provide the info and like i say many other countries do the same.

With the security situation in Thailand and the world the way it is ithink it's well over due!

    ================================================================================

    =======================

HEY MISTER PANIC-PERSON (and you're obviously not the only oe on this litle forum !) : Why don;t you slow down and relize a few things:

    1. We ARE all guests in this brilliant country

    2. Last time in Pattaya, no measures (security) to speak of, were taken and look what happened there

    3. Whenever you write your comments; PRETEND hat some Thai people are reading this forum too . . . . .

"Yellow-Stars" and "Tatoo'd Numbers-on-arms", what a bunch of super rude and extremely infantile suggestions; certainly show the level of thought some of these people are (only) capable of.

Just because a web-site forum is a "printed" media, doesn't mean that you can just write anything (like the super-insults which appeared here), only morons of epic proportions do this; I just bet your mouths aren't half as big, when it comes to person-to-person communications.

    Let's all behave ourselves.

BTW; this system of ospitality Industry reporting excists in many other civilized countries; maybe check out your own country, before criticizing the one you have chosen to live in ?

I must admit, sometimes some of the comments are a bit insulting to the Thai people, surely if a person thinks the place hopeless and still stays here then they should possibly question they're own intelligence.

Thailand is, unfortunately, catching up with the rest of the over-governed "civilized" countries, but I guess if they don't move with the times then they will be exploited or left behind.

I think any measures to counter terrorism have to be good

Being reported to the immigration really does not solve the terrorism issue, in fact it does not solve any problems at all, just creates more work for the hotel owners.

Thailand allows in any one without even checking their background, why do you think Thailand is an escape heaven for drug dealers, smugglers, gun runners etc.

Having people reported does not fix the problem, half of the time this people are on fake passports and other half of the time, will rent an apartment/house.

Only short term tourists stay in the hotels, and i really doubt they will be terrorists and if they were, Thai police would not know or do anything about it anyway.

Long term expats already have to report in some way or another, so this retarded rule truly is retarded

  4. One of the reasons stated was security for the ASEAN, HMMMMM may be government should worry more about their own people (red or yellow or navy or black or whatever else color) rather then tracking tourists.

For all those agreeing with the changes-SEEK help, you obviously either Thai or have over stayed in Thailand for too long and unable to use the brain

Why and what is the reason for having all foreigners reported?

What is the purpose of keeping this information?

Should it be a security concern, then how about training idiot guards to actually stay awake.

How about thorough checks on arrival

and how about training police force to respond rather then to extort?

There seems to be no limit to human right violations in this country, so i am really unsure why even bother to talk about democracy-it never was, and never will be in this country

Special note to some Thai's who are members of this board and are winging about insults. You (Thai's) insult us foreigners and tourists on hourly basis, starting from entering the country to simply buying water. Just the word farang is insulting enough. Either in the shop or doctors or anywhere, a non Thai should be addressed as customer or male or patient not "Oh Farang here"

Calling black people from Africa or US "Negro" is insulting yet all you Thai's do it.

Calling foreigner "oowan"-fat pig is insulting to any foreigner yet is perfectly acceptable to Thais.

So if you do not like the comments which you decide are insulting-GET OFF the board and learn to respect prior to demanding respect.

  5. Sorry, not to be rude or racist, but to all Thai's and Thai Lovers

Walking up and down Walking street or the beach, i get approached at least 10 times by THAI drug dealers offering me drugs, some even go an extent of following me and annoying by making more and more offers to buy drugs.

So how and why is it ok for the THAI'S to sell drugs on Walking street with Mighty Tourist Police and Police around and is a huge crime to have it behind closed doors.?

Why is it that the THAI drug dealers selling it in the open do not get arrested, and yet 3 Italian Idiots get busted and once again behind closed doors?

Why does this make a story headline and there hardly any news or arrests made on Walking Street or the Beach?

Some made comments that the girl did not want to be gangbanged by 3 guys so had police come-People writing this or agreeing, are you really that naive? Girl is not a baby and can simply say NO.

AND ASSUMING this was the case of a gangbang, this is no reason to call the police, but she could of simply walk out of the door.

Some said that they know cops and cops do drugs but make other smells and blah blah, so that means that security was walking around patrolling each floor?-WAKE UP people, you can not get a lazy security guard ass in Pattaya to open boom gate for incoming cars, do you really think they bother to check floors?

This was a clear set up for extortion money or simply to show how good cops are at doing their job.

One thing that this morons did not think about, which is always the case is the publicity this got and will further get in Italy, making Italian tourist despise Thailand and hence less tourism.

