Wirachai had interests in distributing hardboard and wood chips before he set up ACE in 2008. I was a mid-ranking Civil-Servant, and I was (usually) working 70h a week. -- Wirachai is an *exceptional* man who rose to the level of Deputy Commander of The RTP, at the same time as being involved in 2 Companies.

A similar approach is indeed taken in the USA --- See https://www.aamc.org/news-insights/how-are-covid-19-deaths-counted-it-s-complicated "For those who die — from a heart attack, for instance — the role of COVID-19 might never be determined unless there’s a reason to run a post-mortem test for the disease, Raja explains. As for those killed by traumas such as accidents and assaults, a test wouldn’t matter. “Whether or not you have COVID isn’t going to change your cause of death when you get hit by a car,” he says."

March 2017 "The Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) announced today that Motorists caught driving when drunk will soon find they are not covered by insurance firms in cases of accidents. With the revised rule, a BAC result of more than 50mg per cent means drink driving, and the driver will not be covered for accidents, he said." https://www.chiangraitimes.com/news-asia-thailand/drunk-drivers-in-thailand-now-face-insurance-ban/

Proposal to legalise porn in Thailand suffers setback
andersonat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I presume that a Rule-Book has been written on "Thai Parliamentary-Ethics". And I presume that Mr Sonthiya is a Lawyer. -- If he is, then I would have expected that he would *know* whether or not an MP's support for the Proposal is in breach of Parliamentary-Ethics. -

In the "Vorayuth Yoovidhya / Red Bull Case", Suwes Hom-ubon, 45, who looks after the Yoovidhya Family's vehicles, had claimed soon after the incident that *he* was the driver of the Ferrari. -- I'm afraid that you confusing "a confession" with "proof". -
Bangkok spared from Chao Phraya River flooding – Royal Irrigation Dept.

Who would've thought that the Thai Government would've made such strenuous preparations/efforts to ensure that the Centre of Bangkok would not be flooded ? -
Thai finance minister still eyeing GDP growth of 1.3% this year
andersonat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Do the Finance Ministry and the Bank of Thailand get their economic-projection-data from different sources/algorithms ? Do they look at/interpret the data differently ? - If this is indeed the case, it sounds a little inefficient/confusing to have 2 closely related Economics-Teams producing 2 different analyses. -
K - I just had a (quick) look on the Internet, and I saw a website for a Thai Insurance Co. quoting prices for CTPL ---- (1) up to 75cc [Bt161], (2) 75-125cc [Bt323], (3) 125cc-150cc [Bt430], (4) >150cc [Bt645]. -- *If* the Thai Government introduces a Big-Bike Licence, they may well also decide to change (4) to 150-400cc, and introduce a new level (5) >400cc. And when you pay the Annual Road-Tax for the Big-Bike ... it might be impossible to avoid paying the extra pennies for the new higher-rate (whatever it might be).
-
I would guess ( - and I *am* guessing) that if you were involved in an accident/event in Thailand on your Big-Bike, and if you didn't (already) have a Thai Big-Bike Licence, that your Bike-Insurance Co. might decide that you invalidated the Terms of your Insurance-Policy. (Or maybe the Insurance Co. would ask to see your Big-Bike Licence every time that you renew your Insurance-Policy.)

Huge lynching mob attack murderer of woman during reenactment
andersonat replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand
A note on The General asking The Royal Thai Police to end the "Perp-Press-Conferences" ( - and so *not* the reenactments) -----> * In September 2016 ... " ... General Prayuth Chan-ocha sent a letter to the Ministry of Justice telling Police to consider ending the commonplace practice of parading Suspects in front of Reporters out of concern for human rights; Police said the show will go on – with some modifications." https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/crime-crime/2016/09/06/perp-pressers-continue-despite-concern-human-rights/ "Police defend the practice as something that gives Suspects the right to ask for clemency, and to show Society how Criminals operate." -

--- And now that The Suspect is in custody, I ***really*** want to see the on-site reenactment, giving a complete presentation/portrayal of the details surrounding the death of Jeerapong Thanapat ... "to expedite the justice process" ( - and the Public's perception of the Thai Justice Process). -

andersonat replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand
"Expediting the justice process" ? -- I doubt whether Police Maj-Gen Mana Inphithak, Region 2 Deputy-Chief and Head of The Rayong Provincial Police Dept. of The Royal Thai Police could convincingly argue that to anyone. --- They are a dog-and-pony show for self-publicization and grandstanding, and I wish that the Thai-Media would ignore them - ... or that the international-Media would publish the details of these RTP-Farces. Q: Has there ever been a reenactment "to expedite the justice process" in the case of the death of Police Sgt. Major Wichien Klanprasert ?- 119 replies

CSD extends detention of torture case cops as investigations continue

There's *no* way that Police Colonel Thitisan Utthanaphon of The Royal Thai Police decided to return from Myanmar without an agreed deal being in place -- Otherwise *why* would he ? -
I have 2 British friends, who live in Birmingham (England). They are 60y old, well-off, fully-vaccinated and retired ( = they have time on their hands, and so they're not worried about [self-]quarantining, if that were necessary after a trip). They are *really* well-travelled internationally, and they are open to the idea of travelling internationally again "sometime". There were considering their Autumn 2021 holiday-travel plans, and they thought that they were ***really*** "pushing-the-boat-out" by booking a 1-week holiday to London (England). No - they're not thinking of travelling abroad/to South-East Asia/to Thailand for a holiday at-this-time/this year; and I would think that *very* few are.

I understand that there's only a limited amount of space in a news-article/media-announcement, but I'd *really* like to learn/know how (for example) TAT forms/comes up with their predictions for tourist-numbers. -- Does it come from polling potential Tourists in foreign-countries, does it come from questioning Tourists who are actually in Thailand, does it come from analysing flight/travel-trends from Airlines/Hotel-Booking-Companies ? ---- Do the Thai Government or the Research-Organisations ever actually publish the details upon which their calculations/predictions are based ?

Some information re. "The Seventh Dose":- The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday said that health officials may be able to obtain as many as seven doses of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine from vials initially intended to hold just five. https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/530596-fda-says-pfizer-vaccine-supply-is-up-to-40-percent-higher-than-previously
