Bangkok Bank/iBanking No New Applications
Like they say, the Krungsri Bank app is the future. Very easy to use.

Bangkok Bank/iBanking No New Applications
At Krungsri the face scan didn't work for me either. Until I disabled my abroad SIM, and had only my Thai SIM enabled. Then it worked like a charm. Never thought of that. Try it, if you have dual SIM. And your VPN must also be disabled.

Foreigners rally against BBC's ‘Thailand: the dark side’ doc
You used to have some classic humour and comedy shows as well. I love the old British humour. Not the 9 o'clock news, Mr. Bean, Monty Python, Benny Hill.. Fun times 😄

Strength of the baht just keeps rising
And Thai Baht and USD continues to weaken against several European currencies. I wonder why, with a clown in the white house. Are they great yet?

Charlie Kirk Shooting: Heartfelt Tribute From Grieving Widow
This. America's "us against them" hate-policy, is baffling to watch. The US have never been more divided than today, and this speech was fueling that. This shooting wasn't about the lefts against the rights, but about one confused, insecure, easy manipulated single individual doing a crazy act of horror. Because of all the hate you guys throw at each other every single day.

Strength of the baht just keeps rising
Correct, and Baht has weakened even more compared to Nordic currencies this year, Kroners. Even the last 5 days, Thai Baht has weakened to these currencies, the complete opposite of the know-it-all claim above here.

British Expat Shares Thai Retirement Costs, Inspires Moves
Sorry if I missed the answer to this, but is 50 baht average for each meal? Or each day? You will need more than one meal a day..

Strength of the baht just keeps rising
Go check for yourself how Baht has WEAKENED towards my currency lately, NOK (and SEK). "At least 10% or more strengthened against EVERY Western currency..?" LOL. You're talking bs, and telling me to learn how to read graphs, when you are lying out of your ass.

Strength of the baht just keeps rising
Bullshiit... I just explained that USD took a HIT compared to several Western currencies YESTERDAY, and the days before, and Baht didn't move. Silly comments my butt. All you Americans can do, is insulting others. Feel good do ya?

Strength of the baht just keeps rising
Okay, thanks for the clarification. Strangely enough, USD took a hit compared to my currency NOK (and Swedish SEK) yesterday, and went under 10 kroner, to 9.85. Baht didn't move, so obviously something happened in opposite direction yesterday compared to us.

Strength of the baht just keeps rising
Compare USD to Euro, since that's another huge currency, and you'll see a clear downfall of dollar since Trump took office in January. From 1.03, to today's 1.17. Same goes for other currencies in Europe as well, such as Norwegian, Swedish and Danish Kroners, Swiss franc etc. Norwegian (and Swedish) Kroners have strengthened from 11.50 for a dollar in January, to 9.85 today. That's a huge shift. Your graph makes no sense to me. Thai Baht has also gotten weaker compared to all these currencies this year, because Thailand is leaning their Baht towards USD.
-
Strength of the baht just keeps rising
It's the USD losing ground to many other currencies. 1 USD was 11.50 to Norwegian Kroner NOK when Trump took office in January. 1 USD today is 9.85. Same goes with SEK, and even Euro. Since Baht is pretty much influenced by USD, many currencies now get more Baht for their money (NOK and SEK up around 8% since January). So we are indeed happy with this development.

British Expat Shares Thai Retirement Costs, Inspires Moves
I don't, and I know that's not helping, but on youtube you'll find thousands of videos explaining the exact same thing. That you can live reasonably well for 1000-1500 USD a month in Thailand, and they'll break it down for you. These videos have brought thousands and thousands of retired foreigners to Thailand, who want to escape the increase of living costs in their own country, but might not really cover the financial requirements to live here in Thailand, and therefore many use visa agents. Nothing wrong with that, and I could probably live on that amount too, but I'm glad I don't have to.

British Expat Shares Thai Retirement Costs, Inspires Moves
I'm not from UK, but I do think that many prices in Thailand 10 years ago, are pretty much the same today. I don't agree with those saying Thailand has become so much more expensive now, around me I think I pay pretty much the same for my lifestyle, only slightly more. Although the Pound may have taken a hit compared to Baht, so I can see that concern. I feel for you guys with frozen pensions, I'm thinking about that every year when they raise mine.

