webfact
Mo Chit 2 bus terminal to remain at Chatuchak BANGKOK: -- Mo Chit 2 bus terminal will not be relocated to Rangsit in Bangkok's northern outskirt but remain at same place and will become even greater. This was agreed upon at the meeting between the governor of the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) which owns the land where the bus terminal locates, and the director of the Transport Company, operator of the Mo Chit 2 bus terminal at Chatuchak. Transport Company’s director Pol Gen Amnart Anart-ngarm said instead of relocation, the Mo Chit 2 northern bus terminal on Kamphaengpet road in Chatuchak area will be enlarged to 50 rai to accommodate 150,000 passengers a day from 90,000-100,000 currently. He said at the meeting the SRT informed that the operation of the bus terminal would have no impact on the SRT’s construction of a maintenance centre of the central Bang Sue electric train station. 12DrinkMore
And for those of you on public transport without a Thai girlfreind in tow, to get to the bus station from the Mor Chit railway station it is a pleasant twenty minute stroll through the park. With a gf it is a convoluted taxi ride taking 20 minutes to 45 minutes costing around 80 Baht, and you still get dropped on the wrong side of the road and have to use the bridge. I usually walk when coming back from the bus station. The taxi rank inside normally has a big queue andn yeah, the taxi route is ridiculous if you are heading south. The bus station is literally surrounded on all sides by building sites, so I'd like to see how they will expand it. George FmplesdaCosteedback
Ah the wonders of Thai planning. It should move, but only when it can link to the BTS. SRT must have more land to spare somewhere convenient.

The irony is that Mor Chit bus terminal used to be right beside the BTS station, but they moved it to build the sidings for the BTS trains. That tells you all you need to know about Thai planning.