For those who will argue with the last point, you may want to reconsider. See examples of Australian woman who was jailed for 4 days for stealing a stinky bar towel, followed by another arrest of an Australian girl who ate chocolate bar prior to paying for it at Family Mart and now visit Phuket and see how may Aussies you find there.

Yes drugs are illegal in Thailand and this should be respected, but such a tough law should be applied evenly across the board to tourists as well as Thai's

Some times, especially now when Thailand is loosing tourism by the minute, Laws can be applied individually and with the amount of drugs found split between 4 people, this would of been a 200 baht fine per person-should all 4 were Thai bar girls or Thai men.

After raiding some clubs and arresting over 100 people in total all being Thai, how many were jailed?-0

All got 200-500 baht fines and were sent home.

So why the big case now?MONEY MONEY AND MORE MONEY.

Cops can not extort at the moment, not enough people, hardly anyone renting motorcycle and most people riding one have the licence-so they need to find new avenue to make the money-and here you go.

I do feel sorry for the 3 Italian Idiots who were simply made escape goats for either some cash or an extra star on the shoulder for some new officer.

  6. All you guys seem to be missing the main point.

Obviously people will continue to do drugs, but before you were safe if you were doing in your room, behind closed doors and did not go to disco, now even that is being made into a problem.

Not only that, but it makes you think twice about what else they will come up with during the low times to extort money

  7. 3 Italian men, Thai woman arrested at drug party in Pattaya

Pattaya, Chon Buri: -- Police arrested three Italian men and a Thai woman at a drug party in this seaside town less Friday night.

They were arrested at a rented room in Southern Pattaya at 15 minutes after midnight. Police found 0.3 gramme of crystallised methamphetamine and 20 gramme of marijuana inside the room.

The tourists were identified as Davide Migliorero, 38, Davide Tomasi, 28, and Caroselli Loca, 31.

The Thai woman, Orwan Juminorn, 24, said one of the men took her from a bar on Pattaya Walking Street, where she works, to the room.

They were charged with having narcotics in possession for abusing.

    -- The Nation 2009-06-20

If this is not a clear case of set up or extortion, then i do not know what is.

How the "F" would police know what 4 people are doing in their hotel room??????????????????????

"They were charged with having narcotics in possession for abusing." ABUSING WHAT??? Drugs? Thai woman? their own body?

  8. Are they giving any indication of WHICH disco?

Cases are rising, and if they don't give any indication which disco is the plan to wait until more and more people get sick and the thing goes further. Or are they going to let anyone know?

According to the Pattaya one news website it was the Star Dice in Naklua and it is shut until further notice.

Thanks for that update, its about time this info was released.Very strange though because Star Dice is not very popular with tourists, so how would the staff get it?!

  9. "How awsome would that be when a club has over 500 people and all are breathing the flue"

Not sure if you have been to Pattaya recently, but I think and 'disco' there would be lucky to have 5 guest from abroad.

Not sure if you are still drunk from the night before or do not understand what disco means!!!!

Insomnia is packed 7 nights per week-can not move around

    Lucifers-packed 7 nights per week

Tony's half packed 7 nights per week

Marine- at least 200 after 2.30am 7 nights per week

    Mixxx-almost full 7 night s per week

    B52-Same as mix

Even some of the good gogo bars are full 7 nights per week

How do i know this? i live in Pattaya and out every night!

wow you get about live in pattaya and go in all those clubs everynight how do you do it idiot no body can be in two places at once , let alone 6+ night spots maybe you get pissed everynight and see double double

Yeah i guess your turn for a brain cell insertion has not come yet, must be still waiting in the queue?!!!RETARD

Gogo bars open from 5-6pm until 2-3am

Lucifers, Tony's, Marine are right next door to each other and takes less then 1 min to walk from one to another.

B52 is on the way to Mixxx, so anyone with any brain cells understand that to pop into each one for a drink is not a rocket science, but a common sense-something that you obviously lack.

Insomnia is open untill 6-7am so not very hard to go there after all else shuts.

So once you do get some brain cells, may be you could do a smarter posting.

  10. Sorry, everyone who is wishful thinking better read the other flu post here in News Clippings.

It is the piggy flu! :)

Problem is not the flue, problem is what is being done to prevent it from spreading.

Answer is nothing when it comes to foreigners and that is the main point. Not what kind it is, who brought it or who spreads it or why, when or whatever else people can come up with.

  11. swine flu... just a distraction from the economic problems that are bringing the world down... keep the people scared and distracted so they don't see your mistakes

Yes and AIDS is to stop people from having sex

SARS is to kill the airline industry

Cancer is to make more money

And some people need a brain cell before they are allowed to do any postings.

