He had travelled from Pattaya to Sattahip for sightseeing, hiring a motorcycle taxi from Soi Buakhao in Pattaya
It seems that he actually was driven to Sattahip by the motorcycle taxi. Did he actually pay for the ride, or did the driver take the passengers mobile phone as collatteral for missing payment? -
When Thailand offer visa free entrance for certain countries, they should also accept, that not all them are well behaved.

Gone too young for the stupid actions of a speeding driver.
The Police obviously not interested. No cameras and declining to take footage from local store owners, no check on drink-driving, nothing......... It stinks.
Will we have the outrage at the death of an innocent woman or the involvement of the interior minister asking questions about policing in Phuket?
We had it for weeks when a woman was kicked in the back by a foreigner, heads rolled all over the place. A trivial incident that made international news and drew the nation's ire, carefully choreographed by the media to whip up anti foreigner hysteria.
Or is this another road death not newsworthy enough, as it involves terrible driving on the part of Thais as usual.
One could only hope, that this will hit international news just as hard, as when the swiss guy gently kicked the female doctor away from "his" stairs!
A country with such a negligent police force, deserves to be avoided by many tourists.- 1

Why not ban real cigarettes with tobacco as well? They are without doubt killing and making more people sick, than if all smokers switched to vaping.
We all know that problem is, that there is no monopoly that controls e-cigarettes. At least vape smells better than tobacco smoke and people don't throw the cigarette butts everywhere, or in smelly ashtrays.- 1

To my best understanding, home insurances in Thailand normally doesn't cover anything worth stealing!- 4

So how did the steering ropes snap, when they have been inspected on a regular basis?- 1

The police should rather catch som of the many thai's driving around with modified exhaust systems on their motorbikes and cars. I live in what used to be a quiet village, but these days all the delivery bikes and trucks are polluting the area with noise. I don't understand why the delivery companies are allowing this, and how these often older vehicles can pass the annual inspections with modified exhaust systems.

I can't wait to see how the exchange rate of the THB will change dramatically, after the money has been distributed.

I guess that the funding from Dubai has dried out, now Taksin is back in Thailand.

Thai drivers very often cut in front of me on the roads, exactly like this Benz did, most likely hoping that I will notice them and brake before I hit them.

Also seized were a luxury BMW sedan, a Ducati motorcycle, and a pickup truck lacking a license plate
Why seize the vehicles? -
Just another "get rich in a hurry" scheme to line the pockets of the already rich tourism operators.

What has taken them so long? Did they really believe, that they could make people stop using plastic?

I guess they didn't manage to find any sexpats or prostitutes to ask! Did they by deliberately avoid to ask in Pattaya and all other well known sexpat destinations?- 1

In Thailand I have seen U-turns performed across the entire width of the road without using turn signals, so let's see the CCTV-footage, before we make any final judgements. There could be other factors than drunk driving involved.

The Nissan hybrid (Kick e-power) is in many ways a very nice car, but lacks power for a quick overtake and acceleration on uphill roads. Nissan claims it to run 26 kms/liter but that is way above reality, which is around 18 kms/liter. I really love the sound system.

So what about just declaring "disaster zone" without using the word "natural"?- 1

Bangkok Chaos: Pickup Plummets From 4/FL Hospital Car Park
in Bangkok News
Posted
My theory: Imagine a very small woman in a very large car. She would hardly be able to see above the dashboard. Going up on a ramp would make her see absolutely nothing in front of the car. Only when the car is on level ground after having left the ramp, she will suddenly have seen the parked car in front of her, probably panicked and pushed the accellerator instead of the brake. Having a small wife myself, I have never understood why they keep making the dashboards higher in new cars, but I guess that it must be for the drivers and passengers safety. But solving one safety problem by raising the dashboards, will just create another safety problem, when smaller people are behind the wheel. Here in Bangkok, I have driven with several taxi drivers who barely had a view above the dashboard in their Toyota Altis.
