  1. Doi Thong, if you speak Russian fluently, I am a duck - egg. ::

    Mnye, Loobyu, Pol!

If you can translate that now, I believe you.

:D Made my statement about the ducks. And my favorite dog. Russian aint easy to speak it. I am Bulgarian - hate someone to identify me whit other Slavics. Remember - the computer you stay in front of - John Athanasoff. Yoghurt? We didn't invented the beer but it's better than Singha /do not speak about the Bud!!/... Chang isn't so bad :o

  2. Cheers

Thank you but make it a Ginseng tonic as I don't drink anymore ( 4 years!)

The Vietnamese people were never my enemy and so I respect them as a people and how they treat me.

I do not respect their government however. Nor my own. Nor anyone elses.

    Rgrds

    Mr Vietnam :o

Hmm... Curves are allowed :D I meant - a beer is not a sin :D Respect the enemies - of course - the people also. About the governments - I'm agree /one more reason the beer to be on me!/ they always aint right. I loved your experience with Thais - taxi and tuck-tuck drivers always aint right :D Huh -don't tell me that you even don't smoke /cigarettes/

  3. I was ( and am when I'm back) as deep in the Viet community as you can go. I have NEVER had a moments worry in Vnam even when I was hussling on the pool tables ( the reverse hussle). NEVER.

The thai's were sometimes extremely " in your face" whereas the Viets were the opposite and certainly we could debate who would come out a winner in a thai-viet confrontation with my bets that the thais would cut tail and run.

You're extremely right! :D But may be that's the charm of Thais.... I'm absolutely sure - you're really vet in Nam.... Simply - you respect the enemy... :o

    Beer on me...

    Cheers

  4. I know this doesn't make it better, but I have to say, that I have never ever felt in the slightest bit "threatened" in Thailand, by any Thai person.

I can say the same with my modest /about 4 months/ Thai experience. Moreover - I have such Thai friends and met such people that I have been never met in other countries. But I am absolutely agree that the criminality in Thailand is really too high and that is not reported not only in the news - even the police do not get complains /hmm.. what about the police corruption? couple officers stopped me - "police check, your passport please!" - I didn't bring it with me - "let's go to police station - police check - 1000 Baht" - I told them - "OK" - after 5 min thinking - "OK Sir - if you have 500 we will not go to the police" - "Guys, don't have such money in my wallet - lets go to the police..." - another 5 min thinking - "OK, Sir - have a nice day and next time go out with your passport". The couple wore the usual braun uniforms with all necessary badges/. But all the criminality, in my oppinion, is among the Thais and with very few exception - it is against farangs.

I have /of course :o ) a Thai girlfriend - her parents had sold her to a guy to be his wife in age 13. She didn't want him - he raped her repeatedly. 7 years she has been in slavery. At the end of the slavery his husband decided that usual homework isn't enough for her and forced her to start finding farangs with money... Thank's God - she found a German guy and after 2 years long divorce /infront Buddha, all authorities etc/ she got free. The German left her - but that's other story - soap opera. The Thai men attitude to the women is, to put it mildly, as they are livestock... How do you thing - how many raped Thai women have been reported in the police if they had been abused by Thai man? What about the drug gangs shootings? I've been always wondering - dead penalty for drugs /btw - I am absolutely agree!/ - but you can find drugs more easy than in other parts of the World... It's stupid and strange - you can live in Thailand as farang being and you couldnt't meet criminality - at the same time when Thais rape, kill and mug themselves....

  5. But what is the attitude of this board - are you condemning them because the are not Euro-US descended, supporting them as the type of tourist Toxin wants to get rid of, or praising them because at least they are - to a man - anti-muslim?

:o Guys, this forum really seems to be some kind of Anglo-Saxon /excluding a few Thai members/. However - I am not Russian or Serb. I was interested because Russians are really too much - they do not have any problem to buy property, to start business etc. Me - I had problems starting busienss in Thailand and I was wondering is it because I am not British/American - at least - even not Russian. I have been visiting and live in a lot of countries, I had company in South Africa, but such atitude with me is for the first time.

However. Some people posted here almost rasist statements and I will remark few tings:

    1. Both Russians and Serbs /I mean - most of them!/ who visit Thailand have money to buy and sell all this forum.

    2. They /Russians+Serbs/ behave themselfs really arrogantly.

    3. Have you ever seen Slavic people taking home 12-13 years old girl or boy? On my observations that is mostly Anglo-Saxon patent /or EC patent?/.

    4. What about the strange Englsih speaking faces after midnight on Soi Cowboy or around Nana Hotel?

    5. In this forum I read also a lot of stuff about Thais - they always want to get all the farang money, they are ignorant, insolent /do not make me to quote!/. I want to live in Thailand - it is not my home country and I do not think that my oppinion about Thais and Thailand is so important. I could save it and I could not judge them. It seems that some people here like only and mostly themselves...

However - isn't that fun - I am 1,86 tall, speak almost like Russian and look as Arabian! May be that's making me all the problems... :D

  6. I have a lot of experience with Russians. For the first time I been in Thailand with one of my associates one evening we were looking for a good disco. We talked with a Bristish guy and he adviced us to visit some place on Sukhumvit - "The best place for go-go and naughty Russian strippers..." We were amazed - if the Thailand is also having Russian invasion? It turned out that in Bangkok and Pataya are a lot of russian girls and a lot of russian guys with thick necks, tattoos and heavily neck-chained.

  7. The word 'nigger' can be both highly offensive or friendly depending on ones familiarity with the person.

Believe me - I`ve been In 4-5 African countries - do not use word "nigger". Especially from the mouth of a white jerk "nigger" sounds like "come and kill me".

"Black" can be also offensive. But when a black man call other one "nigger" - that's sence of humor::o))

  8. I'm Thai, I speak Thai. Trust me, the term 'farang' is not meant to be used as something bad. Like someone says, farang is kinda like someone who's not Thai. Someone who is white.

I know, with my poor experience in Thailand, that "farang" is in use only for WHITE foerigners. And I really didnt heart someone ta call Afro-americans farangs...