  13. Has anyone heard which "disco" is was in Pattaya? Depending on which one it is, one can pretty much stereotype the kinds of bars these disco goers would be at in Bangkok, and avoid them.

Thats so great. School were closed down, but no mention of which disco.

Since most of the people testes positive were the staff at disco, would not that be only common sense to name the clubs and also have them closed down for the time being or closed and properly testes if it is safe to have people in?

How awsome would that be when a club has over 500 people and all are breathing the flue, then all go to another club and spread it there, after all go back to hotel and spread some more there, then the shopping malls, movies, restaurants, then the airport.

Lets keep the clubs open and also keep the names secret.

As always, Thai government is using the backside to do all the thinking.

  14. I am confused

How could she argue when she had his organ inside her mouth?

Why were they having sex after she learned about other lover?

Did the arguement start before doing it or during?

The woman is yet to be identified?-he stayed with her for a month, so he does not know the name?

He called friends for help? Not sure about him, but if my "organ" was bitten off, i do not think i will be able to reach for the phone and make the call.

Where was she after she bite?

I think the truth behind this story is-he picked up a girl from coconut bar at 5AM, possibly half way through doing it, either disagreed over the price or he pushed it down to deep and hospital time for now and out of action for long long long time.

  15. I will land at Suvarnabhumi Airport around 5PM and want to know how to travel to Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

I would like to take some A/C bus with my 2 kids to have a safe and fast journey to Pattaya main bus stop.

    Any advice please

With 3 people it would be better if you book a taxi to pick you up at the airport - taxi driver will meet you at the arrival hall - 1 1/2 to 2 hours later you will arrive in Pattaya. Cost between 1200 - 1400 baht.

I really do not know what drugs people are taking prior to replying.

You can always take a taxi and not stress or rush and you WILL NOT pay the rates some have stated

    You have 2 choice,

1 Follow the signs to Meter Taxi-this will cost you no more then 700

2 Look for one of those screaming guys, he will tell you 1000 baht plus, you then smile and tell him 800 baht full stop. After telling you his sad story about no money-he will say yes and off you go.

Its a holiday, last thing you want is to be stuck on the bus with 2 kids-hardly anyone speaks any English and you pretty much have to worry about everything. Mind you, bus for 3 will cost you total over 300 baht, so might as well pay double but no rush, no stress and straight to the hotel door :o

  16. Soon or later, the truth will opened up for the whole world. This government is lying, tons of eyes withnesses, people got killed with the real bullets.

This killer will be the one who get the warrant. This government is a professional lies and making up stories from good guy turn to a bad guy..

Tons of evidences on the internet showing.... how long can still be lying??? At least they know what they done.. GOD is watching!!!!

    Welcome to Thaivisa.com

Are you sure your real name is not Mr Thaksin?

  17. No big deal for him. When you have billions and you're on the run, you don't let your life depend on the Thai Foreign Ministry to cancel your passport or not.

Do not get so much ahead of yourself.

Any person worldwide by world standards or possibly even a law can only hold 2 passports.

Now that everyone knows of Thai passport being revoked, he can only use one other.

He may find it difficult to get around on just one passport especially when he is not allowed into any decent developed countries.

I doubt China will be happy to have him back, after Chinese head of state had to run from Thailand.

Which pretty much leaves him only some arab states and possibly drug country's, such as Panama or Nicaragua

With Arab states, he may start to have a problem as he is now wanted criminal so they may ask him to leave to avoid international problems0they have enough as is.

and spotting an asian person in Panama would not be too hard.

So all in all, he may find himself in a little situation which i doubt he could even predict.

Do not forget man who managed to rape the country and get so rich is very proud and i am sure he thought he would win this round.

  18. It must be also said, the PM Abhiist has handled the situation so well!

Some may say too late, but look at the whole picture

-Reds were trying to show him off, where he managed to turn it around and gain respect and popularity from the Thai People as well as All International Community including the heads of states, further to that US has condemned the reds for their violent actions.

I think he will be remembered in Thai History and i am more then happy to see what changes he will bring to Thailand.

Hopefully less corruption especially within Police and in treatment of foreigners.

Without taking sides, PAD will never be removed as it is part of or sponsored by the army-so no chance.

