No. Permanent residents are still required to register for Thailand Pass and with appropriate insurance.
thanks for the reply

I believe Thai Nationals are no longer required to apply for Thailand pass to re-enter Thailand. Are ex pats with Permanent Residency status also allowed to re-enter Thailand without having to apply for a Thailand pass?

Can’t find any info either here or in U.K. as to when the vaccine likely to be approved in U.K. or why it is taking so long to approve.

Anutin is not fit for purpose. But then are any of the so called members of the government. They are pond life. I'm alright Jack, got my AZ imported vaccine. Let the rest of the people eat cake. I'm off to my big mansion to enjoy the good life!

Sooner or later they will realize that Thais or chinese will never replace the big foreign spenders .
They will put in place a few more restrictions , and then they will open up to farangs again , Virus or not .
Because it is money what they want .
of course its money they want due to loss of income. Same everywhere. You don't have to be blessed with a bunch of brain cells to understand that.

Good. I have personal experience of immigration demanding similar bribes to extend visas of foreign workers under our employ.
never understood this transferring system. Why don't they just sack them.

So much negative and critical bs from moronic people on thai visa I wonder why they ever came here in the first place. Surely better here than in Europe or USA.

I question if all COVID-19 cases are reported. I see plenty of village folks in the rural areas not practicing “social distancing”. Oh, I forgot, it is only “farangs “ that spread the virus.????
Same old gramophone record pal. Give it a break or think up something original. yawn. !

Do ex pats who have been granted permanent residency have to submit TM30 forms.

So now have spoken to Immigration and PR holders don't need to renew their multiple entry visa if they don't intend to go overseas if current multiple entry visa has or about to expire. For example my multiple entry visa expired in November and I will renew it in 3 months time just before I go overseas in March. No point in renewing if not going overseas. Nothing has changed. Hope this clarifies everything. Just remember not to let your alien book expire.

What do you mean by endorsement. In the past as a permanent resident I only renew by multiple entry visa as and when necessary. Where on the immigration site does it say about this new rule.

Many items manufactured in China. Am I correct in thinking that China has a free trade agreement with Thailand so transport costs should be cheaper than to Europe so you would expect prices to be cheaper?Timberland shoes for example in Emporium are about 40% higher than UK. Maybe that's why there never seems to be anybody in Emporium..

A friend got one a few years ago. You have to pay bribes along the whole process. I think it was about 400k.
Complete non sense. Maybe some have to, but others don't.
Rubbish. My application was approved and not the hint of a bribe or tea money was required or even suggested.

An impossible height to jump to. 100 people per nationality. They really don't want us here.
Why do you say that. Has the 100 quota ever been reached? As far as I know not for UK and my guess not for many other countries.

Any way let us know the outcome when you present it at immigration

I had no problem with Thanachart and they gave me a very competitive interest rate. The guy came to see me with the forms and it was done and dusted in less than 1 hour. Loan was for three years and it finished last year. Happy to use them again.

What a fickle place. There's just no consistency.
That's why living in Thailand is so exciting. Every day different, every day a new surprise. Wonderful! I love it!

Is there any where in Bangkok that can restore an old wrist watch. A new face and replacement second hand etc.

Takes 30 minutes at Laos Embassy. Think it's 1600 baht

Ten out of ten to the original poster knowing the difference between principal and principle and getting the spelling correct. Amazing Thailand!
Anything else in his post worthy of mentioning?

Self opinionated Americans once again thinking they know everything there is to know about everything. They should confine their comments to there own domestic situation.
NO, they came to listen to the people involved , in order to learn about the situation... I would say , you think to know everything there is to know about everything...
Listening is fine agreed but they opened their big loud American mouths as usual.
Thawing UK Frozen Pensions

I was advised that if you spent a full 6 months in the UK during the tax year which starts in April when you return to Thailand your pension remains at the new increased rate. Less than 6 months your pension returns to the rate before the increase. Is that correct?
