  1. Wife has just been reading over the (admittedly biased) manager.co.th forums. Very short summary:

    * Abhisit's popularity has skyrocketed since yesterday. People seem to be very satisfied with the approach taken today to deal with the protesters.

    * People in BKK furious with the complete lack of action by the cops against the red-shirts. Many posts along the lines of asking why they should pay their tax for this.

    * Humour of it is a bit lost on me, but the double take after a mention of 500 baht cash in one of Thaksin's video phone-in's before it all hit the fan is a subject of a few laughs. Here's a

    .

/edit - on second watch the video is ace! Would love somebody to confirm the translation :o

My sweet little lotus flower agrees :D What an idiot!

TPI, does your little sweet lotus have any sweet little lotus sisters?:D

sorry, was trying to be funny and brighten up the mood in here :D

  2. Did the PAD have to face M16's yes or no?

Not that i can recall, then again they never rioted in the streets so there was never any reason for them to be threatened with M16's

Yes they did. Do you remember government attempt at the crack down on them with gas etc.

The difference is PAD did not attack civilians, nor did they break into banks, nor did they send in buses, not did they threaten to blow up LPG Tankers, nor did they physically harm any government member.

They were well organised and controlled and took the gas without responding, which in turn gave them more voice and more power to continue-because they were peaceful.

  3. Few minutes ago Abhisit spoke on all TV channels urging the "reds" to go home!

As far as I understood he spoke like a Gentlemen! My respect! I hope the reds

    got the message clear!

He looked more like he was begging. The Thai's that were watching said he looked weak, at a time when the people are looking for him to be strong.

I have to agree that visually he looked exactly as they said - weak. I hope he toughens up a bit and lays down the rule of law. There are so many less than lethal options available nowadays to law enforcement / military that there really isn't much of an excuse not to excercise some control before things get too far out of hand.

    Aloha

I think the poor guy is just tired, he has not slept for few nights, he has been slightly hurt.

This is not exactly the easiest problem to deal with. He must under pressure from all sides.

This is worse the being PM during a full on WAR, as in war you clearly know the enemy and have to kill th enemy, whereis in this situation its much more complicated and i am sure you can be rest assured he is having hard time restraining military. As we all know military commanders world wide love the opportunity to use the weapons and so on

  4. I wonder how many innocent people will die at the hands of the red shirts before this situation is resolved

So sad and yet so true, right now death toll stands at 2, do not be surprised to wake up to 10 times the number by tomorrow morning.

Perhaps not...they'll wake up tomorrow with a hangover and wonder what all the fuss is about (the red shirts that is)"I only tried a little Mekong and yaba" "So, its not my fault" and "I'm running away now!"

Both the BBC and CNN have interviews with Taksin, backed by a Thai flag, no mention of his conviction or his being on the run! :D:D:wai::P

    :o:D :D

  5. Have the Reds dropped the demand that the three privy counselors have to resign? I am not hearing that anymore along with their demand that Abhisit resign.

You not hearing anything because reds have forgotten about their demands and are too busy trying to kill or injure some civilians, set few fires and break into few banks

  6. How can acts of corruption be proven before a court verdict is delivered? :o

His most blatant act of corruption and the straw that broke the back of public opinion was not even illegal. He merely changed tax laws a couple of weeks prior to selling a portion of Thailand's telecom industry to Singapore and thus walked away with 70 billion Baht tax free. Nothing needs to be proven.

NO NO NO he did not, just like he did not change the law when he owned some of Air Asia, so this is the only foreign owned airline who can fly domestic, obviously almost doubling the price of shares.

Just like he did not change the communication laws regarding inter-connect charges, nor he hide his assets with his driver and maid before his election

Ohh good so we all agree he is a decent, innocent man who never did anything wrong and really cares about the poor before his own needs. LOL

  8. Just read this on the British Embassy Travel advice site

The Lao/Thai border crossing in Nong Chai is closed and there are reports of road blocks in Chiang Mai and Lampang in northern Thailand. Red-shirt leaders have threatened major protests in 50 cities throughout Thailand in the next few days.

I have a feeling once BKK mob is squashed, the rest will just fold

  9. So if you dont agree with red shirtsd they kill you. No surprise. Where is the drunken Thaksin?H esaid he would return to fight with his people if the military cracked down.He isnt here. The military have cracked down with a lot of local support and he inst supporting thosehe led to the streets.

Sorry hammered he is too busy giving interviews to all the stations and seeking international support.

I did love his comments with Clancy, when he said red shirts were peaceful and it was army who attacked them and reds just defended themselves, they have no weapons

As he finished the sentence, Clancy agreed and very fast added, yes no weapons just few buses.

Sorry if i did not explain it good enough, but was really funny. So if anyone can put a link to the latest interview, you will have a good laugh.

