  1. If I read another story about a misbehaving Aussie I'm gonna puke.

Australian driver fined for drunken sex act

Sydney - Australia's far-north burnished its reputation for outrageous behaviour Friday when a Darwin court fined Brad Milne for driving while having sex with his girlfriend.

The 33-year-old builder was also convicted of drink driving and not wearing a seatbelt.

A fellow motorist witnessed erratic driving and called police after Milne drew level with him at a traffic light, and he observed the amorous behavior.//DPA

    End of the article

    O.K. then, is it a :D

    Or maybe a :)

  2. Seems to be that of late, the bar is being lowered and with it bringing T.Visa into areas never before allowed without censorship ect.

The EKJ thread being a great example of what becomes of the possible unintentional non editing of certain posts by suspect trolls

Also threads of a possible bar girl type nature or those which would naturally be seen as encouraging adverse and controversial troll type comments.

Thai Visa is a respected forum and deserves better, so come on members, do your bit and at the very least do not be sucked into this sort of activity.

Respectfully posted as is my right as a member and in no way a personal attack, just a fair and general observation.

  3. Lets keep all Thaksin related criminal charges here:

Arrest Warrants Issued For 14 Red Shirt Leaders And Thaksin

    ///CLOSED///

    ===================================================================

what has this rubber sapling case to do with the arrest warrants for traffic law violation and illegal assembly of more than 10 people at songkran?

    HT

If i may be allowed to quote the part quote above from Sriracha John post 690 in relation to the subject matter of other issues and in particular the EKJ thread.

May i suggest you PM Admin ( SBK ) and maybe put your repeated grievances to them about this thread being dedicated to the reds at songkran ect.

If i may respectfully and humbly suggest, perhaps admin could modify the threads title to accommodate all related criminal charges on Thaksin.

On the other hand the EKJ,S have nothing what so ever to do with the " reds " and is a totally seperate topic.

An honest observation and in no way questioning the proven abilities of SBK, of many times over.

It is about the Ex PM of the Ex TRT and in my honest and humble opinion, still deserves the dedicated thread that has been debating the very important issues connected to it for some time now and is indeed still ongoing

May i respectfully ask if there is any chance that i can submit a request that it may be reopened for further ongoing debate.

Looking at the T visa news thread, there are so many less worthy items that have and are still ongoing and are cluttering lots of space up.

If it is considered not news worthy for what ever reasons, could it be reopened and moved to another suitable forum please.

Well over 2,000 posts surely show it is a worthwhile thread, with still lots more mileage in it.

Sadly there have been several posts in recent times that have possibly had an influence on the closing of it, the posters need a good kick where the sun doesn,t shine for choosing to undermine the subject matter of the thread.

Respectfully offered and not criticizing SBK or moderational issues

  4. Once these "tricks" become common knowledge then the rules and regulations will be tightened or made more onerous and the same people who were playing the tricks will bitch about Thai Immigrations constantly changing the rules.

Will they ever learn Kaojai........... seems not and then these same individuals not only bugger it up for themseleves, but everyone else who simply do and provide what is required by the LOCAL imm. office.

    SM

Just to clarify my post, the broad red highlight is originally quoted by Kaojai and i simply did this to show and acknowledge my total agreement with it, but forgot to edited the rest of the quote out as per Thai Visa Forum rules.

If any poster has been mislead in any way by it, i apologise for any unintentional misunderstandings.

    Thank you

  5. What's the service quality and availability in Vientiane?

    Thanks for the input.

The Laos go to Thailand for medical help if they can afford it. .... Is that comment enough?

Their number one choice being AEK Udon.

I,m not certain but i think they have special arrangements on cover and costs for it with this particular hospital.

If you are ugently in need of serious medical care and are able to make it, the nearest hospital being in Nong Khai of course, distance wise.

  6. Visa runs, visa run fraud, ed-visa for grandfathers, not verified income statements, better not go to the utmost cause rules will change again, from bad to worse, even for people who behave properly.

Yes it sounds like people are openly advocating lying to the embassies about your income or getting around the bank balance requirement by taking out loans and other methods to circumvent the law or at least the intention of current regulations.

As an example, the reason the "three month bank balance" rule became policy is because too many people were shifting the same money from account to account just before they applied for an extension of stay.

Once these "tricks" become common knowledge then the rules and regulations will be tightened or made more onerous and the same people who were playing the tricks will bitch about Thai Immigrations constantly changing the rules.

Will they ever learn Kaojai........... seems not and then these same individuals not only bugger it up for themseleves, but everyone else who simply do and provide what is required by the LOCAL imm. office.

  7. Family seeks return of 20 Million Baht

The family of a couple slain during the 2003 war on drugs is seeking the return of 20 million baht of assets that were seized from the victims. But they have ...

can we please stay On Topic.

