  1. Police knew already on Saturday that the suspect was Algerian (and illegally living in France), but no one spoke about this as Sunday was election day. Pictures were shown as blurred but were actually perfectly clear for the police.

Macron and his henchmen are liars, the sooner he will go, the better for France and Europe.

Don't get it. Why burn things, riot and loot when you could just all sit down peacefully and bring France to a standstill - lorrydrivers seem good at it. Oh, yeah, forgot. It's xmas soon and better stock up.

Those who riot and loot are NOT those who protest (with probably some exceptions). Some come from ultra-right or ultra-left groups. Most come frome the suburbs pouring out their hatred towards the country which was fool enough to welcome them or their parents,

I am amazed that 300,000 demonstrators can control a country of many millions. Weren't those higher fuel taxes designed to help alleviate climate change according to the Paris Accord?

You are right. However these taxes mostly hit people living in the sticks or far away from big city centers, usually people who have a low income. At the same time, people in the big cities do not even need to own a car, as they have public transport available just down the corner : easy for them to push for high fuel taxes as they are not concerned.

This is what sparked things off ; macron's arrogance, lack of empathy, contemptuous comments, did the rest.

  4. Macron is an arrogant president who spends a lot of time cursing most French citizens, especially the poor (who "would find jobs if they only crossed the road") and the retirees who "always complain", which is rather usual when only the elderly must deal with increased taxes and freezed income. He is especially keen at criticizing his country and his fellowmen when abroad. He is now trying to weaken the Parliament's rights so that he as a President would have still more power.

Polls show that his approval rating is dwindling month after month and is lower than Hollande's one after 15 months in position.

His last show in French ruled St-Martin island in the West Indies where he was snapped almost cuddling with two young and sexy local hunks (but real thugs) will not improve his popularity, as six months before he had cursed and shamed a young (white-skinned) teen who had only dared to call him by his nickmname "Manu". And Collomb's resignation comes only one month after Hulot, another popular Minister, had stepped down.

French people feel now that no one is in charge except for giving useless money to the rich and the big companies and snatching more power for the caste now in power.

Typical French hypocrisy. They expect to tell everyone else what to do but do as they please themselves. France has always been good at moaning that others aren't following EU rules or not doing this or that whilst exploiting every possible loophole for their own benefit.

French politicians still think France leads the EU. Germany, Austria and Italy, in accord, will seriously dent their self delusion.

Please do not lump all French citizens together with the spoiled arrogant brat who is now our president. He was elected by a minority of registered voters only because of his good looks, big money coming from banks and big companies, and an incredible campaigning to discredit his contenders.

What he said to the italian government put many of us to shame, he would better joining Italy, Austria and Germany to really end massive and uncontrolled immigration which is a lethal poison for the whole of Europe.

Strange that labor costs are always too expensive but dividends never high enough for gorging shareholders...

Surely not the best way to a pacific and stable society

I am sure that most genuine refugees and most Muslims are as appalled by such crimes as the rest of us.

The whole problem lies in the word "most" ...

When pools suggest that about only 30 % of the muslim population in Europe is OK to fully abide to the local laws and custom, one could think that "most" denotes a very optimistic point of view.

The Skywalk from Bang Na to Udomsuk station is only necessary for visitors to Bitec and the future Bangkok Mall, so let those businesses pay the full cost.

From what I read on wikipedia (thai version), the ground floor of the Bangkok Mall would be the new bus terminal replacing Ekamai as from 2021 ; this could justify some public funding.

  9. Police says one dead and belgian media announce 11 ... and counting.

So sad for the families of all persons dead and wounded ...

Reason unknown ... when two explosions happen in an overcrowded place within some seconds and each in one side of the place, you do not have to guess for long. The unknow reason is all-too-well known to the common people who are fed up with this policy of letting anyone enter Europe and destroying their life - litterally and figuratively.

  10. What allow them back on the beaches to extort and bully those that choose not the use the chairs? What part of "public" beach do you morons not understand, for too many years you have used the exact mafia tactics you claim not to use. I for one am happy to see clear beaches and when I place my towel on the beach, I am not harassed. If I need to eat, I get off my ass and go get it.

So you must be very happy as 99 % of thai beaches are completely beach chairs free. Perhaps you could show some tolerance for those who prefer a full service, for their convenience or because of bad health.
