I have the very basic Kindle and love it
Light and easy to use and battery lasts weeks. (My phone is dead in 24 hours
)
I only have wi-fi on when I need to download new books
I have looked at friend's tablets Ipads etc and they weigh far to much
Watch the prices. Mine came from the US and was $79, in the UK it is £79
over 50% more.
Where I live books in English are in limited supply so I am out of touch with prices
but can you really buy a paperback for £3
There are plenty of Kindle books for that, or less
to say nothing of the free sources as well.
Buying books from Amazon is so easy and the download is almost instantaneous
though my home wi-fi
I believe there is an app for phones and PC to allow you to continue reading from where you
left off on the Kindle

There used to be a Thai Global channel on Hotbird
that would be accessible from the UK.
No Thai soaps...........
Are there any Thai TV torrent sites that might keep your good lady supplied?
-
I am on Feralhosting.com.
Recently they upgraded me to a new server with 20% more disk space
and moved the data over.
The price did not change
Excellent service all round with a choice of torrent apps to use
I use rtorrent.
@DDDave try google................

If you are a member of The Box you will know what to do
and to keep your mouth shut, or risk expulsion.
If you are not, then TVChaos is the place to go.
-
In theory the box will work in the UK
The problem is that True does not have a satellite covering the UK
so there is no signal.
So no go, sorry!!

You guys are a captive market and being ripped off
I renewed my subscription to Abu Dhabi Sport,
not just sport, but several good HD channels as well
Last year it was $120 for the year
Worth every penny even if just for the F1 racing.
This year I received an SMS offering renewal at $41, so I grabbed it.

something that's not just a "rectangle with circles in it" LOL
Put the grill on and cover the circles, when she is not looking.
You might get lucky?

Some Thai postmen are just plain lazy
I was not getting mail to the house so I complained to Head Office, New Road Bangkok.
It turned out the man was taking the mail form the post office
then just dumping, rather than making the delivery............

Depending in the actual model, you may be able to Flash the memory
and make it usable with other satellites?
Does it have a brand name/model number on the back or bottom?
-
Interesting to see they are properly registered
so I presume they meet basic standards for safety?
Then again maybe not.
-
Firstly password security.
Use upper and lower case characters, plus numbers
Secondly, don't keep your contacts on Google, Yahoo etc
Run an e-mail client like Thunderbird, and keep your contact list on your own machine
-
Memory is the main issue for me.
I am often over the 4Gb limit of 32bit OS
-
I might add that generally good equipment is reliable for many years.

If I have to increase the volume on my amp to listen
that also amplifies the noise?
-
Never mind the brand for a minute.
TV's do develop faults from time to time,
there are several threads in this section on member's experiences.
Making sure there is a good service network is just as important.
I have had bad experiences with the hole in the wall repair guys.
Does Onida have service backup?
-
I am hoping something like that may be true
Thank you for the insight.

An external player is not in the equation.
The files are on a hard disk and played directly by the DAC in my Yamaha AV amp

What kind of lenses are you looking for?
It would help narrow the field..................
Why is buying from China so hit and miss?

I ordered my Android box a week ago and have received the notification
that it is in the post, with a tracking number, so I have my fingers crossed