Should immigration know where your money originates as income?
No worries. We agree, and that's the main thing. Since I retired in Thailand this time, I'm just happy here, and feel privileged to be able to live here full time. I know I did the right choice. This is by far the best country in SEA for me. I'll let others complain, no one will hear any of that from me 😆 Cheers, Licuorice 🙏

Should immigration know where your money originates as income?
This link has been posted here 5-6 times already. That's what I am stating. In your first post you stated that the income method had to come from a pension. That's what I corrected from your post. I'm glad we agree now, although correcting me for my use of immigration act, instead of immigration order, is just over the top in my book. Unnecessary, but if you feel better by it, that's fine. Have a great day.

Should immigration know where your money originates as income?
That I can't answer, but I can't see what difference that makes. There is nothing in the immigration act stating that this is not within their requirements. I am myself going the same route, changing from money in bank to income method next year. That is why I wanted this clarified, and went to the horse's mouth to know what is accepted or not. There are too many conflicting messages around, yours as well. I got my own confirmation first from the manager at the main BBL branch in Pattaya, and then from the immigration officer when I just did my 90 day report. Both said the same thing. A pension is only one of several income sources they accept. So the text at their own website, is spot on and correct.
-
Should immigration know where your money originates as income?
Yes, I am aware. One of my best friends did a combination of rental income and dividends, which added up to 68k baht. Transferred regular deposits to BBL, and got his 12 months transfers approved both from bank and immigration this year. There is nothing in the immigration act saying all have to come from a pension, or only one source. The bank knows that, and immigration as well.
-
Should immigration know where your money originates as income?
Agree, they might ask for the source, but that doesn't mean it has to be from a pension, as you state yourself in this answer. Several sources are accepted. Then we fully agree.
-
Should immigration know where your money originates as income?
This is absolutely not true. The income can be from several sources, dividends, interest etc. Go ask the manager in a bank. After conflicting information from expats, I just did at BBL in Pattaya to be 100% sure. Just cover the 12 months transfers from abroad I was told, and that's it. Could even be a rental income from abroad. Immigration officers at Jomtien say the same thing. Asked and answered. This was a week ago. Btw, visa agents also say the same thing. If asked what the source is, just tell them. Won't change anything, they just want to see it's not from a scam or such.

Overstay from 2000 – Ban Expired? Visa Conversion Help
After 25 years the OP is guaranteed to re-enter either way anyone spins this. He has no criminal record. There is no current ban, nor was it ever one in his case, if all he did was overstaying. So I stand with what I said, it's a waste of money. But for his own peace of mind, of course, that is his choice if he wants to spend that amount of money. But suggesting that he should, sounds like scaremongering to me. If, against absolutely all odds, he wouldn't be allowed to re-enter, then he can use one. There must be tens of thousands of us, been there, done that. I have never read of a single one getting a ban from early 2000s for overstay alone. Deported after a stay at IDC, yes, but not a ban. And certainly not anyone being denied entry more than 2 decades later. Won't happen 😉

Overstay from 2000 – Ban Expired? Visa Conversion Help
Correct. I'm pretty sure he wasn't banned. His passport would have had a clear message of how many years the ban was for. He doesn't even remember if he got one.. No one got banned for overstay alone back in 2000. I even remembered a guy with 11 years of overstay, re-entering a week later. He has nothing to worry about. Using a safe entry agent is a waste of money, but of course, up to him if that makes him sleep better.

Overstay from 2000 – Ban Expired? Visa Conversion Help
Safe entry check is a waste of money imo. I've had two times overstay, one with a ban. Around 2008 I re-entered two days later (a year overstay, no ban). Second, with a one year ban in 2017, I re-entered a year later. Both was never an issue, not one question asked. You've been gone more that 20 years, you have nothing to worry about, I'm 100% sure. And btw, you weren't banned in 2000. Unless you had another more serious court case.

Overstay from 2000 – Ban Expired? Visa Conversion Help
Definitely not true. I overstayed and even got banned 1 year, before I came back and got my retirement visa. No issues or questions asked at all. What you refer to is if you are on a current overstay.
