  1. LondonGuy-Hmmm might be worth a visit- Inet Cafe? Maybe snag a few BG email accounts - I'm quite sure one can get unlimited entertainment value out of them. :o

well they all have to have the same password so the girl in the cafe can remember it..... its not actually a word more a series of numbers... :D

  2. My thought is that for a small investment, I can keep her happy, give me some time to make a decision. Seems like a win win situation.

Go for it remember the golden rule that is always quoted on here "Never invest more in Thailand than you can afford to loose"

So as long as you keep the cash to a resonable amount you have nothing to loose only a bit of cash which Im sure will not bankrupt you. :o

This is the golden rule. I have a "variance":

"Whatever you invest in Thailand will be lost for you, so make sure you know what you are doing,..." :D

Oh yes too true, but lets not forget where females are concerned thats the same all over the world...... :D

  3. the two I have access to have both gone home to see families for hoilday.....

Two only? No access to the others,... I'm impressed. Faithful is the word, isn't it? :o:D

well I only have the passwords for two.... although i have discoverd that most of the girls that use the internet cafe next to Nana hotel use the same password...... and I couldnt possibly tell you what that is..... but reckon you could work it out ....:D

  4. After a few months of haggling with "The Thai family" I (or should I say the G/F haggeling with her family) is getting a house built for 300,000 baht........ when It was first suggested to me it was going to be about 1,000,000 but that was going to be one of the large concrete houses with three bedrooms. We are now having a 2 bedroom house made in thai style out of wood etc. I have seen the plans and they look pretty impressive.

The girlfriends uncle is supervising the build with local cheap labour. i realise I will never actually own the place, and Im not really botherd at least everyone is happy. :o

  6. hi every one

could anyone give me an approx idea of the cost of living in khon kaen for 1 thai female adult and 3 year old child, presuming that they rent a small 2 bed apartment in a reasonable area. i know this is a bit diffecult but i have no clue as to cost of living in this part of thailand.

the reason is that my girlfriend is moving back to her family area and i need to know for myself wat to expect to send over, without going over the top as i am not rolling in it,

but do want to provide at least a reasanable level for them and still leave enough money so that i can actually afford to visit.

she will be working but i have been advised that wages tend to be about 5 - 6 thousand baht per month (shop or restuarent work) at most

    any information would be apprecieted

    thank you

    allan

    :D

Hi Im in the same position my girlfriend and family are just about to re-locate from Hua-Hin to outside Khon Khen. I found everything cheaper there when we visited in january. Even my G/F was amazed at the cheap food prices. Its about half price for veg and meat even the supermarkets are about 25% chaeper than Hua Hin. :o

I give her about 20,000 baht a month at the moment this supports her and the rest of the family (Ma.Pa, 2 brothers, and a dog) all live well on it and they pay house rent of 2,000 + utilities.

So I reckon I can knock it down to 15,000 a month.....however the G/F is horrified at this suggestion.... she would rather I send the normal amount and then she saves the surplus..... :D

I realise a lot of guys on here will think that is still a lot but I want them to have a high standard and not loose face. I also reckon it will be hard for the family to find jobs back at home as they are about 20K outside the city.

  7. Also Intenational Law prevents the child from leaving nation of birth, unless both parents are in agrement.

Are you sure of this? I don't remember any such issue when our daughter went to Thailand with her mother last summer.

Agree on that, from the UK only way to stop one parent absconding with a child is a court injunction. Also that does not always work.

From the fathers point of view if it is possible to get a passport from the U.S. Embassy get one. Then next time take the child to airport book seats anywhere out of thailand where you dont need a visa and you wont have a problem.

Not perhaps the best advice to save your marriage but might help.

  8. i also had steak in hua hin last week, both were thai beef and both were superb, no sauce though just medium rare.

    with english mustard

pray tell me where did you get decent steak in Hua Hin I want to try it.

  9. Ok how can anyone be in BKK for 8 months and not know what a bar fine is?

Also can you please tell me where the guy paid 1,000 baht!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cause I dont want to go there buy a beer, buy her a beer, negotiate the price for longtime and find thats the fine ( yes Im a true romantic I know!) :o

  10. there is a good gym just south of the town on the highway at a hotel also has a pool you can use for 40 baht a day (for non-residents) Its past the weekend night market on the way to monkey mountain. cant remember the name of it too much beer..... :o

  11. I dont think the guys who come to Thailand expect free sex. I certainly dont, but then again it isnt exactly free anywhere. Even if a guy goes on a date in London he still has to pay for meal and drinks before getting laid. So whats the difference in shagging in Thailand.....the cost.....its a lot cheaper in Thailand. :o

I also cant belive some of the posts by the guys who complain about lying bar girls etc Everyone must know it happens, I guess its just humane nature that you think it happens to everyone else but not you, and you have found true love...well till the next custumer comes along! :D
