I’ve rode big bikes & scooters in Thailand over the last 20 years and never had a problem , it’s like everything just be alert & have extra caution , I’m riding motorcycles for the last 35 years , this man was very unlucky , no one here knows the circumstances, not all foreign bike riders in Thailand are idiots , it’s some of the Thai drivers I’m more scared about the idiotic behaviour they show on the roads , I got a mini bus from hua hin  to Bangkok around  15 years ago & that was my last time ever in a minibus in Thailand , after that I said never again , I will gladly pay more to go in a taxi , this fool drove that minibus like  a rally car , it was pure crazy dodging in and out of traffic at high speed , people in the bus were scared to death & in shock , anyway I’ve seen a lot less needy cases setting up gofund me , clearly this man is paralysed for  life , I’m sure he will need all the help he can get for the future to help him adapt as best he can !! Have a little empathy guys to this man’s tragic situation 

Poor guy , hope he gets looked after well , very tragic thing to happen

Tragic way to go , it’s a pity he was not hospitalised before the flight , might have saved his life , spitting blood before the  flight took off he should not have been allowed to fly at that  time , horrific ordeal for his wife also , RIP 

Hope the young man  gets the care he needs, helmet laws  in Thailand in general are not  strict enough ,  the helmets that bike rentals provide are usually just hard plastic cheap ones ,they are better than nothing but not near good enough

Seen a foreigner begging in Ao nang krabi just last week too , there was a Romanian guy once in Dublin who begged in his bare feet on grafton street -people bought him new shoes all the time , he was stopped at Dublin airport returning to Romania & when searched  customs found over 10,000 euros in his pocket & then the Revenue searched where he was living in Dublin & here they find over 50 pairs of brand new shoes in boxes never worn & he had  a big house built in Romania ,Roma gypseys are the kings of begging, teams of them are at it every day around every town in Ireland taking advantage of our good nature 

What a crowd of idiots , damn couldn’t make this up , free stay in the Bangkok Hilton for a few years I’d say 

Damn learn something new every day , I didn’t realise people were still visiting Russia , wtf would you want to go there especially atm 

It’s a pity putin wouldn’t do the world a favour & jump out a window also 

Damn & they call us Irish heavy drinkers , the new title  should go to Thailand 😀🇹🇭

Nothing as bad as being in a taxi with no ac on , I’ve seen it several times where the taxi driver thinks it ok to leave the car at 30 plus degrees while I’m in the back seat baking away , I always ask politely to make it cooler 99 % of the time the  driver is happy enough to cooperate, I rem once years ago where a taxi driver would not turn on the meter after leaving the airport in bangkok even though we got it from an official taxi rank there 

Of course he is living in 5 star treatment there , money talks 

What a clown , does he not realise u can’t get away with s**t like that in Thailand or anywhere else either , Christmas holidays in a  stinking Thai  cell will straighten him up alright 

Pity he just didn’t do away with himself & let the woman Live  her life 

Wonder will this include a new fee on departure , remember having to do that years ago 

Why can’t the author just say he set off from the resort city of Pattaya without saying  “Notorious “ -  dramatisation at its best

€ 2,700 a day is ridiculous for a hospital , I hope this man gets better soon  ,insurance or no insurance he should be looked after in a public hospital the same  , ambulance bringing him to a private hospital  was wrong , they seen him as a cash cow , some Thais think every farang (a word I hate by the way) is a millionaire , some  forget we actually work for a living