  10. To people who do not care about sides and live in Thailand! Just think how great our life will be here shortly when the baht will crash, so will Thai economy, so not only we will be able to pick up condo's very cheap but also a few girls very cheap. With virtually no tourism, think of the choice all men will have!

You really have a one track mind don't you kuffki ? :D

HMMMM, well just tired of seeing people insulting each other on here(and this was my point yesterday) and trying to see the positive in all of it.

So either form an expats party as i mentioned before(LOL) or enjoy the little pleasures Thailand has to offer :o

There is still room for memberS if you want to join for the topless expats demonstrations-LOL

  11. Any more information regarding the the people shot at the market? I hope its not true, unlike some of the young ignorant posters on this forum i dont want to see people killed. Regardless of there political views. I do find it ironic that people are so quick to advocate violence or even wishing for some to die cause they dont follow there view on the current political crisis. Anyway hope everyone stays safe and indoors tonight.

I do not know if you been following the events and posts, but you may misunderstood some posts.

The red mob started to attack civilians in their homes, attack passing by cars, shoot at civilians and finally have killed 1.

I have a feeling other people meant to shoot those responsible for the violence against civilians, they did not mean to just shoot all red supporters.

  12. To all the red supporters! I am sorry to say but you have lost, your fearless leader can only talk from a hideout. not only that he does not even support your actions any longer. If you wanted to be successful, you should stayed peaceful. Attacking and now killing civilians really did not help your cause.

To yellow shirt supporters! There really is no need to to insult the red supporters. Firstly deep inside they already know they lost, and secondly at least the ones on this forum, had enough brain and decency to stay indoors and not go join the lunatics

To people who do not care about sides and live in Thailand! Just think how great our life will be here shortly when the baht will crash, so will Thai economy, so not only we will be able to pick up condo's very cheap but also a few girls very cheap. With virtually no tourism, think of the choice all men will have!

  13. In my opinion tonight, again late in the night, army will swoop through the red lines. Arrest some leaders, disarm the mob and let them stay there under heavy guard.

Once leaders are arrested, Thaksin can no longer keep paying, the retards will disperse and go home with their tails between their legs.

Next round would be PTP, who would then start to claim that the government used excessive force etc. Once proven otherwise, they will start a new song-government failed to protect summit.

Most likely few months later, Thaksin would be brought back to Thailand, charged with treason and conspiracy to murder and few others, sentenced to 100 years in jail.

Then PTP will realize they can not win and will shut up.

Few years down the road, everything will start again

  14. Did you see the end picture on AJE.

A solidier pulling a woman along the ground by her hair.

He just kept on pulling her and ripping her hair and dragging her along on the ground, while she screamed. Only when someone else intervened did he stop.

His face is on camera, action must be taken.

This is the kind of thing that will divide Thailand, unrequired sheer brutality by the government and its cronies against civilians.

I hope AJE keep showing that, thats the kind of thing people need to see to get a balance view of why the Reds are so angry at the moment, after being incited into violence by the Blue Shirts to start with.

Need to get that clip put on YouTube. Your friendly woman beating, hair pulling Thai army solidier who picks on a woman standing doing nothing and grabs her hair and drags her along the floor.

    What an embaressment.

Levelhead, i am sure you are a nice guy and have all the right to support whoever you like. But you really need to sit back and try to use your own brain to analyze all the facts(thats if you capable of actually doing that)

Try to use your own brain and not what your mighty leader tells you as he obviously does not care about you or any other people with little brain wearing red shirts. All he and he "friends" want is to return to power, so he can his money back and continue to rob people and country.

How may die or get injured is last in his list of worry, he only cares about his own ass.

  15. There are approx 60 000 expats living in Thailand, how about we all get together and go topless. We will demonstrating for farang rights, no police extortion, cheaper prices for girls, better exchange rate, and what ever else people can contribute!

    ANYONE WANT TO JOIN? :o

ROFL, i think 60,00 topless expats would constitute some kind of crime against humanity

LOL, with my hairy chest i surely be able to scare a few soldiers away!

Opposition party wants urgent House meeting

    By The Nation

The opposition Pheu Thai Party on Monday demanded that the government stop using force to crack down on the red-shirt protesters and instead convene an emergency House session to settle the ongoing political conflicts.

Pheu Thai leaders, including opposition chief whip Withaya Buranasiri and Deputy House Speaker Apiwan Wiriyachai, led party MPs in a press conference. The politicians had met to discuss the situation following clashes between security officials and protesters early in the morning.

