  1. This e-mail was sent "cc" to me now I know that the girl who wrote it can hardly speak english let alone type it....so the girl in the internet cafe must send a few of these out....

" Hello xxxx how are you I miss you so much, I working every day my dughter sick but canot go home as no money you help miss you very very much you special man lots of love axxxxxxxxxxxxx" :o

  2. Just received this one tonight, they make you laugh these girls...

How are you doing there? I am sad for what happning between you and me. I got drunk on my birthday, I always cry when I get drunk, I didn't know who called me, I were unware. So I said the wrong name, sorry if I made you upset. When you come back, you will know that I like you. Someone can give me more than you, but I said I will wait for you. Every ladies is same men that is she wants to have only one man. About Marjin, (should be martin another brit) I don't have anything special with him. I told him that if I have boyfriend, I will let him know. And that me then I cannot go around with him anymore. He is my friend, really...he is not my customer...

Well, how is your work, are you tired from working? Please take good care, Please know that I am waiting for you here.

    Miss you xxx

    Nice eh? :o

  3. :o Ok so as you guess I am based in UK at the moment but travel (3 times a year) to Thailand to see "my thai". I am hopefully about to go and work in the Middle East and will for tax purposes not be coming back to the UK for over a year. So can I as a non-resident open a Bank Account in Thailand? I can then get some of my salary paid to that bank and have a ATM card that will work in the Middle East.

For obvious reasons I want the bank account in my name not in "my thai" name. :D

Im sure this topic has been covered before but I have done a search and couldnt get the answer I wanted.

  4. we all know that location matters, but so does the way the bar is run. Some people dont seem to have the right attitude to make it in Thailand. If you come to England you see just as many badly run pubs.. it seems to be the same thing "lets get a bar and make money" if you cant run a business then you cant run a bar.

With regards to running a restaurant in Hua Hin, I think you would struggle the majority of places are run by locals at very competitive prices. A new one (Sorry cant remember name) recently opened opposite the "All Nations" excellent food and good prices, I spoke to the owner who was only just covering his overheads and that was in high season - god help him in low season.

A lot of the european tourists in Hua Hin seem to stay in the large resort type hotels outside the town then come into town just to shop and occasionaly drink.

  5. what's worse is some don't send any of the emails, even from the start. it could be a friend that juggles 10 to 20 farangs a day for her.

When I was last over my G/F took me to the internet cafe and proptly replied to e-mails from three different accounts on behalf of three different girls. All the mails were the same just sent to different guys eg. how are you? :D missing you? :D when you come back? you let me know when I meet you? Needless to say I now have the e-mail account details including passwords and often while away the dull winter nights reading the mails.... Yes I know thats bad, but is it any worse than these girls conning the falangs? :o

  6. I think like you say there is a difference between Hua Hin and say Phuket or Bangkok etc. For one thing the police are a lot more laid back in Hua hin and being a small town everyone knows everyone else. Also in the Soi Bitabar the freeholds of 80% of the bars are owned by two sisters which makes a big difference.

  7. law of physics - take the least path of resistance -

suggest you during the next call break down and start crying - tell her that your mother father brother cat dog mouse sister neighbour prime minister were injured in a bus accident and that they are not insured

you as the only wage earner need to now support the entire UK on your meager salary

Thais have no problems in asking for money - and giving all these BS stories - so learn from them - tell them the same nonsense

of course she loves you - of course she will wait for you

    :D

thais say he has good heart - in english this really translates to sucker

:D fantastic reply but I have already broken down told her she will bankrupt me and all my family and everybody else I know but it wont stop her. Just had the daily telephone call now is dying with flu....... but needs 5,000 baht for medicine... and I thought I could bullshit :o

  8. Continuing the theme "how does your relationship go with Thai GF Go? " I have now been back in London for 6 weeks and it aint going too well. I have known my girl for a couple of years but only really started getting serious during the last trip. We did all the usual things dinner with Mama & Papa and went out for the day with the family etc. It all seemed to be going well.