This trhread is about the arrest warrents and carges of violating the traffic laws on songkran.

Perhaps you should have a word with admin ( SBK ) about this as they closed and moved the thread dedicated to this important issue to this one.

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Bringing-Tha...821&st=1275

    Post 1299

With respect to admin and moderational issues their judgement in the majority of cases is just and fair.

Personally without wishing to offend or criticise anyone, i think that it should have been left open as it is until such times as the EKJ,s are settled in a court of law.

It is in my humble opinion, insulting all those who have suffered especially those who were illegally murdered and their loved ones, to lump them with the red shirt issues ( of which there are many ).

You quite rightly observe while also important, they are not of the same calibre in relation to the subject matter of the present day offences of the low lifes among the infamous red army.

    Thank you

    P.S.

marshbags thread deserves a better fate, which is dedicated to awareness and with gods will final retribution for Thaksin and his partners in this sad and ongoing monstrousity of injustice.

  8. Thanks for your much appreciated imput, UB and WG,.

I was thrown a little relating to another ongoing thread that mentioned the need for a medical cert., but couldn,t see if it referred to all visa,s or just the marriage one.

I,m with the Kasikorn Bank and usually if i get there early enough i get seen to first thing.

I hope these important observations you have added are helpful to others who are viewing this thread also.

    Thanks again

    SM

    P.S.

As always i am using the one month early option, so this gives me a bit of flexibility should anything delay my renewal for whatever reason.

  9. Can anyone post the latest document requirements for the 800k one year renewal please.

I will be doing my usual run to Nong Khai where in the past i have always been treated fairly.

Last year i didn,t need a medical certificate, is it still the same please.

I appreciate there are several threads ect. but would like the latest news please.

I am due to renew on the 2cnd of June and will be getting my bank letter on the 1st, hopefully to show my qualification period is o.k. re the 3 month period.

Thank you for your understanding and assistance

  10. The most respectable and genuine Thai massage in Nongkhai can be had at the Healthy Garden.

If you are standing outside of Nobbies, head towards the Indochina market and before you enter, turn right and walk past the Thasadej Bar and about 30 metres on your right you will find the Healthy Garden. They have small curtained of areas that will ensure you are not on show.

I have been going here for 6 years now and they are the best in Nongkhai.

Foot massage 180 baht for 1 hr

Traditional thai 150 baht for 1 hr

    Guemlum

Thanks for the info. Guemlum, i went there yesterday and it was very good and spotlessly clean.

A good hours massage and only 150 baht with no extra costs ( an hour and a half )

Gave the lady 50 baht as a well deserved tip.

Yes i know, last of the big spenders :)

I intend to have the 2 hour massage next visit.

Enjoyed the tea after also by the way, but not sure what flavour it was.

    Highly recommended.

Thanks also to other posters for their input.

  11. Two possible factors are the Thai family dependancy ( not for all ) and if they have children and are separated from them for long periods of time.

I,m not sure the cold has such an effect so long as they are occupied and have sound frienships both in the community and within your own family groups.

It is exciting at first but when the novelty wears off, only then the adjusting has to take place on a serious front, Thai against other cultures.

If you are working and she is on her own for long periods of time, this can be a major factor if she is not occupied and mixing within the community.

  12. Does anyone use a decent Thai massage establishment in Nong Khai that they could recommend please.

Possibly with hotel visiting facilites or decent premises that are not shop window type places with on privacy.

Last time i visited one and felt like i was in a public viewing arena.

    Thank you

Just an after thought, i am referring to genuine Thai massage only.

I was approached on the Road that is next to the Mekong, below Nobbies old place by a Farang and his Thai lady at what appears to be their establishment and wasn,t impressed at all.

Looked like a front for additional activities of a sexual nature.............. No thank you

I noted one of the newer hotels is offering Thai massage in your room, but I do not know which establishment they come from ?????

  13. Any recommendations on a good model please that is being used please.

Possibly one that can provide a quickish booster that can be used when an unexpected flat battery occurs.

Also a fair price guide for it.

    Thank you

The brand they carry in the tool shop on pattaya Nua is Telwin.

They have nice starter/chargers that can start up to 100Ah.

I have just been looking through there catalogue (no prices unfortunately)

The model called the Leader 400 would probably suit your needs, but from my experience starter chargers are not that a cheap an item.

I was going for it's big brother the dynamic 520 at 18,500B for staring my boats, but ended up buying 10 metre jumper cables (I made out of welding cables) and jump power from boat to boat when needed.

You can pick up the regular charger in there from about 1000-1500B.

it's a good tool shop they only stock power tools and welders and stuff like.

