I had a very low water pressure again on saturday for a few hours and again now.
Anyone know the reason? is this a frequent high season thing? or does someone know about some repairs the water company might be doing?

i had 2 friends who mailed their passport to hull from their european home countries to hull in the last 2 weeks
one of them put visiting GF as reason, got the visa but there was a letter that he will need for example copy of lease in the future to get the same visa
another one included copy of lease and got the visa also, no letter included

I guess what happened to me back in november makes more sense now
I had a new 3bb premier installed to my newly rented house in chalong, phuket end of november last year. there was a line in the house already and everything was working but they still insisted on putting in a new line "because someone will come get the old one back"
I have been very happy with the service though. i have the 5/1mbit premier line though the "data rate" on my router says 7232/636 kbps. I can download over 700kB/s. I think there has been only one 1 minute disconnection in the 2 months i have been using it
lets hope there are no surprises...

so all your numbers are in megabits per second?
just asking to confirm because when ISPs advertise speeds they give them out in megabits per second but usually when you download stuff the speed is given in bytes
so as an example for international download you said 4-5Mbps you mean 4-5 megabits per second (500-625 kilobytes per second) ?

Dario,
I am with everyone else here. You made a mistake while booking a non-refundable ticket. whether you called them 1 second or a month after your booking does not matter. you should always triple check all details when booking a flight, it only costs your time. after a mistake is done it will cost money
Just accept that it was your fault and not anyone elses. do not try to charge back, that would make you even more of a thief that you claim nokair to be
like some said already, you only lost 2000 baht

Absolutely no problem down in Rawai. In fact, no problems for a very, very long time.
(But, Rawai's over-rated, you know - according to one member )
yep rawai has been very good for the past couple of months. very fast and no disconnections
anyone know if you can get cat telecom adsl in rawai?

last time I flew to thailand with finnair from helsinki they delayed the flight because they were waiting for couple of passengers wanting to connect with that flight
so i can confirm with others that you wont have any problems making your flight

If you do do pay for a ticket for a friend be sure you are traveling with them - and take the CC with you !
Air Asia is one of the few carriers that don't have this requirement.
can confirm this. you can pay for a ticket for anyone and all they need is the booking number with them. remember to fill their names and date of birth correctly.
this is how I was instructed by airasia customer service and have booked a flight for a friend couple of times without flying with them, successfully

260baht/hour is still cheaper for serious players than playing in chang for example 20baht/game and the quality of play will be so much higher (not that anyone would go to chang to play pool seriously)
i dont think this place ever wanted to cater to some random drunks anyway

A friend of mine was enquiring about getting a visa from there. Their answer included the following note:
Please note that our office is closing as of 14th October 2010. After this date you will be required to deal with the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra. -
i think the investigators should be rewarded in some other way. they were doign their job. money like this should be rewarded to someone helping the investigators catch the killer, not to the investigators if they do it on their own
anyone know the sentencing date or know/guess how many years will he serve?

Looks like this TheyCallmescooter guy is on some sort of mission
the news say he(the ronald fanelli who was caught in thailand) is 37 when they caught him
that news story you linked says someone with the same name was 36 in 2007
did he only age 1 year in 3 years?

He was never a Navy Officer. zomg

I once had a really bad experience with Tiger airlines and will NEVER fly with them again

I got a note saying that the government water supply will be closed for 3-4 weeks or until they fix their lines for chalong/rawai. We called the water companys number to confirm I am surprised nobody has mentioned anything about this in the forums yet

Bahtboy,

007,
The consulate requires proof of stay in Perth if you're not Australian. Atleast that's what I gathered from previous reports here and from what the lady at the consulate said

I just visited the thai consulate in Perth yesterday to apply for the non immigrant type O visa. I went to the office at 9 am with:
Filled visa application
Filled extra application from their website for type O applicants
AUD$225
One picture
Copy of my girlfriend's ID
Copy of my hotel voucher
She also asked for copy of plane ticket to Thailand which I had forgotten to take with but she didn't mind
She said to come back at 1 pm and my visa was ready when I did. Smooth process on 29th of June 2010

Why do you need a non immigrant visa to buy a bike?
two of my friends are on tourist visa and they bought one each from honda. honda just wanted proof of residence and some paper signed by their landlord.

Hello,
I am going to Perth soon to apply for this same visa for same reason as the OP
I emailed the perth consulate and asked about the paperwork. All they want is signed copy of your girlfriends ID and an invitation letter (obviously you will need to fill out the standard visa application form but you dont need anything special you wouldnt have with you anyway). You will need passport pictures, some proof of stay in Australia (not needed in your case obv) and the AUS$225 for the multiple entry visa.
make sure your passport is valid 6 months after you intend to leave thailand
I will post a complete trip report when I return
Airasia Using Return Only, Possible?
in Thailand Travel Forum
Posted
to OP,
Airasia doesnt have return tickets. only one way tickets so you wont have any problems using the "return"
and why is it too late to call airasia? your said your flight is 4 weeks away. you can also email them. ive emailed couple of times and gotten a reply within 24hrs
