Do I really have to stream it from internet?

I am using novatel's usb-cdma in Phuket as a backup sometimes. My gf would like to know if she could use it in her home near Chum Phae which is like 30km from Khon Kaen

Any experiences or knowledge is appreaciated.

I assume you are talking about a USB CDMA wireless modem for internet access, as a backup in case your land line service is down. Are you looking for wireless internet services in general, or do you just want to re-use the same wireless modem that you use in Phuket? What service does it use?

I don't have any first-hand experience with this, but this coverage map for CAT CDMA network might help (if you are using CAT CDMA service). Click the northeastern region on the map, and then mouse over Khon Kaen (about midway up the east side, listed in Thai as ขอนแก่น). This will list the covered areas in Khon Kaen. I don't see Chum Phae on the list, but not all of the areas are amphurs. Some are stores like Tesco Khon Kaen and Kong Thong Mansion in Sawathi, amphur meuang (probably an apartment complex or condos). Have your girlfriend look at it and see if there is coverage. If not, maybe it is close enough to another area that is covered. I see that most of the neighboring amphurs are covered (even in Chaiyaphum Province, which Chum Phae borders).

All I know is that I have a usb stick "Novatel Ovation MC727" that I use in Phuket and yes, I want to use the same stick in Chum Phae

It should work as long as there's a CAT tower within range. From my experience the coverage is excellent everywhere in Isaan except in some mountainous areas and perhaps in some very remote rural areas that I've never been too. While riding in the car from Roi Et to Khon Kaen and from Khon Kaen to Korat there are no drops in service. The only way to really find out is to let her take it home.

"You may only apply for single"

The process was fast and simple. Get an application from the booth outside, fill it out and give it back to the guy inside the booth who gives you a number. Go inside and wait for your turn. I only had to wait 5mins. Handed in passport and the application with one photo. I applied for 2 entries but after the woman saw that she told me "You may only apply for single here". I asked if I could pay for double and she said no. She didnt want any money and told me to come back 3pm tomorrow.

So no double entry tourist visas from Phnom Penh at the moment.

So i guess i have to go in blind tomorrow, hoping for the best. spent too much money for this visarun already so wouldnt mind if i could get a double. i will have a trip report for you tomorrow evening

I booked my tickets to PP a bit over a month ago when we still thought getting a double would be hassle free. Now that it looks like it is not what should my plan be there?

I am flying there this weekend and will have a trip report for you guys by tuesday.

I read from the other thread that people use agents that get the visa for you. Are there any reliable ones in PP i could use (most importantly to secure a double since otherwise i am losing so much money and time for a single i could get easier and closer anyway).

Like I said this doesnt prove anything in either direction but it is kind of worrying since I have already booked my flights and the reports in this thread made it sound like a hasslefree process.

Anyone else been there in the last 1-2 weeks that could confirm this in either direction?

It would be good to know what country he is from. People from some countries only can only get single entry visas.