    Thanks for the info PT

My problem is not using the Pick up often enough and it is stood for days sometimes, especially when i,m back home.

I arrange for it to be turned over and left running but it still seems to run down very quickish.

I try to do like wise every 4th day, when i remember to, that is.

I,ll seek the Leader 400 out at my local supplier when i go into town as i am not in Pattaya.

I have to buy a new battery every second year as per recommendation from the local garage and friends.

    Much appreciated information.

  16. Is this one of those all-body massages where the masseuse uses her knees, elbows, feet and uvula?

Now your talking, had the pleasure to have this type of health giving massage at Sabai land at the corner of Soi 3 and 2cnd Road Pattaya.

Was offered after time activities, but declined as i didn,t fancy her several hand goods from the period before closing time.

It was a joy to behold and boy what an experience, i can visualize it all several years down the Road.

Highly recommended for mental stress relief, fatigue and physical workouts. :)

    Thank you

  17. Bangkok Pattaya Hospital have a Beauty Clinic with excellent Plastic Surgeons, be prepared to pay though, they are not cheap. Ask for a quote and then try to get the price down a bit, they will negotiate. Hope the boy gets sorted out.

Thanks p-girl, I will check them out

Also Meg for your kind wishes

  18. Hi Mick, if you don't get a good response for local surgeons please let a mod on duty know and we can move your thread to the Health forum. I know that quite a few experts post quite regularly there.

Hiya sbk, can i take you up on your kind offer and see if i can get some more advice from the Health forum please.

Thanks in advance for your much valued input.

  19. I recently needed a plastic surgeon for a skin graft for a motorbike accident and i ended up going to samitivej hospital in bkk. there are a bunch of plastic surgeons at samitivej and bumrungrad for the medical tourist crowd. i had a skin graft on half of my lower leg and it was about 180k. bumrungrad quoted 350k for the same surgery.

Thanks for this tlock and going on your case, it could be a lot less for a scar reconstruction of his lip.

I still hope to get it done in Pattaya or possibly near for him, but it helps as an alternative and i will keep it in mind.

It is a much appreciated post.

  20. Talking of the worst supporters there are possibly, two cracking set to,s due, both off the pitch and on it in the next few days in the play offs.

Leeds vs Millwall 9th. May and the return leg on the 14th. May

Any odds on them being sporting non violent affairs, especially in the second leg if it,s tight.

:) at the ready with extra police back up off the park maybe

    Hmmmmmm

  21. My adopted son had a motor bike accident and they let a trainee doctor do a repair on his lip ( eight stiches worth )

Left him with an unsightly scar with a bit of tissue forming a lump, around the lip leaving an unsightly mess.

I,ve been told it can be corrected via a minor operation with a good local plastic surgeon.

    Pattaya locality if possible please.

I,ve only just been made aware of it and it is genuine by the way, so please no cynical observations, no one has asked for any funds ect., but i want him to have it done with myself getting it sorted out, if it,s at all possible

It wasn,t his fault and as is always the case the other party did a runner at the time and left him in right state, 3 teeth half broken at the front, a broken leg and facial damage.

They are now being done at a recommended local dentist.

They never did catch whoever did it.

TIT once again, I,m sad to say.

" The B*S*A*D /..S ", May Karma duly commeth to them.

Thank you for any advice on this

Share your wealth, Andy Burnham tells Premier League football clubs

    Philip Webster and Kevin Eason

Debate: should the big four share their wealth?

The Government is demanding a radical overhaul of English football finances to break the domination of the big four clubs.

Andy Burnham, the Culture Secretary, is calling for Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool to share their winnings in Europe with other Premier League teams.

Mr Burnham, an Everton fan, is pressing for several measures to redistribute the wealth of the richest league in the world to its lower reaches.

He wants the leagues £1 billion revenue from television and sponsorship rights to be shared out more evenly among its 20 clubs.

He also wants smaller squads and compulsory quotas of English players in team line-ups.

The demands has put footballs governing bodies at loggerheads with the Government, which claims to be acting in supporters interests.

A meeting on Tuesday night between Mr Burnham and Richard Scudamore, chief executive of the Premier League, broke up with the minister demanding more from the game.

After months of talks between the two sides Mr Burnham clearly believes that the league has failed to take seriously his call for more competitive balance .

A government source said: We have to keep the dream in football. At present there are three divisions within the Premier League: the group at the bottom, the group in the middle and the top four.

The most contentious demand is for the big four to share some of their earnings from Europe’s Champions League ranging from £15 million to £40 million each.

That revenue helps to entrench their dominant position, giving them more to spend on players, usually from overseas.

They are there representing our league; perhaps some of that money should go back to the clubs a government source said.