But i think if there will be any demonstrations in the future, i would much prefer the PAD rather then the red, not because i support PAD, but only because they did not try to kill civilians and try to blow up the country. And i am sure would of had little more respect for the timing being Songran

In respect of Mighty Thaksin, well enough has been said already. But if he was as sincere as he claims to be, i think he would of been a hero if he was to say

-" That if he could return, he would donate 25% or 50% of the frozen money to the people"-

He would of had an enourmous support

On a personal note(this trick that he pulled, cost him a a lot more to sponsor and consequences still to come)

  19. Congrats to Abhisit for hanging in there during tough times, and not blowing his cool. It would have been easy for him to sic the generals on the rioters. Particularly because he (Abhisit) was personally attacked, not once, but twice, and some of his top aides were physically bloodied.

Congrats to the Army for acting professional and restrained - even in the face of danger from attacks. The army had the superior weapons, and would have been justified (in some peoples' perspectives) for shooting in self-defense - but they didn't.

Kudos to brave Bangkok residents who dynamically stood up for their neighborhoods - even going so far as to physically grapple with some of the hoods who would destroy properties and harm others near the residents' homes and businesses.

Kudos to the Yellow Shirts for not coming out to counter the Reds. There are pockets of maturity and self-discipline among Thais - it's just not always evident.

Maybe one should also mention that the Royal Thai Police have once again shown that there is no job so important that they will do it, if there is no money to be made :o

    / Priceless

I think this was always an unspoken truth, but do not be surprised now to see how may high ranks heads will be cut and the power will be taken away from them, just giving them the roads.

So be prepared for more extortion when you pulled over.

Funny though, through out this crisis, i hardly saw any cops on the streets nor i did not see any cops pulling or controlling any roads at all.

Once saw Italian guy causing some mayhem in the restaurant, cops were called(2 of them) and they stood there for over 2 hours doing nothing.

Once in Bangkok, about 6 years ago, saw 2 Russian guys going crazy, cops were called. I am not lying the 2 of them ended up bashing 10 cops, so they had to send about 30 to actually arrest them. Was actually pretty funny to see 2 drunken men smashing 10 police-never seen it in my life and i been through half of the world

  20. I've been listening to various news sources and talking heads on TV and the western media seems really taken aback that the government used the military to solve the crises using M16's instead of the police with tear gas.

Does anyone have a clear unerstanding as to why the entire police force is nowhere to be seen? When abhisit was attacked, the police did nothing, at asean the police did nothing, when the UDD started rioting in bangkok the police did nothing. It's like there just isn't a police force in thailand.

Secondly any idea on what will happen to the police force now that they have effectively abandoned their post? Should there be a mandate that and and all security matters above traffic tickets be handled by the army since the police are unwilling to do more?

Last point, anyone notice that AJE seems pretty bias towards the UDD? They never mention wrongdoings by the UDD, they even don't mention the 2 that were killed by the UDD. At first they even claimed that the 2 deaths were UDD members themselves. They also cut thaksins interview in such a way that it seems like he's the hero never showing his rambelings that are in the full length interview

Thats easy, police once again proven to be useless and most likely are to scared to show their faces in fear of being attacked by the Bangkokians.

As for AJE, Thaksin is in Dubai-arab country and the only place anyone would give him refuge, AJE is an arab station, so since the support.

As for police being back and continue extorting, this is exactly what they will do. Do not forget they are another mob, so when have more of them they instantly grow a pair of balls and start to extort.

  21. Did the PAD have to face M16's yes or no?

Not that i can recall, then again they never rioted in the streets so there was never any reason for them to be threatened with M16's

Yes they did. Do you remember government attempt at the crack down on them with gas etc.

The difference is PAD did not attack civilians, nor did they break into banks, nor did they send in buses, not did they threaten to blow up LPG Tankers, nor did they physically harm any government member.

They were well organised and controlled and took the gas without responding, which in turn gave them more voice and more power to continue-because they were peaceful.

Did all this happen before they were attacked with M16's or after?

So the PAD never caused any damage, injured or killed anybody at all?

Damaging few cars or computers can not be compared to a threat of LPG Tanker, or attacks on civilians in their homes, or terrorising cars driving past.

and once again, reds are attacking civilians in their homes. blocking roads to hospitals? did the leaders loose their mind completely? even in the wars hospitals are "no fly" zones, just not for reds

  22. Did the PAD have to face M16's yes or no?

Not that i can recall, then again they never rioted in the streets so there was never any reason for them to be threatened with M16's

Yes they did. Do you remember government attempt at the crack down on them with gas etc.

As far as I remember PAD was fired upon a number of times by the reds , at least two PAD supporters were killed by the reds.

One red managed to blow himself up whilst handling a bomb.

"One red managed to blow himself up whilst handling a bomb." -- Once again shows the brain size of the reds. LOL