However :o since my return there seems to have been one crisis after another. Of course its always money that is needed (but not a lot by UK standards) and I understand that Thais have a different cultural outlook on life, where the family comes first etc etc. She has even started ringing me up on a daily basis, whilst its great to be wanted am I doing the right thing here? Is this always the way or am I just being conned? and no before you ask she does not work in a bar. Should I let her down gently or try and ride out the problems until I go back in a couple of months? :D

  9. :D Hi anyone know of any good bars in Khon Khen, will be visiting in the next couple of months and want to get a feel of where to go at night. I have visited the town on a few occasions but have not as yet had a night out on the town. My Thia lives about 10 clicks out of town so I guess i will have one of the relatives with us to help us home. :o
  10. A lawyer acting for you ( not the family ) should be instructed to act in the matter. A letter from the lawyer setting out exactly what he is doing should always be retained on file by you. Then your butt is covered.

Ok so how do I find out if the Lawyer is related?

The final decision has just about been made Mama & Papa are going to build a small house for about 15,000 Baht, (which I will finance) and if it goes pear shaped I can afford to loose that money, :o but being positive it wont! We will have accomodation including I have been told a farang toilet.

I have taken on suggestions made in this thread and we will most probably stay with In-laws (on and off) for a couple of years before deciding where to buy land and what to build.

Hopefully we will marry in August and get stuff sorted, thanks everyone for the advice very much appreciated, keep it coming.

  11. :o When you are out and about enjoying the night life (the soi) with the girls bars, if you want a late night drink drop into Yings its about the second bar up from the bottom (opposite the hotel) she will never throw you out as long as you keep buying. I left at 07.30 some mornings in january tell her Phil sends regards to his thai mother!
  12. :D Ok so dont you just love these girls. My reply was No its too bloody expensive, she agreed but did not want to loose face with the rest of the family by agreeing with me. However Suprise, Suprise as soon as it was obvious that I was not going to put my hand in my pocket they remembered they had some land that belongs to Papa where we can build a house at no cost. What a nice family are they all like this?????? (sarcastic) :o
  13. Sorry fogot to add Hotels ---- there are loads in the town if you want something near the beach & and the nightlife there are loads of guest Houses on the sea front just turn up dont bother booking, the town is not busy (at the moment) some of them are on the old squid piers Koran hut is where I have stayed 500 baht for aircon + double bed + ensuite. Also if you are going for the nightlife (there is no restrictions on guests!)

Im sure I dont need to tell you some of the guesthouses are not so good so check the facilities before getting the room.

  14. You can get a bus fom outside the domestic Air terminal (about 200 meters from the international terminal) to the Southern bus terminal ( Go inside the terminal and you can get on the bus first rather than wait at the bus stop.) You can get a blue and white bus from there for 99 baht (seats recline a bit) it stops a lot, takes about 2 hours 30 minutes but is ok and you certainly get to see a bit of thailand on the way. the last time I caught it (January) Street vendors even came on board selling snacks. :o

  15. :D Well thanks for the replies folks its certainly set me thinking....... am I doing the right thing? I dont know it certainly seems expensive, can you really buy land for 20,000 baht a Rai?

I have been offered cheaper land (but not 20,000 a Rai) the plot is in a very good position and dopes have electric and water. The roads are also paved, in fact there are three other Farang males & thier Thai wives living in the village. So it must have something going for it.

I shall think & think, once again everyone thanks for the adviC :o:D e

  16. Ok so my girl friend & myself have decided we buy some land. Although her and her parents live in the South the family originates from near Khon Khen, the last time I was over there (January 04) we took a trip to the village and met nearly all the relatives including grandma :o and 15 Aunts & Uncles and about 30 cousins.

We eventually found a good piece of land on the edge of the village (old rice fields) and the owner wants 2,000 Baht a square meter! well I reckon we need at least 125 Square meters so its a bit of cash.

Is this the normal price or the farang price? Yes the lands in a good spot and has electric supply etc but is this a reasonable price.

  17. watch footballers wives before you leave England.....

apparantly two lady-boys have been recrutied from Nana Plaza to appear in a forthcoming episode.

I met a guy from Birmingham in a bar in Hua-Hin last month who stated he had had one of them for a couple of days in the Nana hotel a few of years ago ans "she" was brilliant! He has the photos to prove it! Apparently they are now both back working in Nana... :o