Mr Burnham, whose club Everton are sixth in the league, is acting towards the end of a season that has again marked the big four maintaining their grip on the top of the Premier League. Three were in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Manchester United beat Arsenal on Tuesday; Chelsea were knocked out by Barcelona last night.

Ministers have dismissed suggestions that they might legislate.

The Government has a duty to represent the views of football supporters across the country and we believe on these issues we are speaking with the grain of football opinion, said the source.

Other advisers said that the Government had opposed attempts by the European Commission to extend competition policy to cover transfer fees and, in return, now expected football to put its own house in order.

In October Mr Burnham asked the Premier League, Football League and Football Association to consider areas such as governance, financial regulation and avoidance of debt.

He suggested limits on the size of squads. Some of the top teams have as many as 60 players and therefore unlimited substitutes to counter injuries.

More controversially, he asked the game to adopt quotas of locally developed talent in each Premier League squad, and similar quotas for players sent out for each match.

Fabio Capello, the Italian manager of the England team, complained last year that only 35 per cent of Premier League players were English; Italys Serie A was 72 per cent Italian.

Ministers believe that a call from Fifa, the world governing body, for teams to have no more than six foreigners to every five home-grown players would be unworkable and probably break European law.

They believe that the answer is to make developing local talent more attractive and for leagues to impose their own quotas.

Of the £1 billion that comes to the league, 50 per cent is distributed equally between all clubs, 25 per cent is paid out according to the finishing places, and 25 per cent according to the number of television appearances.

The result is that there is a 1.6:1 ratio in earnings between the top and bottom clubs.

Ministers accept that the figure has improved considerably over the years but believe that more can be done.

They argue that if more revenue came from the Champions League it could be used to iron out inequalities.

That position is believed to be supported privately by the Premier League.

Manchester United, the champions, received £49.3 million from the Premier League last season.

Arsenal got £47 million; Chelsea £45.5 million and Liverpool £45.4 million.

The lowest payment in 2007-08 was £30 million to Reading, but even relegated clubs get a golden handshake worth £11.4 million for the two years after they leave the Premiership.

The Premier League also hands out more than £128 million a year to charities.

A spokesman for the Premier League said: Our submission to Andy Burnhams original seven questions has been well received. We hope to make public our contribution to this debate shortly.

A Department for Culture, Media and Sport spokesman said:

We have made it clear that it is not Governments job to run football but to challenge the game on issues that are in the public interest.

  23. Football's big four urged to share

The Government is urging England's "big four" football clubs to share their earnings with other Premier League teams, it is reported.

The Government wants English football's big four to share Champions League winnings

Culture Secretary Andy Burnham wants Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool to divvy up their Champions League winnings with the rest of the Premier League clubs, according to The Times.

The controversial request is part of a bid to create a level playing field for teams lower down the league table by redistributing the wealth of the big four.

Other proposals include sharing the league's £1 billion revenue from television and sponsorship rights equally between all 20 teams. Currently, 50% is distributed among all the clubs, 25% is paid out on finishing places, and 25% for the number of television appearances.

Mr Burnham also hopes to break the dominance of the big four with compulsory quotas of English players in team line-ups and limiting the size of squads.

The Government insists it is acting in the interest of the sport and its fans, but some of the demands are likely to meet strong opposition.

The proposals follow talks held in October with the Premier League, Football League and Football Association on areas including governance, financial regulation and debt.

A Department for Culture, Media and Sport spokesman said: "We are continuing to have good and productive discussions with the Premier League on their response to the questions posed to the football authorities last autumn.

"We are pleased that the Premier League have stepped up to the plate and are discussing changes that would improve the development of the game at the highest level in this country.

"We have made it clear that it is not Government's job to run football but to challenge the game on issues that are in the public interest and we will continue to do that as part of our ongoing dialogue."

    BANKING

Banks asked to cut foreigners' ATM fees

    By: SOMRUEDI BANCHONGDUANG

The Thai Bankers' Association will ask local banks to cut fee charges for foreign cardholders using local ATMs, according to association secretary-general Twatchai Yongkittikul.

He said the TBA would hold talks among its members about current fees.

But he cautioned that any cuts would likely be marginal, as most of the fees represented charges imposed for international network access and simply passed on to end-users.

Since mid-April, foreign cardholders withdrawing funds from local ATMs have been charged 150 baht per transaction.

Dr Twatchai said the fee largely came from new transaction charges imposed by international service providers MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Worldwide to cover interchange network costs.

Local banks, which had previously absorbed the expenses, are now looking to pass on their own operating expenses to customers, arguing that the fees charged in Thailand are in line with expenses charged for cross-border ATM transactions in other countries.

Dr Twatchai acknowledged that a number of foreign tourists and expatriates had complained about the added fees.
