From experience, you will have to apply for a new work permit.

I think it's rather basic. The only people who do not have to do 90-day reporting are people with permanent residence.

The big tokay geckos around my place don't say "to-kay". It's most definitely, clearly, "FAARk!-you". And the roosters scream out "FAAR-kin AAARs-hole"

I taken by ambulance from one hospital to another, about 145 km, in Isan. It was a simple transport, I most certainly wasn't in danger of dying. And the guy scared the living hell out of me with his reckless speed. Lights flashing, siren on, straight through red lights at intersections, dodging in an out of lanes. The gurney I was strapped on didn't even seem to be locked in place. I told him more than once there was no emergency and I wanted to arrive alive, but it made no difference of course. Limiting him to 80 kph would have been a godsend. And I certainly didn't see much in the way of "life saving equipment". The nurse was nice though, so that made up for a lot of it. Just another day in Thailand, not a rant.

I finally have the best yet, only, option of TOT Winet to the house. Is it worth it? Not cheap to install but no 3BB etc available. In Buriram. Close to the city. Only option is an aircard, which works well, but really is not adequate bandwidth and very expensive. Can't stream at all.

Maybe he isn't welcome for an official visit, but if he were to present his passport and apply for an ordinary visa maybe it would be different. Worked for Thaksin.

I've no objection as long as it doesn't come at the expense of ordinary economy. That's what usually happens.
China Airlines has just introduced that layout model and in economy, they've squeezed in an extra row of seats in their new 777-300 and reduced the seat pitch to 32 inches. Story here: http://www.nycaviation.com/2014/10/china-airlines-takes-delivery-first-boeing-777-300er/?feedsort=more
If SIA is planning the same thing, they'll do themselves more harm than good.
Also, 'Premium economy' is usually centred in the middle of the aircraft where the wings are. That means your view out the window is restricted and there's no point in having a window seat at all if all you can see is the wing.
I don't mind seeing the wing at all. Very reassuring to know it's still there. I've always enjoyed flying with SIA.

I cannot even get someone to cut the grass around the house for B300 a day here in Isaan. That's the sort of money they expect for only 3-4 hours work (including siesta).

Google Chrome has a known issue with using hibernate or sleep with Windows. Is this what you are doing? If so, try restart, preferred, or re-install Chrome. I hope it is that simple, good luck.

Worth the very occasional visit if you live nearby. Certainly not worth a special trip to see it.

At the first twinge I take a 120mg Arcoxia tablet, and 24 hours later another one if necessary. It works slowly, but it works for me. Available over the counter, but not all pharmacies. Also generic available from India.

There are a lot of sick people on this forum judging by their posts. The word foreigner, in Thailand, means someone who is not Thai. Hey guys, farangs are not the only foreigners here. You are not the center of the universe here.

Buy peeled blanched almonds at Makro or wherever, put them in a blender with a little of your favourite oil and pulse, adding a bit more oil as needed until you have the consistency you want. Even better if you lightly dry roast the almonds first. Don't burn them. Easy peasy.

You sure it's hives? Might be bedbugs or something else. Go see a doctor, very inexpensive in Thailand
Most certainly not bugs in the bed. Thanks for the thought though. Docs here in Isan are really not confidence inspiring. Have experience with them.

For the last four months or so I have hives every night. I have changed, varied my diet, my soap, but still have to take an antihistamine when I go to bed to avoid extreme itching and welts. Any ideas anyone? Docs here just prescribe antihistamines. I don't like them much.

Generic omeprazole is sold in Thailand over the counter as Miracid. A lot cheaper that Pantoprazole

They can find oil under my ricefields as soon as they like.
What's to object to?
Would be welcome on our fields, too. How do we invite them?

saw diesel at 30.49
Here in western Bangkok and the places I roam in nearby Nakhon Pathom its 29.85 to 29.95...mostly 29.85.
fuel is always priced 50 satang or more a litre higher in the provinces, depending how far you are from Bangkok.

I hope someone is keeping tabs on all these things that they say they are "going to do". Some kind of "end of term report" perhaps or, perish the thought, follow up articles by a non-obsequious press maybe?
Well, I look forward to your monitored reports

Is it any wonder that people, especially in rural areas, prefer the underground lottery? Bet on two digits every day, the odds are way better than the official fortnightly lottery, and the local agents always pay - they have protection, the profits are passed up.

Prachuap Khiri Khan? Another great headline. It doesn't even have an outlet to the Andaman Sea

How to buy Kindle Oasis 32GB in thailand?
in Mobile Devices and Apps
Posted · Edited by writeshack
Corrected the seller's name.
I bought an Oasis 32Gb from a Thai distributor through Lazada in December. Delivery was prompt, it was new and well packaged. It has book ads but they are not that annoying. One swipe clears them away. The seller was TMT Innovation. The cost was B7990.00 plus B38 delivery. There were others being offered by this and other sellers. This one suited my needs. A word about the Oasis. I like it for the light weight, the screen size and ease of holding in my hand and the buttons, but the battery is smaller than the paperwhite I had before. I read for several hours a day and recharge the Oasis every night. Good luck.
