  1. Don't we all love it when it's cheaper one of the girls is pregnant with a white baby inside when my wife was pregnant with our child she did not smile either big strain on the back , but anyway they are always friendly to me and smile maybe it is just you , do you speak thai ? that helps.

  2. No it's the next road up on your left have to take , The egg farm shuts about 4-5 pm everyday so it is better to go early in the morning think it opens about 7am it is where everyone gets there eggs from in chiang mai then sells them on for profit they have every kind of egg you can think of.

  3. From huay kaew road going towards doi sutep get to the crossing dunkin donuts is on turn right down canal road as if your going towards the 700 stadium get to the traffic lights and keep driving past fine thanks the bar/restaurant the one with the big sign with the ganja leaf on should be on your left hand side keep driving until there is a crossing in the road which turns right into jed yod but you turn left into soi chang khain keep driving for about a 1 km and look for the egg sign on your left hand side opposite the big pink hotel that has been empty for years which now has a sign on it star hotels .

The women that works there speaks very good english and is very nice she will tell you about what different types of eggs they even have double yolk eggs .

I have seen many subjects about eggs on tv so i thought it was about time i shared this was meaning to take a photo but never got round to it .

  4. +1 for hk duck on huay kaew road such a shame he had to move from the university but they put up the rent from 12,000 to 16,000 and the owner is going to sell the land he is on now in the next few months .

I knew the guy when he first started in chiang mai he worked in bangkok restaurant for 12 years before he came here .

  5. my wife has bikes for 2000 baht she also has an old honda wave which is getting rented out tomorrow and an old mio which is also getting rented out tomorrow but because they are so cheap they are always the first to go as soon as they come back .

Also my wife has 50 bikes but because she is the cheapest we are always the busiest and we also deliver to most places in chiang mai up until 11pm at night free of charge .

  6. Because everybody loves eating food and chiang mai has so much choice i see this as a positive thing as many of the new restaurants i have tried have been from tv some i have like and some not so keep the suggestions coming .

  7. Are they smarter if they are able to do that at 3 instead of 5, or 6?

    Yes, they are.

Not necessarily. Many different factors can affect this ability, or lack of, other than innate intelligence.

I agree with Nikster to a large extent. My (just) 3 yo has had a mixed education, going to schools in France and Thailand, speaking English with me, and with no parental obsession about education - just the desire to see a child raised in a pleasant learning environment where she feels at ease, and confident. At that early age anyway. As a father I just wish my daughter to grow up to become a knowledgeable, balanced human being, who treats others with respect, other than raising a learning machine destined for some remarkable career - in the parents' dreams anyway.

From bog-ordinary schooling in the countries she's been raised in so far, by a single parent, my daughter speaks fluent 3 yo English and French, and understands Thai. No pressure, no special learning priorities. Sure educational standards are important, and there are considerable variations from one establishment to another, but I do think we can get excessively hung up on this aspect rather than the other factors that contribute to a kid's wellbeing at school.

    +1 very good post .

  8. You can no longer buy the new honda dream i went last week to look for one and they said honda has made enough for a while until the new model comes out and they have sold out .

The best place for me is a place just over the river ping on the right hand side as if you are going towards the arcade bus station .

saengchaiphanich 100/4 kaewnavarat road a.muang chiang mai .

  9. Yep more speculation as always, the guy probably left the bike parked on the street overnight (think Zoe) while he went and passed out at Spicy.

I know a few people dumb enough to do this, then call me paranoid when i point it out.

Yes this happens all the time it's about where people go and they never bother even locking the steering lock let alone put a lock on it then they come up with all kind of excuses of why it got stolen even tho they got told like a thousand time to lock it up .

  10. I use little stars for my daughter of 3 years old the western teacher stays with the kids all day until 5 pm and there are only 12 kids in her class very good for the price of 27,500 per term .

My daughter is 3 years and 1 month and can write her name count 1-20 knows all the shapes and colours can also write her name in thai knows most animals from the zoo can spell yes and no .

I have looked at most of the schools around chiang mai and all the others the teacher come in and teach for a few hours then they go home even the ones that claim to be international at 35,000 per term nakorn payap they say 60% english 40% thai but it is more like 80% thai 20% english.

I have worked as a kindergarten teacher for 5 years and i know people that work at all the schools above and i still rate little stars just behind kad suan kaew , Abs on the superhighway is not the same teacher to students ratio.

Also the teacher that works at little stars was also a kindergarten teacher in the uk before she came here and is really good with the children .

  11. as you said been done to death search for Hair Stylist in the search function

What a waste of time typing a reply like that .

The place i go to is on canal road from huay kaew heading towards doi sutep get to the junction which dunkin donuts/phucome hotel is and turn left keep driving straight past the petrol/gas station and there is an really tall apartment block on your left just before you take the back way to niman going towards punna apartment/powerhouse gym,the hairdressers is on the canal road you have to walk up some steps and the place is at the top of the steps i always go to the guy with the long hair it's 120 baht and they don't do that comb technic when the should be using scissors that i hate they do in thailand.

p.s (they don't speak english but that reflects the price i guess)

  12. fresh aloe vera is quite bitter, not a chemical and not unhealthy, if you can keep it on her fingers she may stop- i bit my nails at 3 years old and did for years and years, so your daughter has my sympathy for this bad habit.

But i'm not sure a 3 year old can file there nails .

Funny, I only bite my nails when I notice you're trawling the forum sbk.biggrin.png

There is a product that is sold in Boots UK, but I haven't seen it here. It's called Stop and Grow, ittastes awful and sewrves as a reminder to keep fingers away from mouth. It's about 3 pounds 70 pence and the size of a small nail varnish jar. If you know anyone in UK they could send you one to try.

I know they sell it in the uk but i thought i would try to see if i could get it in thailand first before i ask someone to send me some as my wife told me you could get it here but she did not know where maybe i will try boots in ksk today .
