  1. 3 months showing monthly income equivalent to THB65k or lump-sum
    amount of THB800k.
READ THE POST PEOPLE!!! OR 65K A MONTH FOR 3 MONTHS ... THATS ONLY 1300 QUID A MONTH. SO NO YOU DONT NEED 800K AT ALL. SECONDLY THIS IS A SIMILAR AMOUNT THE UK GOVERNMENT WANT US TO EARN IF WE WANT A THAI SPOUSE TO COME OVER HERE. SO THE GOVERNMENTS VISA POLICIES ARE SIMILAR.
REMEMBER NOR 800K. JUST 1300 UK POUNDS FOR 3 MONTHS. EASY PEASY

the amount is pension or wages adding up to £1300..

no property income or any other income is allowed..

i earn £2500 a month was rejected..£1000 was pension..£1500 other income from property rental and self employed...

i have £10000 uk pounds in the bank...they did not take that in to consideration..

Im shocked to read this as my income, approved today (see above), was all bits and pieces, and 100% rental income. I even put my 'employment status' on the application form as semi-retired landlord. and in 'supporting evidence' I wrote 'last 3mths bank statements attached' and in brackets 'Income from rents'. Some was Housing benefit, some were different tenants paying in rents and rent top-ups, all this interspersed with transfers in from another interest earning account I have with another bank. Even if they thought the council HB payments were pension payments, they were nowhere near enough to cover the 1400 per month required! Mai Kao Jai!

  5. So under the new rules (both Thailand and the UK) some poor sods who are married to a Thai and have children together will be unable to live together as a family.

There are no changes for getting an extension of stay here from immigration.

Only in the UK for visas.

So basically it's just yet another case of a consulate making up their own rules (or more accurately their own interpretation of the rules).

Situation normal, then - no change whatsoever to the actual, official, Thailand Immigration rule book.

Not the consulate. I am applying for a non O multiple at Hull early next week and I spoke to them on Monday. They were very clear that they did not make the new rules, the Thai embassy in London did (I surmise, under direction from Bangkok).

i have just been turned downed for a O visa which i have had fo 10 years..

reason...my pension income was not £1400..a month.. or other working income to make it up to £1400..

i earn £2500.a month with pension and self employed income and property income..i also have £9000.in my uk bank accpunt..

i sent them cerfified acccounts from the accountent..which was ignored...

so it seems 800000 in a thia bank or forget it..

i am now back to tourist visa....double entry £50..a time..so every time i get back to the uk..the passport has to go away for the visa stamp...nuisance for sure..

when i am 65 or so...get the O visa back...

  6. I'm not interested in numbers but money on Thai girls is being spent on schools, universities, room & board for school, health insurance, support for parents when they infrequently request it, and support for a mother who has no family to watch her kid when she is traveling for work among other issues.

I do not consider this paying for girlfriends -- I consider it a long term investment even if some of the payback is current.

Well there we go then. I think we've found out why so many guys are claiming you can't live in Thailand for 45,000B per month because they are giving away cash hand over fist to their 'girlfriends' for everything under the sun.

Reality check guys, most young guys coming to Thailand do not need to do this so next time you try and claim it's impossible and that the OP is deluded / needs double his budget / should stay at home stop and think about where most of your monthly budget is going and then consider than not everyone will be doing the same.

Minus your girlfriend costs and I bet you'll find you're living in Thailand for a similar amount to what the OP will have per month.

a live in wife / girlfriend is costly...

    apartment with electric / water..around 5000..

    car payment 12000..+ 5000 fuel..

    school..costs 2 kids...3000..

    wife / g friend...15000...

thats 40000...with out any thing else being wanted..even when the car is finished ,it will be .we buy new car..i give this one to family...

    thailand aint cheap any more

  7. It is just 9 billion dollar. The army is wasting that amount every quarter. Sometimes they buy an aircraft carrier for helicopters, sometimes they buy armored vehicles fro the Ukraine without airco that serves now as a artificial reef and sometimes they buy a leaky Zeppelin which the insurgents see coming from a 100Km distance.

It seems there is more than enough money. But I am still wondering, if it is really meant for buying votes (Abhisit sponsoring the army, hoteliers and other failing businesses and Yingluck farmers) what about the consumers that are far greater in number. Do they like it when their food prices go up dramatically? Come on there must be better ways to give farmers a better chance on a good income. Give them each 100K a year for the next 3 years and send them for that amount to school during the dry and hot season. Teach them to grow other crops and pay for the transition. Thailand seem to be stuck in the early 1900's. Too small farms, too much manual labor, too little help from agricultural universities without connections to the evil Monsanto's of this world. Learn farmers to innovate and use the 10 million USD for that purpose. It will work out money well spent.

thais wont change..live in a village for a while..you can see why..the thai men belittle those who ask any thing..they dont wont to learn any new things or ways..

i showed them many ways of doing thing..total waste of time