The opposition party issued the following five-point demand:

    1. The government must stop using force and violence against people.

    2. A joint Parliament meeting must be convened urgently to find a way out of the country's deepening division.

    3. Should the government ignore the two above demands, the Pheu Thai Party will mobilise more protesters into Bangkok.

    4. The media must present neutral coverage as biased reports are dangerous. The party cannot accept the government's muzzling of information. It demands that the government allow the public to get two sides of the story.

    5. Thais across the country, no matter what political colour they belong, must resort to peaceful solutions.

    3. Should the government ignore the two above demands, the Pheu Thai Party will mobilise more protesters into Bangkok.

Pretty much definite proof that PTP is linked to the reds and now openly supports the insurgent forces in bangkok.

i find it soo funny that the reds shirts keep trying to dig their way out of a hole. In their thirst for power they have become the worst thing to ever happen to thailand in recent history.

    The reds have

    1. Openly said that they will harm the PM

    2. Harmed the PM

    3. Threatend to blow up the democrats HQ

    4. Attacked members of the armed forces

    5. Vandalized public property

6 Threatend to blow up 2 LPG trucks in residential neighbourhoods

    Go reds ! what's next ?

Some saying PTP should start the "Green Shirts" to come to Bangkok and demonstrate against Abhisit, Suthep, Newin, Blue Shirts, Use of Violence against civilians.

Perfect way for the PTP to make a statement and seperate from the ongoing Red shirts.

There are approx 60 000 expats living in Thailand, how about we all get together and go topless. We will demonstrating for farang rights, no police extortion, cheaper prices for girls, better exchange rate, and what ever else people can contribute!

    ANYONE WANT TO JOIN? :o

  17. How embarassing watching Farang tourists think they are "hard" by running into the middle of the riots, shirtless thinking they are brave taking pictures on their phones.

What a bunch of bloody idiots!

Did you expect anything else from the tourist? especially in Thailand? LOL

Shirt off, was to get some tan while taking the pictures -LOL

  18. abhisit on cnn sounding very professional

doesn't matter whether he's charismatic or not (and he seems to be very charismatic)

bottom line is that he was the PM who allowed world leaders to come here resulting in airlifts for lack of protection (when he could have canceled the meetings on Thursday before they got here)...he'll never again be taken seriously by the world

between that and the fact that he was never on a ballot, he'll likely be a former PM in short order

all unfortunate, but how it goes i'm afraid

I would disagree with you there.

I think he showed a remarkable restraint and did try all possible to avoid military action.

And now that military has moved in, look at how reasonably peaceful they are doing the job.

If anything he should be praised! In his actions he showed the world WHO really Thaksin is and WHO his supporters are.

  19. Irrespective of what he(Thaksin) will cry now, or what anyone thinks, along with treason, he should be charged with conspiracy to commit (murder/crime) along with other few criminal charges(which for some reason i can not recall at this moment)

A simple proof is-Did anyone see or hear him calling on red shirts to stop the blood shed? to stop the violence? to stop destruction of public property? to stop attacking civilians? to stop attacking government members and employees of the government house? answer is NO

Hello.. He was just on CNN calling for a return to peaceful ways on all sides. Please, if you can't keep up then just don't post at all and spread misinformation. If anyone should be in court for treason then I can name a few.

    Well said my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HE WAS JUST ON CNN, and i do point out your words "JUST"

Where was he 24 hours ago? in the airport trying to take the next flight?

not even 24 hours ago, how about few hours ago when you mates were threatening to blow up LPG Tanker in the residential area which would of killed hundreds if not thousands-HE MUST OF BEEN SLEEPING(was past his bed time)

  20. Thaksin is on CNN right now, claiming that he doesn't understand why the UDD became so violent. He is getting his butt handed to him by a very aggressive CNN interviewer (yes, i am biased). I would imagine they will post the interview on CNN.com soon.

    Great quote:

Interviewer said - "You were accused of widespread and wholesale corruption, why should the Thai people trust you?"

HAHAHA Good one, so now that army is about to squash the violent retards-and he is to be charged with treason along other many many charges, he is now again playing the "victim"

Typical not to post Mr. Thaksin's answer.. Which was quite obviously that he was ousted in a military coup, then the junta changed the constitution and other laws and presided over the corrupt courts pursuing drummed up political charges.. Honestly I think we can all agree that those courts have no legitimacy; the international community at least agrees. Thaksin simply could not get a fair trial under current circumstances.

Are you trying to say that your mighty leader Thaksin was not corrupt? that he did not rip off the country and its people? That he did not change the laws to acomodate his business? that he did not avoid paying taxes?

Fair trial or not fair trial-he did all of the mentioned.

Yes he did give money to Isaan and hence the support, but did he give his own money? NO he gave governments/peoples money. What a great leader.

Man has few billion dollars and would not donate even $1 to charity for his own people.

Thats what you call a true patriot and humanitarian. He should be nominated for Nobel prize.
